Summary: Van Damme fans only...
Review: I struggle with this movie. I'm a die-hard fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme, so part of me really likes this movie. But the other part knows that this is a very subpar direct-to-video with a slow script, uninteresting characters, and horrendously bad acting (save for JCVD himself). Having said this, I can honestly reccomend it to fans of Van Damme. They will certainly have a good time watching the muscles from Brussles kick the tar out of some low-life hicks while drinking with his Indian buddy and pickin' up chicks. If this appeals to you, there shouldn't be any reason why you wouldn't like "Desert Heat." If even one of this doesn't sound good, stay far away.

Summary: Good,but still dissapointing...
Review: Jean Claude Van Damme had a great run in the late 80's and early to mid 90's,but sad to say I think his generation of film has passed,now the majority of action fans want high priced special effects and a superstitious plot.Van Damme has been criticized for having little or no acting skills.Even though none of his films have ever gotten"two thumbs up" he has had still to this day very loyal fans like myself who would watch him before stallone or shwarzenegger because he brings incredible charisma to movies and always does his own fight sequences.Now I guess I'll critizise "Desert Heat".The storyline is a dissapointing one but the supporting cast is farely well in my mind with Jamie Presley.The overall action is alright, but typical Van Damme,nothing that you haven't seen from him before.The acting performance which I look at since some say he can't act is alright in this movie.I think the character doesn't fit Van Damme because he usually deals with more dangerous villians,in this movie he deals with a bunch of low life rednecks.The film is good but not something I'd watch over and over again.

Summary: A total surprise...
Review: Most people is the U.S. have seen a Van-Damme film in their life, and as we all know, they are usually pretty good for what they are, high grade action movies. It is also well known that Van-Damme can't act. Keeping all these things in mind, I picked up his two latest direct to video features, Desert Heat and Legionairre, and lord, was I surprised. Desert Heat and Legionairre are the best Van-DAmme movies ever. Not only that, but they are some of the best action movies I have ever seen. Van Damme is 10 times better than Arnold or Sly, and he ACTS! Desert Heat is an immensly satisfying modern Western. It has the feel of the first half of FROM DUSK TILL DAWN (the part without the vampires). I highly reccomend thihs to anyone who enjoys this genre. It should also be noted that this and Legionairre should have been released in theatres, and KNockoff and Universal Soldier II should have gone to video, because this would have greatly widened Van DAmme's fan base.

Review: The movie has a plot, and all the actors do their job very well. The movie does have action. Pretty much this film takes place in a desert, but it is nice. Jean Claude Van Damme's acting is awesome. The women actresses in the movie are really nice looking. The ending of the film I thought was excellent. I recommend this movie to anyone who has not seen it.

Summary: okay movie to watch for the action scenes.
Review: the start of the movie was very vague in conveying to the viewers what eddie lomax's dilemma was and why he wanted to die. there was not much character interaction between eddie and rhonda, yet they became madly in love. pat morita's character was cute as an english gentlemen with a knack for wrapping corpses up in saran wrap. as a matter of fact, there was a variety of crazy characters to fill in the gaps. the whole plot of the movie, i suppose was how a small town got out from under the control of a family of bullies. except for the actions scenes, there could have been more to the storyline.

Review: There is only one reason for watching Van Damme movies (or most martial arts movies for that matter) and that is to watch the fight scenes. In fact, I usually fastforward most of the dialogue. I never have expectations for the plot or screenplay when I watch one of these. Still, this movie s... There are no good fight scenes in this one and what makes it even worse is that it tries/pretends to be something more than a kickflick. It attempts to dabble with mysticism, spirituality and human condition and fails miserably. More kicking please and no more ...-caliber screenwriters trying to be cerebral.

Summary: A Motorcycle...Van Damme...Alcohol...Does it get any better?
Review: This is one of those Van damme movies where u either hate or u love it...In my case i happen to love it. After riding through the desert....van damme is shot and left to die by some washed up rednecks.. Van damme wakes up and finds his motorcycle stolen!!! Van Damme of course gets a tad angry and goes on a rampage to find his motorcycle....there are motorcycle chases, fighting, rednecks, and whole alot of alcohol...There are also some special apearances like Jamie Presely, and Mr. Miagi from the Karate Kid..Great movie....u might wanna rent it first...unless ur a harcore van damme fan like me....just buy the movie and take my word for it..!!!
