Rating: Summary: Best Movie Ever Made Review: Although it may it may have had some historical inaccuracies (Battle of Falkirk, use of impaling spears), the photography, direction, and script are well done, especially compared to other movies about historical generals, (The Saint etc.). Well worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Simply Amazing Review: I've seen this picture about a hundred thousand times, and it still gives me a tickling sensation and goosebumps. My heart pounds, my adrenaline flows; my body foolishly prepares for battle. It makes me want to grunt as loud as I can. The battle scenes in this movie are that darn good. It's never portrayed as a good thing to fight for the sake of fighting. It's the good fight: against an evil tyrant. This good vs. evil theme is present throughout the movie along with the stereotypes of being a poor working-class man. (How many peasants spoke Latin then?)
Rating: Summary: The greatest movie ever Review: I've seen the movie Bravehear over 100 times, and recently purchased it on DVD. It is, in my opinion, the best movie ever. I know most every line in the movie and am a fan of Mel Gibson. The movie is graphic but very exciting and while William Wallace is an extrodanary person, he is very a believable character. While I am sure there are some falsifications, I know there was a lot of truth to it. Every time I hear the Freedom speech I still get chills down my spine, even though I know every word to it. It is a movie that evokes pride from any patriot, and its no wonder it won multiple Academy Awards. (5 I think) Anyways, Every one should see it once, and every one that does see it once probably wants to see it again.
Rating: Summary: Excellent movie of courage and bravery. Review: One of my favorite movies. Mel Gibson does a excellent job of playing William Wallace. He shows great patriotism and courage in this movie. I definitely like how he was willing to defend and die for his country. Very detailed battle scenes which gives you a taste of how destructive war and battle can be, and how people lived in the 13th century. 3 hours of non stop action and dramatical scenes which capture all kinds of audiences. One of the great things about this film is the ending. Cant give away the story, but how the scottish continue to defend their country and stick together is what makes this film a must have for DVD fans. Parents, it may be too graphic for young children though.
Rating: Summary: Five Stars for Braveheart Review: In this movie Mel Gibson plays William Wallace, a Scottish commoner who becomes a hero fighting against the English rule of the Scots. This movie has a great story behind it and won many awards. It is a very long movie (almost 3 hours) but there is never a dull moment. Braveheart is an action movie that also includes a love story. This movie appeals to most audiences and is known as one of the best movies ever.
Rating: Summary: "Every man dies, not every man truly lives" Review: The words of William Wallace (Mel Gibson) ring true throughout the three hour epic. Braveheart is a story about a man with two horrifying experiances in his life due to the forces of the English laws over Scotland. It is a grand story of a hero who leads a nation to its freedom. Although longer than the average film, it is never boring with horrific battles, classic love, classic heroism, and above all good triumphing over evil. Along with the amazing plot there are also a lot of truths to the words of Wallace throughout the film. Anyone who wants to enjoy three hours of an incredible story worthy of its price should get this.

Rating: Summary: defineately deserved Best Picture . . . Review: this movie is great! director Mel Gibson really proves himself with this film. "Braveheart" won 5 Academy Awards - including Best Picture for 1995. Gibson's epic tells the story of William Wallace, the Scottish warrior who leads a revolt against English oppressors. the acting is great, and the battle scenes are fantastic and surreal. look past the blood and gore, and you've got a beautiful platter of sound, screenplay, costume deisgn, makeup, cinematography, and art - altogether a fabulous film. i almost cried at the end, but then i knew it was coming. this is a must-have DVD! personally, i don't like bloody films, but this movie is one of the few exceptions.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I first saw this movie on VHS. When DVD players came out I knew I had to buy it - so I did. And it is well worth it. Not only are the action scenes great but the story, whether true or not, is awesome.
Rating: Summary: Simply Anti English Propaganda Review: Sophie Marceau is wonderful. Patrick MaGoohan as the English king steals this movie. It is a sad day when the only character in a movie who is remotely sympathetic or interesting is the homicidal monarch. But that is most definitely the case here. The rest is just an Australian's diatribe against the English. Well, they can never forget where they came from. This definitely did not deserve the Oscar for Best Picture. The battle scenes are uninspiring - See Kurosawa's "Ran" if you want battles. Or the start of "Gladiator". And of course to further his anti-English stance, he has to denigrate the character on one of Scotland's true heroes - Robert the Bruce. No this movie is very poor from which ever way you look at it. And then to add insult to injury, it wimps out at the end by not showing him being quartered.
