Rating: 2 stars
Summary: not on par with gone with the wind
Review: Clark Gable probably turned over in his grave when people said Titanic was comparable to GWTW. Leo Dicaprio was extremely childish a role that should have been played by a more masculine man.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Titanic was a very good movie.
Review: In my opinion, james Cameron did an excellent job and directig this movie, Not only did he show actual scenes of the sunken boat, he was also very factual and precise about dates and times. The actors in this movie deserve more credit than they were given. They also ad to endure freezing waters while making this movie. I say way to go everyone.

Summary: An awesome experience
Review: This is a great movie. The special effects are flawless and spectacular but the movie would succeed as a story even without the special effects. I'm ready to shell out $30 or so for the dvd edition as soon as its available. Don't be disuaded from seeing this film by the astonishing (and often illiterate) negative reviews found here. I suspect that most of the people fulminating about Titanic can be found on the list of those giving rave reviews to the likes of Terminator II, Armagedon, and Independence Day. I was particularly amused by the insightful reviewer who asserted Jack Dawson was "Irish" and took offence at his missing accent! Wonder what movie she was watching. Then there's the guy who said it was great the first time but was disappointed at being bored on the third repeat. Duh.

Summary: Big boat sinks. Dialog stinks.
Review: This is a disaster in more ways than one. Best (or worst) line from the movie: "We have to stay on this ship!" Acting lessons for everyone, please.

Summary: I am very upset at your rating!
Review: Titanic was the most wonderful movie I ever saw and it deserves more than a measley 3 and a half stars! I have seen an awful lot of movies and never, and i mean, NEVER, have I seen one as touching as Titanic.

Summary: Heart will go on?? No, life will go on!!
Review: What can I say, the movie wasn't worth a single academy award! The only thing I liked was the bad boyfriend (Billy Zane), who is (compared to DiCaprio) a good actor!

Summary: Classic
Review: There was a documentary of how the movie Titanic was made, and how the 'ship-set' was designed. Some of the rooms weren't actually in the ship-set, but they were constructed almost to perfection, as old photos and 'innership' cameras passing through the real Titanic show. It also said that James Cameron took an approximate 2 years researching, even before filming. Old photographs of the ship's Captain look identical to the actor playing him in the movie, as do other notable photographs, representing 'Titanic's incredible accuracy. The film displays the terror that probably went on in and around the ship the night that horrible event occurred, the realism the movie presents makes you think you're watching the actual event. Some complain that it's the same old plot, well, what was supposed to happen? The Army hovering overhead with armed helicopters shooting everyone up? A man with a gun holding the captain for ransom would have been ridiculous. Oh, and don't forget those pirates. What other alternative plot could there have been that was set in that time which could be credible for a movie based on an event that happened 83 years ago? Compare Titanic to other films based in the early 1900's. Without all the laser pistols, grenades, and lear jets, there's only so much you can go on IMO, and "Titanic" is a movie that's a hell of a succesful showing of unbelievable accuracy mixed with premiere fictional writing and wondrous cast chemistry. Hell of a job, Jim

Summary: This is a great movie!!
Review: It is very obvious (and lame)why people here are putting this movie down so much. The reason why: jealousy of Leo Di Caprio!! This movie is excellent!! Anyone with a half a brain can see that!! The acting is good. Leo has done better, but he is not bad in this at all. Can you jealous people stop dissing this wonderful movie just because you are green with envy? It just makes you look like petty fools!! I highly recomened this movie. It is not a monstrosity at all!! If it is why was it such a huge hit at the box office? Another thing too. I am not a 14 year old girl or under and I love this movie!!
