Summary: The World ended and everyone went to the gym
Review: Plot? None. Acting? None. Suspense? None.

Action? Not! Go watch Jet Li or Jackie Chan for speed and technique, or a mixed martial arts match for realism.

I do have to say that every guy in this move looked like he just stepped out of a gym and 1980s hair salon.

Don't by this worthless movie.

Summary: Hmph
Review: I don't know about other people, but I thought that movie was pretty horrible. Given, fight scenes were OK, but the dialogue was just horrid and half of the movie was just uncoordinated yelling and growling. The storyline was alright, but badly executed. Van Damme did fine on the fight scenes, but the rest of the movie was lacking at best.

Summary: Wild Science Fiction
Review: Wild science fiction but great for this style of movie -- I thoroughly enjoyed this movie but then I like Si-Fi- Would have liked the story a little more rounded out but liked the characters - the settings - the believable bad boys -- one of many in my collection -- not recommended to those who do not like violence -- not a tame movie --- moves along at a good pace.

Summary: Ok, this is really bad, but......
Review: as another viewer pointed out its so bad its good! Lets face it, this WAS the film that made JCVD famous - not Bloodsport. The acting is goofy and the plot thin, but its kind of like a pringles potato chip- you cant eat just one and leave it at that. You'll find yourself watching this again and again.

Summary: Why do people like this movie?
Review: The best way to give you an idea of what this movie is like is to mention that the final fight between Van Damme and Bad Guy takes place in the rain, at night, it is cold and muddy, and Van Damme takes his shirt off. Unfortunately, he doesn't get pneumonia, his kick-boxing career doesn't end, and we end up having to watch at least six bloodsport sequels. Oh well.

If you need to know more than that, keep reading. Van Damme plays a dumb guy who likes to jump kick, who has to protect a female cyborg from evil post-apocolyptic guys who are trying to re-destroy the world. Personally, I don't really know if it MATTERS if the world is destroyed AFTER the apocolypse. I mean, if everything is radioactive and plagued and un-civilized already, making everything radioactive and plagued and uncivilized AGAIN won't make very much difference. But I digress. It's a stupid movie. A very stupid movie.

Maybe if the evil guys were trying to prevent the female cyborg from un-destroying the world. That would be more logical. I must confess that I didn't really leave the movie with much of a sense of the plot, as I was too busy throwing popcorn at the TV screen, hoping a piece would go through the screen and lodge in Van Damme's eye, get infected, and cause him to stop making movies. If you think that makes perfect sense, this movie is right for you.

Summary: ummmmmmm.....not that good
Review: for some reason,i did not like this movie.the only part i liked was the part where van damme was tied ip to the cross and then he kicks it down.this movie,i thought was darker and gloomier than most other van damme movies, and thats part of the reason that i didn't like it.overall boring, and didn't keep my attention

Summary: A Good Movie!
Review: This was one of the earliest Jean Claude Van Damme movies and it was a good one.It was set in a futuristic setting with a futuristic theme. The main selling point in this film were the exciting fight scenes. There were good special effects that added to the excitement of the fight scenes. The acting was mid level but Van Damme is not famous for actin but for his ability to commit combat. That he does very well in this film. This is a good action film that makes for good viewing. Be sure to watch this, you will not be dissapointed. A must see.

Summary: cheesey movie but great haunting music
Review: I admit, the movie is not GREAT, but I love it. I have seen it so many times that I have come to love the music in it, however I haven't found that a soundtrack exists.

The movie itself is set in the post-appocolyptic era. A plague has covered the world and people are dying fast. A cyborg has recently obtained information that would help find a cure, but she is being hunted by the "bad guys". Van Damme steps in to make sure her journey is safe. Along the journey, he keeps having flash backs of the love that he lost (to the "bad guys") and the children (I think her younger siblings) that were traveling with her. Van Damme comes to discover that one of the youngest children was not killed afterall, but was now grown up and traveling with the "bad guys". In the end, the guy gets the girl and the cyborg makes it to her destination safely.

Good (not great) action fights. Poor plot, but sort of like a cult classic (at least in my mind).

Summary: still good after all these years
Review: Award for best villain in a cheezy sci-fi martial arts film goes to: FENDER!!

WOW! That guy has to be the wickedest mother to have ever walked the post-apocalyptic world!

If you do not like this movie, then you are not cool.

Summary: So bad it's good
Review: OK. Let's cut right to the chase here. This is a terrible movie.

It is in fact, so bad, that is transcends badness. It's a trite saying but it really does. There aren't many movies where the topless women aren't perfect in all respects. And you'd never expect them to say "I'll understand if you're not here in the morning." (actual line!)

Other gems of dialogue include: "We can make a better world!" "I like the world the way it is." "Go to Hell!" "Been there."

You can't find that in just any movie!

Of course, since JCVD isn't really worried about showing that he's a brilliant actor, and is instead concentrating on showing how bad he is, you don't really pay much attention to anything but the fighting. And the fighting is rather good.
