Review: I happen to like the TREMORS movies so this movie was somewhat interesting to me. However, my wife who is not a Tremors fan, thought it was stupid. My biggest problem is that I'm not a huge fan of the prequel concept. Notwithstanding that, it was fun seeing Michael Gross do what he does best.

Summary: The Tale Continues
Review: I've followed this series from its begining. . . and particularly liked #1 and #3 where Michael Gross did a terrific job of carrying on the tale of the graboids and their various mutations. In this prequel, the series is aptly continued or perhaps started with a genuinely delightful tale of comedy and mayhem. Michael Gross scores again as an actor of wide talent and the ability to have a story revolve around his leading character. In my library this is a keeper!

Summary: GROSSLY INFERIOR BUT FUN
Review: It seems sometimes that "prequels" result when moviemakers know they have a good franchise, but don't know where to take it. So, let's go back and show people how this all started. This can work, but in the case of the Tremors franchise, this movie is sorely below par. Michael Gross was fun as Bert in the first movie, but ever since, he's managed to become more and more irritating and less enjoyable. His attempts to embody the "perfect gentlemen" from the east in 1890 Nevada fall short of anything but ridiculing his acting and the Gummer franchise. There's not a lot of action in this one, either..too many scenes of the vistas and riding horses. The script also fails to explain why the townspeople feel such an urgent need to have Gummer stay, when he can't shoot the side of a barn and he's about as manly as a cactus plant. Only in the end do we begin to see the shapings of the Gummer character that will result in the artillery-fanatic Bert.
Sara Botsford does a nice job as Christine Lord, but the rest of the cast merely fill the genre-required roles.
A disappointing entry in the TREMORS series, that indicates they should quit while they're still ahead. 3 vs. 1 isn't so bad to rest your laurels on.

Summary: OK Prequel, worth a viewing
Review: It's definitely watchable....which is more then I can say about the same movie in the From Dusk Till Dawn Series; that's what I compare the Tremors sequels and prequels to. None of them are the same quality as the original, or really even close for that matter.
The prequel lacks the star quality that Bacon brought, it lacked the comedy that existed between Bacon and Ward had. In addition, Ward and Bacon had a relationship most people can relate w/. That kind of relationship you have w/a best friend, or w/your brother/sister. There is nothing like that in this movie.
What I did like about this movie is they try and grow the roots by having similar characters that would be the ancestors of the characters in the original Tremors. They did a solid job w/that aspect.
I was disappointed that in the first 25 minutes, 18 people had died from the "Dirt Dragons," but you had yet to see one.
Michael Gross keeps his career moving and his name tied to anything that has anything to do w/the Tremors series. He is an obvious distant relative of his character in the original. He's pretty much useless in the movie; I was hoping he would die (but I knew he wouldn't). Of course, he saves the day at the end.
As a whole, the movie is worth giving a rent if you truly like the series. If you love the series, it is worth buying. As I said watchable, but nowhere near as good as the first one, or even in the same league for that matter.

Summary: For Michael Gross fans only
Review: OK, I liked all the 3 previous Tremors films. Even when the budget sank lower with each successive sequel, at least the things were funny. Tremors 4, sadly, isn't even all that funny. The film is way too talkly, with very little action to speak of. Yeah, it's cool to see the beginning of the "graboids," and Michael Gross deserves credit for his 180 degree turn from our beloved Bert Gummer. And the film isn't without its minor charms (the town of Perfection--as much a character in this series as Gummer himself--started out with the lamentable name "Rejection"), and those may be enough to satisfy die-hard fans.In the supplemental materials, the crew (and Gross) liken this film to the original Tremors. I sure hope they go back and watch the first film before making another one.

Summary: Tremors 4(2004 Horror) PG-13
Review: The Tremors series is either something one loves or hates; I doubt there is much middle ground. I feel Tremors (the first) is the best, and this prequel is a worthy addition. Staring Michael Gross as Bert's either grandfather or great grandfather was terrific. And so is the women playing what would become the Gross-Reba role in the first movie. As Hiram evolved from the east coast Dandy to a more take charge person, it was done with affection and keeping in character. There are not blow your mind special effects, just competent and fun special effects. This is a movie more about the characters and the unknowns (worms) and their interactions. Black Hand Kelly is a great role in this movie and there is just enough homages to the first movie to make a good link. Perhaps less tongue in cheek and fewer laughable quips, but the pace is brisk and entertaining. I really loved the ending scene. This is a must addition to fans of this franchise, and holds the promise of more movies in this series. Set in the silver mine town of Rejection, Nevada, which becomes Perfection, Nevada in movie #1. If you like sci-fi without the multi million dollar effects, you will like this movie.

Summary: Big Fun
Review: This film is pure fun and you can feel it in every scene.
Tremors 4 looks backwards at the origins of the town of Perfection and the Graboids. In making this a prequel, everything old is new again. We get the excitement of discovery all over again and we get to see the townsfolk REALLY scared.
For horror/action fans, this film is a real treat. Without a mega-budget, we're treated to innovative and exciting effects. Tremors 4 is a nod to the great horror and adventure films of he past. It's obvious how much passion the cast and crew put into this.
I'm a big fan of "Buffy," so I love the way this story blends humor, scares, action and the mythology of past films. If you've seen the other films, there are a ton of jokes and reference that you'll love here.
Tremors 4 is great entertainment for any monster fan.

Summary: Tremors 4 - The Legend Begins
Review: This is one of the worst films that i have ever seen. It does not even come close to the class of the 3rd one, never mind the 1st. The first hour went by and i could have easily been mistaken that this was not a tremors film, with hardly no graboid action at all. Michael Gross, as Hiram, is a total plank, nothing like the Bert we all know and love. I have just thrown this dvd into the bin and good riddens.

Summary: A great prequel
Review: This is the fourth entalshment in series. In you loved tremors true this sequel combines scifi with a western. A lot better than the last scifi western I saw which was wild wild West andf Okey Film. In tremors 2 you had the shreker in tremors 3 you had the ashblasters. Tremors 4 arrived a fourth stage of the graboid. It called the dirt dragon it is the infite form of the Graboid is about 3 feet long. Other than Michel gross none of the charters from the previous movie are in it. It takes place in 1880 in Refrection Nevada. It is the same towm from the first three just a different name. If you will enjoy this I recomend the other three tremors and the critters series.
