Summary: Pirates Of The Caribbean, A Must See
Review: This is a great movie and i encourage anyone older than 8 to go see it. Take family and friends. There are some wonderful one liners in it like, from Johnny Depp:"Please Don't do any thing Stupid." Drama Comedy and Romance all rolled into one film. The Pirates of the Caribbean is a must see for hte entire family.

Summary: A definite good time movie
Review: i saw pirates of the caribbean twice already and am planning to go a few more times, johnny depp is hilarious as Capt. Jack Sparrow, orlando bloom continues to shine in his movie career with this movie as Will Turner, kiera knightley diappointed me because she never ate with the crew of the black pearl (see the movie and you'll get the joke)but she definitely shines as Elizabeth Swan. With the dreaded summer sequel season in full swing this movie is like a breath of fresh air, with such sequels as Bad Boys II, 2fast 2furious,Tomb Raider and others currently showing pirates will make you laugh until you cry and with a sequel on the way this movie definitely doesn't disappoint

Summary: Only movie of the summer
Review: Summer is usually full of big movies and this is no exception on that rule. You will, however, find this to be probably the most enjoyable film of the summer. While it is a little bit on the long side and some of the battle scenes are drawn out too much, it never lets down.

The only qualm I have about it is a few points in the plot. What really makes this movie a must see is Depp's performance of the hilariously drunk Captain Jack Sparrow. Depp steals every scene he's in and makes you laugh on facial expressions alone. He also has to have one of the most memorable enterance scenes on the planet.

All in all, it has its flaws, but its money well spent in my opinion. Hey, its better than Termenator 3...

Summary: Orlando at His Best
Review: The Pirates Of The Carribean:Curse Of the Black Pearl was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It as a little bit of everything in it. From Action To romance. I have seen almost all of Orlando's films and this was his greatest. He is such a young talented actor. Johnny Deep was also amazing. He made an almost serious movie funny.
i believe this move is great for everyone. I am going to be the frist to buy it on DVD.

Summary: 3.5 stars is more accurate
Review: First, let's clarify one thing up front -- the primary reason to see this movie is Johnny Depp. His portrayal of Jack Sparrow is an amazing performance. Second, Orlando Bloom also shines in his role as Will Turner. With his success in the 'Lord of the Rings' films and this, I'm sure he will be busy with many other film offers.

The main problem with the film is the pacing and storyline. There are so many scenes that should have either been shortened or completely dropped -- a good example is the whole dismembered forearm bit with the Governor when the pirates board his ship. What did that add to the story? Instead of comedy it became a cliche. (And that is beside the fact that he was such a cookie cutter character anyway). The film as a whole suffers from being much too long (2 hours, 40 minutes approximately).

And did anyone believe the transformation of the Governor's daughter (played by the very plucky Keira Knightley) from social butterfly to swashbuckling heroine? Perhaps her education included fencing as well as sailing lessons? The issue is that the script failed to provide enough background to make it believable. Other characters, like the Commodore, were so stereotypical that you just couldn't care about them.

The special effects were good and the photography was gorgeous. It is the story that was the ultimate downfall of this film. The ending was so ridiculous that I couldn't believe that someone (producer? director? anyone?) didn't demand a rewrite. I can't specify the ridiculous aspects without giving away the ending for those who have not seen it. Suffice it to say that it was silly and untrue to the characters, not to mention against all common sense.

And now for the good part - Depp's performance. Depp's Jack Sparrow is a swaggering pirate with an eloquent tongue and razor-sharp mind. His entrance sets the tone for the rest of the performance. It is a brilliant visual joke that is followed by many more. Depp creates a lovable hero/villain that is memorable for many reasons. He delivers comic lines and performs difficult physical comedy with ease. When he is not on the screen (fortunately that is rare) the film drags. It is his performance, supported by Bloom, Rush, and Knightley in particular, that makes the movie worth your time.

Summary: PIRATES is a MUST SEE !!
Review: This movie has pirates, swordplay, amazing f/x and a great story line and is a MUST SEE for the family. The story line was great and the special FX that immediately transform the body of a cursed pirate into a raggedly skeleton as he steps into moonlight is amazing (the transition is seamless). I took both my boys, ages 9 and 7, and they both LOVED it, and the skeleton pirates did not scare them at all. Plus there is NO swearing or nudity to worry about.

Summary: Want to see it again and again.......
Review: I've already seen this twice and am ready to go again! There's a lot to see in this film....great performances, beautiful scenery, attractive actors and actresses(okay not ALL of them).....and ACTION ACTION ACTION!

The film comes in at almost 2 hours and 30 minutes, but you get so caught up in the movie, time goes by quickly and it doesn't seem that long!

This is, by far, Johnny Depp's best performance EVER(and his best film!).....

Definately one you can take your whole family to, although the youngest ones may be frightened by the cursed Pirates! But it's a good kind of scary! Go and ENJOY! Pure escapism for a summer afternoon......and you don't feel guilty afterwards!

Summary: Light comedy-adventure that makes you feel like a kid again
Review: Yeah, yeah, so it's nowhere close to historically accurate or logically possible...go rant on a blog. The rest of us will be busy having a good time.

When I saw Pirates of the Caribbean last night I have to admit that I went into it half expecting it to be, well, stupid. I mean, how could a script based on a Disneyland ride amount to anything that wasn't extremely contrived, over the top and insulting to my intelligence?

Two words: Johnny Depp.

Depp delivers a hilarious performance in this comedy adventure that adds just the right amount of self-parody to keep POTC from degenerating into a silly would-be fairy tale. All the elements of standard pirate legend are included of course: lost treasure, ghosts, desert islands, derring-do sword fights, sea battles and even the beautiful maiden being forced to walk the plank at gunpoint. What'll keep you from boredom with the predictability of it all is the wild card element in the form of "Captain" Jack Sparrow (Depp), hamming it up with flair and wit. There's just enough irony in this character to keep the self-conscious pirate movie formula at bay - and let's face it ladies, even with the grungy hair and bad eyeliner, Depp's never hard to look at.

The rest of the cast is admirably selected for their straight-man roles, and do great jobs. The film's pacing is like a good, light romp through adventureland. The pirate ghosts, while graphically portrayed as corpses in moonlight thanks to CGI, are realistic enough to be scary but not so much so that I couldn't let an elementary school-age kid see it (I would have considered this a PG at worst). There are even great moments of surprise when you'll recognize scenes from the ride being fit in cleverly and (sometimes) almost too quickly to notice before they're gone.

So bring the family and be prepared for a nearly old-fashioned pirate tale with plenty of laughs. If you are at all capable of enjoying the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland, you should be able to have fun watching this movie.

Summary: 2 words: Johnny Depp
Review: This movie is by far the best I have ever seen. Not only are the graphics fantastic, but Johnny Depp brings to life a brilliant character that should no doubt be the one he's known for. With a wonderful mix of humor, romance, and action, this movie is sure to keep you on the edge of your seats. The music and scenes were just made for each other. In my opinion, the movie was not long enough.

Summary: Awesome!!!
Review: This was a awesome movie. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD!! Orlando Bloom plays Will Turner and Johnny Depp plays Captain Jack Sparrow. They team up to save Will Turners love interest Elizabeth Swann who is taken by the Pirates of the Black Pearl. And Jack is after the Black Pearl to once again regain his ship.

It is a awesome movie i could watch it over and over!
