Summary: The Italian Job Rocks!
Review: With references to Wired and a hilarious subplot, The Italian Job won't keep you bored. Some call it a regular old movie. I'll call it a classic movie. The Italian Job has some hilarious actors, such as Seth Green. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a fun Friday night movie.

Summary: An Entertaining Film in the Shadow of "Ocean's Eleven."
Review: "The Italian Job," in many ways, seems to remind me of a sequel to "Ocean's Eleven." Get together an interesting, big name cast and assign them each a specialization. Launch this talented group of individuals into a world of immense action and crime in which the cops and authority seem to hold no place-the battle is purely between the "good" bad guys and the "bad" bad guys. I enjoyed this film, but not as much as "Ocean's Eleven" or even "Sneakers"-another film with a somewhat similar premise.

Although I don't think I'm as harsh as some others have commented, I wasn't particularly impressed with the acting in this film. I was expecting more from Edward Norton, but perhaps the role just didn't allow for anything. The action sequences in this film are good and I was particularly impressed with the helicopter scene-the flying is incredibly difficult to pull off and, as the special features inform us, was not added with computer graphics. The special features on this disc are not anything special. I watched all of the little short documentaries on the various aspects of the film. While they are interesting and provide some insight into the making of the film, there really isn't a whole lot to say about a pure action film.

While it's not as good as "Ocean's Eleven," the film is still worth a look if you're interested in those types of movies. Grab some popcorn, turn off your brain, and enjoy little Mini-Coopers drive around the screen.

Summary: Good Flick
Review: This was a good flick, but I only give it four stars. Because of the less-than-usual slang and no sex scenes, which are irrelevant anyhow, I wanted to give it five stars. But, it was too mediocre in some areas. There were a couple innovative ideas and the cinematography was good. It was also harder considering that a Pink Floyd track, my favorite group, was included (performed by a mix of musicians from non-PF bands). Definitely a safe date-flick.

Summary: Not that bad.
Review: This film was not a bad film, it just wasn't a great one either. The casting is great, I was worried when I saw the list. Edward Norton may be the best actor of the last century, and Charlize Theron has given many solid performances. But I was skeptical about Seth Green and Jason Statham, neither have had a stellar movie career. They were fantastic, in fact they were highlights to the film.
The only slight blemish was a few gaping plot holes (nothing new these days form any movie) and the performance by Mark Wahlberg. Marky Mark showed very few emotional responses and did little to impress me, I know he can do better. Boogie Nights is a classic and I really liked him in the Corruptor. But he seemed quite reserved, perhaps by design?

The car chase scene is phenomenal, don't skip it. In fact this movie is worth watching for that scene alone.

Summary: wanna buy a mini?
Review: a mildy entertaining work that melds sometimes very strong acting with an interesting story and creative crimes.

What detracts are the cheeseball scenes (like snippets of the characters' pasts and what they are doing now) with blatant/grandiose product placements, rendering the movie as one big commercial.

The key actors do a noble job with their script and it did hold my attention until the end, though.

When you're in the mood for an over-the-top Hollywood production, this one will do.

Summary: Kids version of Oceans 11
Review: ITJ is a bit a dissapointment because it makes itself a film of two-halves and doesnt really engage the viewer after Donald Sutherland departs the journey.

In short this is just simple Sunday afternoon entertainment and even the miss-cast Ed Norton does not make an impact. The premise is simple. Robbers get robbed by one of their own and then go seek their revenged. Cue a few chase sequences and some personal family matters. It doesnt really ever get off the ground. Very average robbery hookum.

Summary: waste of time
Review: Noisy, Unimaginative, Poor acting. Need I say more?????????
Sorry I wasted 99 cents to rent this movie. One of those movies I watched to the end thinking it had to get better, but it never did. The sound was so irritating I turned it down to the minimum volume which I could still hear the talking. Don't ask me why I wanted to hear that, I haven't figured that out yet.

Summary: good but a little disappointing
Review: This movie started out great, but it seems to me that the movie, climaxed up to a certain point and then just fizzled out. The ending to me was really disappointing, i feel that the "good" guys didn't get the direct vengeance they deserved, and the movie just ended abruptly.

ALso, the cut scenes from the movie were hilarious, i dont understand why they cut them; he says, "time contraints" yeah right thats a bunch of bs, the movie is short to begin with. The scenes he cut, were great, and would have added extra laughs, and the whole part with that one guy driving was taken out.

Movie all in all was good, but it just left me wanting more; i ended up watching all the extra features and still found myself unsatified enough that i went out and rented another movie.

Summary: Fun movie
Review: I liked this movie mostly because it was about the Italian job and the job that followed afterwards. The love sequences are pretty low so if that is what you are looking for, don't look for it here (but in my book, that almost guarantees a high rating).

I like a smart movie. This wasn't as smart as Sneakers (one of my favorites) and it certainly wasn't as funny (I only laughed out loud once and had a chuckle or two throughout).

I also like how well it sticked to the story. One simple plot, no sophisticated love story. A quick, dirty, simple story. More movies should have been modeled this way.

I also liked the pace of the movie. It was really fast. It started off fast with the original Italian Job and then slowed down so we could catch our breaths. Afterwards it slowly built up to the second heist and then we had a rip-rouring fun last half an hour to enjoy.

Greatly recommended!
