Summary: LEGOLAS IS SOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!
Review: I totally LOVED this movie! Legolas is so cute! It was sad at some parts, and there is A LOT of fighting. It is really hard to explain, and I don't want to give anything away. If you don't mind some blood, and love adventure, you should see this, along with the other movie...He is the cutest, and is sooo my FAVORITE character!!!...

Summary: nice movie
Review: This is a very good movie but I don't like the fact that it takes two dvds to show it. Besides that I think that this is a must buy for any Lord of the Rings fan.

Summary: Days 'o Fun
Review: Fortunately, I had some days off the week I bought this. I first, of course, watched the extended (available on this DVD only) version of the movie--which is even better than the theatrical release. I then spent sveral days exploring all the behind the scenes videos. Finally, I went back and watched the movie again with Peter Jackson's commentary. Then someone told me about the easter eggs. Still, I've probably only seen 75% of what's available. Awesome! I can't wait to buy the equivalent sets for The Two Towers and Return of the King.

Summary: Fabulous
Review: Loved this movie! One of the best, if not THE best, cinematography to be seen in our day and age. Fabulous story, flow and has it all: laughter, action heart pumping, and sadness. Can watch it again and again.

Summary: A Must-See Movie and WELL worth your $$
Review: One of the big bonuses about this dvd set is that all of it, the special features, interviews, etc. is close-captioned for the hearing-impaired (deaf) viewers. A great majority of other dvds, probably about 95%, do not caption their special features! KUDOS to the company who made this dvd set!

Summary: how to judge a movie like this one?
Review: i'm already 32 y.o. so i expect to experience complicated things, REAL things. i haven't read the book yet maybe i will maybe not anyway after seeing this movie i knew immediatly there were so many things the movie could do but it didn't. So it's far away from perfect. BUT can we ask a movie so much or do we need to ask it in this way??? i find i want to and begin to think, imagine and guess so so so so so many things after i saw the movie and maybe it's the most important thing of a movie, to let us to begin to think. Yes in the future we will expect more or maybe i should say "other elements" when we see a movie but at present, it IS actually perfect enough! i am excited and thankful!

Summary: incredibly long, incredibly boring
Review: "The Fellowship of the Ring" was one of the longest and most tedious movies I've ever seen. I sat for three hours in a theater chair watching the most weird-looking creatures battling a bunch of other guys over and over. The Orcs, or whatever you call them, are really disgusting. There were too many names that got confusing. There was Aragorn, Sauron, Saurumon, Gondor, and half a million other names and places that got confusing. What a waste of three hours.

Summary: One DVD set to rule them all!
Review: The Extended Edition DVD set of this remarkable modern classic has something for all the fans to enjoy, i would like to say that this director's cut is better than the theatrical release with more scenes added and character devolpment. The Extras on this DVD set are phenomenal, they show you how the movie was made in the first of the trilogy and how Peter Jackson gave up 5 years of his life creating his lifelong dream of putting "Lord of the Rings" into a live-action movie,

There's even a couple of hidden suprises on the DVD set, four audio commentaries, Still Photos and more to please the DVD owner. If your a fan of DVD, then own this set and it would be a definite collector's item for you DVD collectors.

Summary: Ultimate Dvd!
Review: This should be done for Hundreds of dvds....

this set is So extensive and makes you wonder if they will do this for the next two installments? Lets hope so!

The Documentaries included here are GREAT and the glimpses of the next two films is highly welcomed also! If you loved this film and can't get enough, get this....plus it comes with the bookends which make a great addition to your dvd or book shelf!

Summary: A hilarious easter egg...
Review: This is, of course, a wonderful movie, the best one of 2001, and the extras are terrific: genuinely interesting behind-the-scenes documentaries and lots of great commentaries to choose from.

However, there are plenty of reviews to discuss the merits of this must-have DVD. My main reason for writing this review is to let readers know about a terrific "easter egg" (hidden feature, for DVD novices) on disk one. Go to the chapter menu, scroll down to The Council of Ellrond (chapter 27, the last chapter on the disk), then push the bottom arrow to scroll down to underneath this chapter and push enter. This will access the easter egg, which is a really funny short spoof of the movie that played at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards, featuring Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar, and (bonus!) it's briefly introduced by director Peter Jackson.

How many directors have the guts to not only put a spoof of their own movie on the DVD, but introduce it themselves?
