Summary: "Every man dies. Not every man really lives."
Review: These words echoed throughout the minds of millions who saw this movie. A beautiful cinematic achievement, titanic in its grandeur and enormous in its impact on the emotions of everyone. The cast gives extraordinary performances, most especially Sophie Marceau, who plays the role of Princess Isabelle.

Summary: History is bunk - this film is not.
Review: Of course this movie is hostorically inaccurate - what Gibson is doing here is creating a myth, no telling the truth. The creation of stirring myths out of messy truths has long been the practice of story tellers - without it the tales of King Arthur, Robin Hood, Odysseus and even Eliott Ness wouldn't be the thrilling tales that have entertained generations.

Art can contain truth while telling lies - that is its job. Gibson tells a wonderful story of love, honour, heroism and the human spirit taht left me in tears because I relaxed my cynicism.

Ok, Gibson probably is somewhat homophobic - he's a religious Catholic with a large family, but that is such a tiny part of this movie, but Edward's homosexuality is a historical fact and this movie wasn't meant to be longtime companion - I'm sure he was despised for it.

That anyone can give this magnificent movie 1 star staggers me - they have thought processes utterly alien to mine, or they are just trying to be different, i don't know.

Summary: Breaveheart: can't be beaten
Review: Braveheart is the greatest movie of all time!!! While there are many gripes from people who take themselves and their politically correct views far too seriously, it must be remembered its just a film, and a very well made one at that. Acting, direction and fx all kick arse. While the film is not 100% historically correct, as the posessor of a Masters degree in history I can say that due to the poor documentation of the time, not enough is known to state what is or is not correct

Summary: Quit your whining
Review: Look--The Movie was good. I saw it and interpreted it as not having any element of truth whatsoever...so WHAT?! I am an impressionable high schooler--I left the theater with a great story in my head, but it was just a story. Those of you who go to theaters to learn about history obviously forgot about that age old institution--SCHOOL. And I felt no homophobic impulses from the movie--I didn't even realize the boy was gay--I thought he was just a slender, pampered leader (as MANY english rulers are OFTEN depicted as). WHO CARES? The only people who object to the movie are those who are looking for something to object TO. Next time you see it, suspend your disbelief, and enjoy it instead of wasting your money looking for something to complain about. I'm sure you could find fault with anything if you tried. Nothings perfect. For the rest of you, enjoy it--its cute, has genuine moments, and the original love is the one that lasts--Murron. For you critics, go wag on Titanic--maybe you'll decide it depicts DiCaprio as a hero with homosexual tendencies--but it really doesn't. Nor does this movie insult homosexuals anymore than those in that time period (hello? 13th century) would anyway. Complaining about homophobic messages and historical innacurracy at the same time is a paradoxical in this movie--take your pick, one or the other, but not both. Gibson chose.

Summary: WHERE IS THE DVD, MR. GIBSON?????
Review: Awesome movie. Good battle scenes and a flowing plot. Even the two major actresses were well casted and good looking. Heart-pumping, emotional, and encouraging, in a way. Everybody should see it. My only gripe is WHERE IS THE DVD FOR THIS MOVIE? With it's Oscar for cinematography and sound as well as epic war scenes, why isn't a DVD format available? Who do I write?

Summary: One of the best movies of recent years.....
Review: This is an absolutely fantastic film. The drama and romance is all well and good, but the real draws are the absolutely unbelievable battle scenes. Swords and shields clash, horses and soldiers fall, limbs are lost, blood splatters and arrows fly.

Summary: Unite the clans!
Review: What a display of honor and courage and love of freedom!! Never have I seen valor like this, and I think I will never see it again....Those of you who have critisized and ridiculed this movie are mocking one of the best films of all time. To have stood against a tyrant and withstand horrible phsical torture along with many sorrows when many would not rally to him, to still stand after every other man has fallen...I am proud to call myself a Scot. Every man dies....not every man really lives....

Summary: A spectacular multi-genre movie that has it all!!!
Review: This movie was totally awesome. Although it is not entirely historically accurate, you would have a cheap story if it were all based on precisely on historical fact. It would then be like siting for a 3 hour history lesson. The film does have some very bloody and graphic scenes, but a lot of the good films always do. The love in the film is heart felt and I actually cried at the end with the wonderful music and emotional torture scene and the part after when Robert the Bruce charged with the army. I have NEVER cried for any film in my life until now. Both Mel Gibson and Sophie Marceau give great performances. Basically, if you can stand graphic scenes then you have to see this movie. If you squirm at graphic scenes then have a "Braveheart" and watch it anyway!!!
