Summary: the 90's best
Review: The 1990's brought us a lot of great films: Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, ect. But Braveheart is unmistakely the greatest film of the 90's, it is the best film since The Godfather Part II. If you like historic epics you will love Braveheart!

Summary: Best film of the decade...
Review: The thing about the film that I enjoyed is the range of emotions you feel while watching it. You will feel sadness, betrayal, love, courage, hatred, joy, exhiliration, among others. I know the facts in the movie are not all factual. Take this movie as a journey through the human spirit, not as a clunky, 4 hour documentary about 100% fact. That is why we have history books. This movie also does something else that draws me to it. The battle scenes are graphic and realistic because it should not be made to look glorious. I think the way the battle scenes are depicted in the movie are closer to the way it was than a lot of other movies on this subject. I thought the film was absolutely fanatstic.

Summary: In China
Review: I live in China and really enjoy watching Braveheart, (especially the bit after they get married and kiss at the lake. It is so tender. And beautifully shot.)The battle scenes are fantastic, bloody and great action Gibson is a genius in the ilk of George Lucas, Scorcese, David Lean, Dorothy Paul or even Tosh McKinley.

Summary: An Intelligent man's view
Review: I am a doctor, of Greek heritage, and have spent many of my formative years in the beautiful land of Scotland, and i would like to once and for all quash this historic arguement.. Quosh! there! Your feeble arguements are no match for my stunning intelect! Braveheart was a marvelous film, beautifully shot in the Highlands of Scotland, the flat sequence of Stirling's battle was filmed in Ireland and is obvously not Scotland to any mendicant who has ever ventured beyond his own garden. It is a tale of passion and romance.. vengance and brutality.. men and women.. Scots and English.. A Film for the ages i recommend it to all who wish to broaden their horizons

Summary: From Eaglesham
Review: I live in Lundin and normally i only like pretentious films like Fargo or anything starring Al Pacino... I really like Michael Mann films too becuase they make me look dead clever. But Braveheart was really good bacuse it had swords in it. Theyre is a good bit in it whith Mel Gibson (who was in lethal weapin) and he dresses up as an englishamn and kills loads of bad guys. I somethimes dress up in English clothes too. very good film but should have had Danny Glover in it. he could have played Robert Bruce

Summary: Simply amazing
Review: This is one of the greatest stories of our time. A story that needs to be told and taught to school children as a story of courage and loyalty, something our world lacks a great deal of. Please release this on DVD as soon as possible. Maybe a re-release in the movie theatres similar to Star Wars.

Summary: Lethal Weapon goes to the Middle Ages
Review: Don't get me wrong - this was a powerful film at least in the first half. The scenes of battle still have the capacity to make me cringe, and the sheer filth of daily life of in the period is enough to make me appreciate the standard of living and peace of the modern world. But, why oh why with all the effort that goes into such films, do they have to take such gross liberty with historical accuracy? Can we really believe that with all the constraints on a member of the royal family then, let alone now, that a princess would be able to father a child to a commoner let alone an enemy to the state? It is obvious from the film that the makers only had a couple of days' money to make a few battle scenes, but could they not have filmed the battle of Stirling Bridge on a bridge? Three stars are for the first half of the film - the rest was a degeneration into sheer mawkishness and adolescent entertainment of the worst kind. And film of the year - no, please, let it pass History I at university first, and then pretend to history.

Summary: Mel Gibson's finest.
Review: This movie is simply breathtaking. Of course it isn't historically accurate, but it is a grand epic. The acting is superb, particularly Mel Gibson as William Wallace. The movie is visually stunning. The soundtrack is excellent. I have heard that James Cameron heard it and knew he had to get Horner to do Titanic, even though they had worked together in the past and had difficulties. You simply have to see this movie. It is my personal favorite, and it is one of the best.

Summary: A Triumph!
Review: People are not paying attention to history while viewing this picture, they are learning. Learning not of history, but, rather...learning how to live, and love, and to fight hard for what one believes in...to go it alone, no matter what it costs. Wallace was an extremely tortured soul, with very good reason. Ask yourself: "What would I do if someone slashed my mate's throat?" It certainly gets my gears turning, and my blood boiling. He did exactly what I would've done, AVENGE! He had balls. Sorry, no history book ever taught me these things. History=BORING! This movie is not trying to be accurate, it's trying to wake people up, to make them appreciate things most of us take for granted......to fight, and never give up. To love with all of your heart and soul. Passion just oozes from me when I watch this movie, over and over and over again. It is my roadmap to life. It stirs something in me, something that has been dormant for too long. Missed it on the big screen, what a shame. This movie changed the way I am living my life......for real. FREEDOM!

Summary: Superb
Review: A truly superb film, despite its detractors. Epic in scope and grand in vision, the characters never get lossed in the "big picture" and always remain human to us. The clearest evidence of this quality in the film is that my wife, who is no fan of war movies, thoroughly enjoyed it, since she could relate to the characters so well and so consistently. For the boys out there, there are also simply breathtaking battle sequences. So, if you have not seen "Braveheart" do yourself a favor and see it now. It is amazing to me that Paramount have not yet released the DVD edition. Are they all asleep over there?
