Summary: As Cold as Seagal
Review: "The Foreigner" is one of those movies that try to look smart, but isn't. For once Steven Seagal has made a movie that makes you think, but who cares? Seagal is back in action with bad editing and a hip soundtrack, yes! Watch the lord intercept a mysterious package that uncovers a huge conspiracy linking a rich industrialist to an airplane crash. Whoa, that substantial plot is giving me a headache. Now to the funnies. Steven Seagal plays Jon Cold, "The Foreigner," a deep undercover agent who wants a piece of the pie. Literally, nowadays it looks like he can eat five pies. This movie had minimal action scenes, but they were memorable. As one of Seagal's biggest fans, I found the scenes where he threw an explosive cd at a bad guy to be hilarious! Oh yeah, "You're a rear end!" he yelled at a bad guy and tossed him on the other side of the escalator. Monumental! "Hey you, get away from that girl you!" Seagal's dialogue was genius in this movie. So, support this movie because it's better than "The Transporter."

Review: A MAN TRYS TO DELIVER A PACKAGE TO SOME RICH GUY. BUT, A WHOLE LOTTA PEOPLE TRY TO INTERCEPT THE DELIVERY. A FEW GOOD ACTION SEQUENCES HERE AND THERE, BUT MOST OF THIS MOVIE IS HARD TO WATCH. STEVEN SEAGAL DOESN'T LOOK AS COOL AS HE USED TO, BUT THIS MOVIE IS REALLY HARD TO STOMACH. DIEHARD FANS OF SEAGAL SHOULD LOVE IT. BUT IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A GOOD ACTION MOVIE, DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME. THIS MOVIE HAS SOME DUMB VILLAINS. DESPITE MANY OPPORTUNINTIES TO KILL SEAGAL, NO ONE EVER JUMPS AT THE CHANCE. YOU CAN GO AHEAD AND MISS THIS ONE. YOU'RE NOT MISSING ANYTHING SPECIAL.

Summary: The average Steven Seagal action movie!!
Review: Before I watched this movie I had two people ask why I bought it. I like Steven Seagal movies, even with all the gratuitous violence and high dead body counts, because they are full of action and are usually very entertaining. Having just finished watching the movie, I will say it is not the best Seagal, not close, but it was entertaining. The body count was unduly high, even for Seagal. This movie was at the lower end of his movies I've seen, so it rates about 3. I was a little confused at the end as to who the French guy (or whatever nationality he was supposed to be) was working for, because the bad guys all appeared to be dead(not a big suprise). The European locations where it was shot were excellent and the acting by some of the supporting cast was very humourous at times, such as the guy with the British accent trying to torture Seagal in his apartment. There are several Seagal movies that are better, but if you're a fan of his, give it a watch. You could enjoy it.

Summary: If you like Seagal don't see this one...
Review: Ever see those BMW commercials on TV that were continued on the internet? They kind of had a story tying together the car chases and action and were about a minute long. Well this movie like them but 90 minutes too long.

I like Seagal and he did make fun, interesting action packed movies. Unfortunately this one, along with so many other of his recent movies just plain sucks.

The story is muddled and worthless and the ridiculous violence is just stupid. I like Seagal for action but this is beyond awful. The villians seem to kill everyone with a speaking part except their target, Seagal!

2 typical scenes -

Man to Hotel Clerk
Man: I'm looking for a friend (shows pic)
Clerk: He's upstairs I'll ring him. There's no answer.
Man: Alright then (Bang,Bang shoots clerk)

2 Men in Gas Station:
Man 1: Hey You!Where'd you get that car, it's not yours!
Man 2: Yes it is I bought it from some guy about an hour ago!
Man 1: You dumb Mutha (Bang, Bang!)

Regarding the stylish and slick cinematography and the music, I quote the Great Philosopher Butthead, "You can't polish a turd".

Summary: Seagal Is Back
Review: He took a short break, but now he's back and better than ever-- with "The Foreigner"! I have high expectations for this movie, I am a Seagal fan- so I usually always have high expectations for him, and he never ceases to deliver. Some people may not have thought he was that great in some of his newer movies, but give this one a shot- it's going to be one of his best. It'll hold us over until Under Siege 3(2004)

Summary: What a load of rubbish
Review: Hi my name is Lloyd Duff and I think this film needs to be thrown off a very high cliff. I like Steven Seagal and I am aware that he is in his 50's and cant do his karate like he used to. The story is he is suposed to deliver a package from Poland to go knows where for a rich dude. Most of the film is about his parnter going around pointlessy shooting people who have nothing to do with the movie. Was he mental? Why shoot the old porsche guy at berlin airport? yet help an old womon at the farm? Was he jeaulous of him? of his charming good looks? He could have just Drove away leaving the guy swearing in german and throwing his turino flatcap to to ground and screaming out "hoodlum" WHY MURDER HIM? He could have had money in his briefcase

Summary: Deserves many oscars!
Review: I am fan of action movies, though never before have i really liked one of steven seagals-until The Foreigner. This movie mixes action packed fighting scenes, with witty dialogue, and kept me on the edge of my seat. Move over Arnold, here comes Seagal! this movie is a must buy, and I highly recommend it as a family movie as well!

Summary: Why do I keep watching Seagal movies?
Review: I guess I keep hoping that maybe this one will be like his older movies. You remember...the martial arts. The camera would pan out to expose all of the action leaving nothing to hide. The last few movies have all been the same. Up close, slow-motion, and quickly changing camera angles so that you don't see Seagal (or whoever) doing anything. It's almost cliche now but I have to mention how fat this guy is now. This movie is set in Europe in the winter, and I can almost garauntee that it is so Seagal can wear a huge coat to hide his belly. Maybe the viewer won't think anything of it if everyone is wearing a coat and it's cold out...think again. I have a colection of his older movies which I still watch, but I'm sorry to say that I will never watch another new Seagal movie. His movies have always been stupid, but entertaining because of the martial arts. Without that, they might as well cast any old, fat slob that can hardly move and do some fancy cinematography to try to hide the truth. I have to mention my two favorite parts in this movie. (1) When Seagal and one of the bad guys is walking in an old building to find a disk, Seagal is walking away from the camera and steps up to a higher ledge. Even with the really long coat you can see it strech around his huge pork haunches. (2) Seagal leaves the mother and daughter in the coffee shop to go outside and look around. He takes his gun, opens his coat, and puts the gun in his pants behind the belt on the side. The camera does a close up of this action so that you cannot see that it is a double...same clothes but no huge stomach and spare tire. Come on. Really it's ok if the guy is overweight. He's in his 50's. Just don't insult me. Have some pride. Stop wearing all of the huge coats, using weird and tricky camera angles, and body doubles to hide your stomach.

Summary: Better than Half Past Dead.
Review: I rented and watched this movie last night. It is a kick back to all older seagal movies and its alot better than his other recent movie, Half Past Dead (a movie in which its title might as well describe its content and the description of anybody who actually paid to see it in theatres).

Anyways, back to The Foreigner. It somewhat starts off slow and Seagal doesn't do as much martial arts as he has in past movies. To the contrary, he just sort of walks around blowing stuff up and killing a couple bad guys who deserve it. Other than that though, a decent seagal movie and worth a rental. If you are a Seagal fan, it is good enough to own.
