Summary: Surround sound punch/action/romance
Review: This is a movie that everyone needs to own. The storyline from beginning to end is spell binding. Good guys, bad guys, heroines, they're all there. Quite a bit of action, but it seems "real" (at times too real!) for the time period in the movie. I am waiting/watching weekly for this to come out on DVD. A must buy! Put it in, crank up the surround sound, and enjoy.

Summary: a film worth owning
Review: The mark of a great film is one that can be watched every few months or so and still pull you into it, whether it be the acting, or the plot, or the romance, or the action, or all of these and more. "The Last of the Mohicans" makes the grade in spades. In either laser disc or DVD, the stunning cinematography and superb soundtrack accentuate, not overwhelm, the drama and fine acting. The screenplay is, in fact, more coherent than J.F. Cooper's original novel. Every frame is a visual masterpiece. The tension and subdued fury of the relationship between Daniel Day Lewis and Madeline Stowe is a perfect and compelling depiction of love in the middle of an apocalypse. It's still the incredibly beautiful Stowe's best role to date, and Day Lewis is very good indeed. Plus, Wes Studi's "Magua" is a portayal that conveys pure evil yet somehow forces you to be sympathetic. If your soul isn't stirred by this film, your life support was shut off. Buy this movie.

Summary: First class photography of blue ridge mtns and forests
Review: This was an engaging movie. It should have never received an R rating. It had no cursing or nudity. There are violent scenes of scalping and fierce fighting which probably gave the R rating to the film The love story was in excellent taste and dealt with the hardships of life realistically. Filmed on location in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina the scenery is spectacular. The historical content and costumes were excellent. Daniel Day Lewis gives an outstanding performance. Several of the actors in the film are actually American Indians. It displays the character of the people facing adversity and how they courageously dealt with it. Its a shame that Hollywood doesnt turn out more decent films. Most of what Hollywood turns out is fit only for the sewer.

Summary: One of the most gripping movies of its genre.
Review: This movie is incredible! The soundtrack alone can move me, and seeing the pain that Magua has endured, the insolence of the British, and the incredible scenery was just awesome."I will find you, you stay alive!"

Summary: Cinematic magic
Review: Wish I'd seen this on the big screen to experience the full impact of the cinematography and the stirring musical score which gave the film so much 'atmosphere': drama, foreboding, passion, tenderness and tautness. Forget the historical inaccuracies - this movie is emotionally quite overwhelming.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Definitely makes the short list...great movie.
Review: Incredible soundtrack, lush cinematography, awesome story. I especially like the "fierceness" of the love between Hawkeye and Cora; beautiful honor and integrity (reminds me of William Wallace and Murron in Braveheart...).

Summary: Mohicans; Excellent
Review: This is a great movie. Although not much like the book, it is still great. The plot is good and the action scenes are as well. This has to be one of my favorite movies. My favorite character has to be Magua, he is so cool. Daniel-Day Lewis does a good job but I prefer the lesser characters in the movie. This is great, get it now.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A soul-stirring adventure that satisfies on all levels.
Review: This movie reaches deep inside of me and touches my soul as few stories ever have. As much as the love story of Hawkeye and Cora moves me, so does the sub-plot of the desire by Uncas for Alice. The cinematography, score and complex plot keep me spellbound, and I watch this movie again and again. A masterpiece!

Summary: Beautiful Imagery and Music
Review: One of the best movies I have seen. I adore the movie for the music and cinematography, as well as the intensely romantic scenes...I did not read the novel, but own both the VHS and laserdisc releases, and DVD soon...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best movies I've seen!
Review: OK, so maybe it's not completely accurate to the book, but it's a great movie nonetheless. The cinematography is unbelievable--each scene is choreographed perfectly. The score is unbelievable, and I highly recommend the soundtrack. The first half hour of the movie is a little slow, but after that you will be caught up in the story. An amazing movie--worth watching over and over!
