Summary: My heart will go on... and on... and on
Review: This movie has two things going for it: the first is Leo. That freewheeling, sensitive, I-draw-hot-european-women-naked lifestyle really appealed to me. I bet most guys think they would be like Jack Dawson if they didn't have crappy jobs and lame families. The film's second strength is flatware: holy Martha Stewart Steamer! Where did they get all that stuff?!! Computers can sink a ship, but I think I got a bigger kick out of watching all the china break. That was REAL, man! Otherwise, a compelling if goofily worded love story, an appalling oversimplification of class differences, and an occasionally affecting you-are-there feel help to make 'Titanic' the quintessential modern Hollywood epic, recasting historic human tragedy as empty spectacle.

Summary: It sucked, big time.
Review: this is definitely the most overrated film of all time. If you are note a girl under 14 you can not possibly like it. The special effects last for about 3 minutes, the story is predictable. Boy likes girl, girl has a bad boyfriend, boy gets with girl, boy dies. How original is this? The dialogue is terrible, and frankly I do not think that Di Caprio is really agood actor. tHe only good part is when he finally dies at the end. Finally, I hope I never here Celine Dion's song ever again!

Summary: The Ship Sinking is the best part of it
Review: There are millions of 14-year old girls out there who are sighing into their pillow each night at the thought of Leonardo DiCaprio. Even though I'm in the same age bracket and gender as them, thankfully I'm not in the same state of insanity. That maybe why I don't worship this movie as so many people do.

Good things about this movie? Sure, they abound. And they're called "special effects". Truly, they're awe-inspiring, and the amount of technical detail that go into this make it worth seeing.

Somehow, though, I don't think most people will see it for the technical detail.

Yes, the love story is *truly* drippy. I hated the "Rose" character as a crone, as a girl, and then as a kooky crone again. I did like the "Jack" character initially, but as soon as he started swooning for Rose, I got bored.

Whenever Cameron takes the time to consider the faceless masses on the Titanic, the movie swings up again. With the length of the movie, he does manage to fit surrounding characters into it, and I appreciated that. But whenever he hit the "Rose and Jack" plot, the movie comes to a standstill.

James Cameron should get down on his knees every night and thank the powers that be that hormonal girls paid over and over to see the same, mindless plot. Besides that, there's only the wonderous special effects, and that's a slim reason to see a movie.

Summary: Titanic 90210
Review: The movie is a flawed masterpiece.....and that's being generous. James Cameron is nothing more than a ripoff artist. He took the best elements of the other two Titanic movies, Titanic (the 1953 version) and A Night To Remember, and called them his own. He even had the audacity to say he was the King of the world at the awards. The 'love' story was so bad, I was expecting the 90210 theme to start any minute. Celine Dion's song at the end didn't help either. Rose's character bothered me. Why would a woman who eventually married someone else (she had pictures of herself living in opulence) carry a torch for someone who died many years ago?? Obviously, the man she eventually married was wealthy and did provide for her. Something that Jack couldn't have done had he lived.

Summary: The film was one of the all time greats
Review: Maybe it did'nt delve into the right subject, but having seen it and bought the video i think that the boy meets girl was the only thing that made the film such a success. Having seen the other movies mabye, steve, does'nt realise that the last couple of movies about the Titanic did'nt pick up 11 oscars including best picture. Ok so the actors could have brushed up a bit on the lifestyle in the early 1900's i.e Kate Winslett, giving Billy Zane's right hand man the swivel as he chased them down the lift. But never the less James Cameron's adaptation of the disaster was finely adjusted in the form of an action packed, romance, which as with some films did'nt drag and did'nt keep you looking at your watch every 10 minutes.

Summary: After 3 times seeing it, it got boring.
Review: The first time seeing it, it was great. The second time, okay. The third time, a little borning. The fourth time it was boring. The special effets stunk and if I ever hear that Celine Dion song again I'll probelly slit my throut.

Summary: Nice Boat...Lousy Story
Review: This film disappointed me so deeply that I have lost serious faith in James Cameron as a writer and the current under-14 female crowd as competent human beings for watching this film over and over again like lemmings.

Want to know the entire story? Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Boy wins back girl. Boy dies of hypothermia.

Jeez, and that's it, folks. No, I'm serious. That's it. Having delved into the history of the Titanic, they could've gone into so much depth and detail about so many other things...but didn't. Millions upon millions of dollars making it look like it's actually sinking, and no one bothers to pay even a hack writer $1.88 to touch up the script.

I'm giving this movie 2 stars - 1 for the absolutely insane stupid plot, and another for the special effects (mainly, the boat sinking). I'd wait until some big network pays for this monstrosity and shows it on TV.
