Summary: The Batman Legacy-Fairly well done
Review: This collection boasts four Batman films, each one is worthviewing some times. Batman is arguably the best of the series, withTim Burton teaming up with Michael Keaton. Jack Nicholson makes a terrific villain as the Joker, and Kim Basigner is great as Vicki Vale. Anton Furst's production design won an Oscar, and Danny Elfman contributes a classic score. The cinematography is beautiful. Worth 5 stars. Batman Returns has Burton reuniting with Keaton along with Danny DeVito as the Penguin and Michelle Pffeifer as Catwoman. The film gives an even darker look at Batman, and the production design is much more malevolent. Oscar nominations for visual effects and incredible makeup. The cinematography is dark and brooding once again, and Danny Elfman's score is possibly better than his original. Worth 4 1/2 stars. Batman Forever is a whole different picture compared to the first two, with Joel Schumacher bringing his flashy, lavish style. Val Kilmer does a great job of filling Keaton's shoes as Batman, and Chris O' Donnell is brought in as Robin. Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey portray two of Gotham's most colorful villains, Two-Face and The Riddler. Nicole Kidman plays a criminal psychologist. The film is very well directed, and the special effects and sound are loud and overkill. Oscar nominations for cinematography, sound, and sound effects editing. Not as good as the first two and is sunk by a poor climax and despite great action, new Bat hardware and many great new vehicles... Worth 3 1/2 stars. Batman & Robin offers an overdose of eye candy... Robin is more of a distraction to Batman though together they battle the icy Mr. Freeze (played well by Arnold Schwarzenneger) and the seductive yet annoying Poison Ivy and her strongman Bane with a little help from Batgirl. Senseless action and a stupid plot premise is slightly redeemed by more new vehicles... and more new Bat hardware. Once again the special effects and sound are loud and overkill. Sadly, it was poorly done. Worth 1 1/2 stars. Overall, the Batman Legacy is a good film collection and is worth buying. END

Summary: The Legacy Lives
Review: Batman has been a character that everyone likes. Is it his cool gadgets? His mysterious demeanor? Or maybe it's the fact that we all have a little desire to be the caped crusader? Nearly everyone has pictured Batman as immortal, smooth and extremely dangerous. This may be what attracts him to us. How could you go wrong with this selection? 1) It's DVD. 'Nuff said. 2) It's Batman. All of the Batman movies were well acted, action packed, and gloriously excellent in portraying the aura that is Batman.

Summary: A declining film series
Review: This series as a whole deserves an average grade becuase it starts out wonderfully with a great director (Tim Burton) and ends with Joel Shumacher sucking the life out of it. The first two films have themes and actual characters. The last two films are empty, but they have a ton of explosives and high-profile actors hamming it up for no good reason. If possible, try to find a set with just Batman and Batman Returns. Then you get your money's worth.

Summary: Batman ON DVD! But is it worth it?
Review: I can personally say that I am a big fan of Batman and Batman Returns. I find these two Tim Burton films as wonderful pieces of pop cinema. In, Batman it doesnt go for camp and trys to take the Batman legend seriously. Batman Returns goes even further, and explores the characters of Catwoman and Batman. It's hard to find that in commercial film. As for Batman Forever, it rates a C+. There's plenty of eye candy, but not much else. It is however a good popcorn muncher. Batman & Robin is pretty bad, but not as bad as some people think. I do wish it was on Mystery Science Theatre, though. This box set doesn't contain any new extras. All it is is the ones released a few years ago with just production notes. Buy the first two seperatly, but if you're patient just remember there will probably be special edition versions in a few years.

Summary: Batman/Batman Returns are worth the money alone!
Review: Already owning the 4 titles being released in this trilogy, I wish it came out earlier! Batman and Batman Returns are two of the greatest gothic movies of all time. Tim Burton always does a magnificent job with his movies, but I feel that he peaked during his stint as the director behind the bat. Michael Keaton will always be the real Batman, with Val Kilmer running a close second. Batman Forever dutifully carried on the Batman tradition, yet lacked the tremendous cinematography and gothic styles of the original 2. Batman and Robin, however, never needed to be made. George Clooney never quite settles in as Batman, and Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy deserve better treatment as villians. Overall, each DVD displays a perfect audio/video transfer, and while lacking in the extra features section, this set definately deserves a place in everyone's DVD collection.

Summary: From Batman to Just plain Bats
Review: If nothing else the tragedy of the Batman Movie Franchise proves that Nothing is Director Proof. The first 2 films Batman and Batman Returns are successful because Tim Burton creates an Environment where these Characters can exist and not look out of place(something he has done brilliantly in all his films. He is the master of context).Keaton, despite the controversy over his casting, is the perfect Batman for the simple reason that he looks like he enjoys inflicting punishment. Then comes Joel Schumacher and the Neon Machine Guns and Dayglo Street Punks.The line that sums up both Batman Forever and Batman and Robin is Jim Carrey's "Was that over the top? I just can't tell anymore!" One would think that out of the tens of millions of dollars invested in these films some of it might find its way to a Screenwriter. And if there was a Worse movie than Batman and Robin in the last 5 years, I didn't see it...It is so bad that it killed a potentially great series...And how George Clooney still manages to do that neck thing he does, in the rubber cowl, is beyond me...Oh well, as I've always maintained, any 3 episodes of the Animated Series are better than any of the Movies...Ask your kids.

Review: "Batman"
This is one of my all-time favorite films of all time; I can't think of one wrong thing in this movie. Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson are perfect as Batman and The Joker, both giving some of their greatest preformances ever. All the supporting actors are great, too. And the score.....I can't praise it enough; that Danny Elfman is a genius! This is on Tim Burton's Top 5.

A good sequal, although it doesn't come anywhere near the first. Michael Keaton is back as Batman, good as ever. Danny Devito is perfectly twistedly sinister as The Penguin, and Michelle Pfeiffer is superb as the seductive Catwoman. Clever action sequences, but it just gets too darn depressing for a Batman flick, and there aren't quite enough scenes with the Dark Knight.

Now this is more like it! This action-packed, highly enjoyable film is by far the best of the sequals. Val Kilmer is great as Batman, a worthy successor to Michael Keaton. Tommy Lee Jones is delightfully sinister as Two-Face, and Jim Carrey was, as my review book says, "born to play the Riddler". Chris O'Donnell passes as Robin, but he often just comes off as a spoiled brat. The special effects are excellent, and the plot is pretty neat, though corny and very unrealistic at times: in other words, exactly like a traditional comic book!

Ugh. Mediocre acting by all involved (George Clooney as Batman? Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl? Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze?! puh-leeze), with the exception of Michael Gough as Alfred; action scenes that totally defy logic (the Batmobile and Robin's motorcycle riding down a practically 90 degree angle giant statue?! puh-leeze), and a just plain stupid plot. Great eye-candy special effects, but besides that, there's not much to enjoy. The kind of movie you watch when your brain is on Off Mode.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Like I said in the title, the four pack boxed set isn't worth buying; just go out and buy the first three, or even just the first and third, for low prices at Circuit City or something.

Summary: Batman: the greatest Superhero of all time...
Review: Here we have Batman in his brand new human life Adventures. We see him grow with his "issues" as an orphan and try to find love in many different places but as always his double personality gets in the way. We'll see Bruce Wayne/Batman defeat all his archi-enemies: The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, Two Face, The Riddler, Mr. Freeze & Poison Ivy. And here it tells how he meets his longtime partner and... "lover" for some people... Robin. But anyways I highly recommend this DVD Pack for every Batman Fan, Buy it & stay tunned for Batman begins, the new movie.

Summary: Overall Great Box Set
Review: The Batman movies have always gotten mixed reviews. BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS were mostly looked upon as being great yet too dark. BATMAN FOREVER AND BATMAN&ROBIN have received major mixed reviews with with the fourth movie receiving most of the negative reviews. Well, here is my personal review of each film. BATMAN is just about perfect in every aspect. Great story, great acting, not childish, and a dark tone that suits the movie. BATMAN RETURNS to me ranks up with the first. The dark tone is a bit more emphasized but it doesn't ruin the movie at all in my opinion. The acting is good, especially Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman (hear her roar!) and the story holds up as well. BATMAN FOREVER is different from the first two in the sense of not having a very detailed story, a lighter tone, and of course the arrival of Robin. Though somewhat fast-paced, the story still is good and Val Kilmer did just as good of a job playing Batman as did Michael Keaton. Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones bring so much personality to the characters of Riddler and Two Face. Aside from certain differences, this still ranks up with the first two movies. As for BATMAN&ROBIN, I realize that there were some noticable flaws. However, I have no problem overlooking them since I am a Batman fan. This movie is the first of the four to have a few plot holes but it's really not enough to ruin the overall film. A number of people hated George Clooney replacing Val Kilmer but again, it wasn't enough to ruin the movie because George did manage to do a decent job. Some situations were very predicatable and the villans acted a bit cartoony but being a fan of Uma Thurman and Arnold Schwarzenegger I personaly enjoyed seeing them play the villans. BATMAN&ROBIN also brings about the character of Batgirl. Despite the flaws, this movie still manages to entertain just as the others. I would like there to be yet another sequel to the franchise though it probably won't happen due to the fourth Batman not doing so good at the box office. I think the reason that some were displeased with the last two Batman films is because the tone and style somewhat changed but overall a Batman fan should definately enjoy all four.
