Review: I have never been a fan of anime films and such but when I saw this movie I was blown away. I have seen it three times now and each time it gets better. The writing, animation, and music draws you in to a story line filled with love, hate, conflict and resolution. You don't need to understand anime or know what manga is to appreciate the greatness of this movie. There are no excessivly gory fights, head sized boobs, sexual scenes or other rather adult aspects often found in anime films. But despite this, this is not one for the little kids.
All and all you will absolutly LOVE Princess Mononoke and find yourself probably watching it every day. Enjoy :)

Summary: A majestic, passionate, eloquent homage to the Earth.
Review: The artwork of this film is astonishing. Set primarily in the forests of ancient Japan, the scenery is lush with life, vivid with depth and detail. The scenery is in some cases so gorgeous it will take your breath away.

But the story, too, stands out from the crowd. Written by Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki and adapted into English by writer Neil Gaiman, Princess Mononoke is the story Ferngully wanted to be. It tells of a great clash between humans and nature, with the animal gods and forest spirits rallying to stave off encroaching devasation. The archetypal figures, such as the Night Walker, are magnificent, but there are also the smaller gods and fey beings for a lighter touch.

Review: I abosolutally loved this movie, the message inside is far beyond any delivered in some time. The Dvd itself is not quite as exsqisuite, but still I thinks it's worth every sent.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: In my opinion, this movie is extremely underappreciated. This movie contains a wonderful and original story set in an interesting time-period. It contains many themes and ultimately makes you think. In addition it provides some of the most beautiful artwork I've ever seen and an amazing score.

It is unfortunate that so many Americans shy away from it for these very reasons, (mainly because it's an animated feature). Not everyone will enjoy this movie. If you like fantasy or sci-fi, you'll like this movie. If you like movies that make you think, you'll like this movie. If you like foreign film, you should see this movie. And if you like anime, you'll definitely want to see this movie. BUT please, do NOT mistake this for a kiddie movie. It is NOT.

I thoroughly enjoy this movie time and time again. It takes my breath away. I absolutely fell in love with the characters, the world, the story, EVERYTHING! If you are even remotely interested, please give this movie a chance, you'll probably enjoy it. Just one word of caution, watch the version with subtitles. The dub is not as good as people make it out to be. Believe me when I say this movie is a masterpiece.

Summary: Truly an animated work of art
Review: I have adored this movie ever since I frist saw it about 3 years ago. This is an enchanting epic story that has it all--action, adventure, romance, man against nature, and mythology. I showed this movie to my little brothers (8 and 11 at the time), and they couldn't get enough of it. I think every true anime fan owes it to themselves to see this movie at least once.

Review: Ok..I don't own this DVD, but I really want it. I rented it today and I loved it!! The plot is very good, and shows how humans ruin the earth. The music was really pretty..I liked the score a lot; it is one of the best in an anime besides Cowboy Bebop. The animation was really good, and so were the sounds. When I watched it, I thought, YES! ANIME WITH BASS AT LAST! I loved the wolves too! Ok..and now for the reasons it is PG13. There is a lot of violence, blood and gore, and some adult language. There are some scary parts too. Ok..the dubbing was pretty good. Erm what else can I say..uh...Princess Mononoke is up there with my favorites, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, and Trigun ^_~ Ok I'll shut up now, buh bye!

Summary: One of Miyazaki's Finest!
Review: I've always been a fan of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, but really this is what started it all for me! 1999, Princess Mononoke hit theaters, I was there just for fun with some friends, but this movie somehow impacted me, and then I became like the greatest fans really, I have like every movie he's done! This movie has an awesome, interesting, magical story, about a forest god and everything, action packed, oooh it's so great! ....

Summary: A must-see for the otaku
Review: This is a beautifully animated movie, called Mononoke Hime in Japanese. The music is...all I'm going to say is "Arigatou, Joe Hisashi!" Yes, it does have some blood and gore, namely samurai cutting each other's heads and limbs off in battle. It's based on a Japanese poem, and contains a bunch of references to feudal Japanese culture, such as the kodama and the forest spirit. Otherwise, it's a wonderful story. Have fun! (Note that this review was written by a fifteen year old otaku (anime fan))
