We root for the good guys and wince with their every setback. There is no profanity and the story is delightful for all the family. I recommend this movie for anyone who wants to feel better about life!

The performance of the lovely Robin Wright as Princess Buttercup is rivaled only by that of Andre the Giant's portayal of the ineminable Fezzik. In addition, the hilarious hijinks of Inigo Montoya as he wastes his life in a hopeless, drunken stupor can be enjoyed by children of all ages. This movie truly has the frivolity of Weekend at Bernie's 2 coupled with the intense malaise of Shaft Goes to Africa.

Review: Mere words cannot describe how good this movie is! Who needs sex and guts when you've got true love? I was at first disappointed when I saw what my brother had gotten for me. "The Princess Bride?" I said distastfully, "and a princess named 'Buttercup' give me a break!" But I watched it and ended up watching it again and again! I read the book although I like the movie better. Funny, romantic, action... what more do you need?

Review: The first time that I saw this movie it just filled me with sheer joy. And to have gone back and seen it over a couple of dozen times (yes, I too have ruined a copy of the video by watching it again and again) really makes you appreciate how well the author and now the director have managed to show the essence of a good relationship...unconditional love. Sure, this was supposed to be a fairy tale. But I'd rather believe that it really happened. You can watch and decide for yourself! END
