Summary: It's a hoot!
Review: "Big Trouble..." is one of those rare flicks that manages to entertain and tell a good fantasy story, while at the same time never taking itself too seriously.

It's fun to watch and never fails to put me in a good mood. A definite addition to any collection.

Summary: "What the Hell ! "
Review: There is only one movie for each decade 70's Chinatown 90's Miller's Crossing 80's BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA! God Blessed the world with this movie to ensure that he actully has something to look foward to every living day. Big trouble in little china wasn't a movie, it was a holy scripture that many people live by day in and day out. Kurt Russell actuly acts like the apocalypse that takes care of all movies that try to be spiritul and action at the same time. When people say that it's Mortal Kombat VS BTILC that's a false statement due to the fact that BTILC was out way before the first video game system was put into effet. Take this movie as a gift from God rather that from John Carpenter. This movie doesn't even compare to 5 stars. It should be compared to the Bible. Don't see this Movie LIVE IT!

Summary: First rate action-adventure-comedy!
Review: john Carpenter and Kurt Russel have joined up again to bring a tale of Chinese Mythology with a modern twist that also brings non-stop action mixed with good comedy to boot! I first saw this movie when it came out in 1986, and I knew it would be a good movie when I first heard Carpenter's music in the introduction. From the first scene to the last, the plot delivers twists and turns that are like a rollercoaster ride. From the Evil David Lo Pan to the hero Jack Burton everyone in this movie delivers. I watch it about once a month and never get bored. I especially enjoy the character of Egg Chen (played by Victor Wong). Highly recommended!

Summary: Explodes like a Chinese firecracker
Review: For non-stop action and entertainment, you can't beat this movie. There is no way any of it could happen in this world, and probably not in the next one, but it's so much fun that we just suspend belief and go along for the ride. And what a ride it is. Our hero, Jack Burton, superbly played by Kurt Russell, and his sidekick, Wang Chi (Dennis Dun), are in a race against time to rescue Wang's girl, a beautiful, green-eyed (huh? ) Chinese immigrant fresh off the plane, who has been kidnapped by the henchmen of a villain named David Lo-Pan, a 2000 year old ghost who must marry a girl with green eyes to restore him to flesh and blood. Along the way, Jack and Wang have to do battle with the Three Storms (thunder, rain and lightning) and a host of nasty bad guys in Lo-Pan's service. By the time Wang's girl is saved from the evil machinations of Lo-Pan, we've been through an incredible roller-coaster ride spiced up with gun-shooting, knife-slinging, things exploding in a ball of green fire, karate chops galore, mid-air swordfighting (yes, these guys actually fly through the air), and a hefty dose of good old black magic. It all adds up to a wild, crazy, hilarious, slambang knockout of a movie experience.

Summary: John Carpenter's Best
Review: If you haven't seen this movie, shame on you. It is easily the best movie ever directed by John Carpenter. This movie paved the way for campy action film, but it does it in an A-movie style. From Jack Burton's very memorable one-liners, to the high flying martial arts and Chinese black magic, this movie grasps you and doesn't let go till the end. Rent it, buy it, borrow it whatever, but if you love movies, this one won't let you down.

Summary: If It offered six stars id give this masterpeice 20!
Review: This movie is phenominal. I saw it when i was about 6 and ive been totally hooked on i ever since. i taped this movie and have seen it well over 100 times or so and everytime is as good as the first. one thing about this movie that i noticed was the fact that, no matter how many times i watched it, i never get tired of it. It has a cheesy, albeit enthralling story line, a brilliant cast, especially Kurt Russel who couldnt have played a better jack burton.this movie is complete fun from start to finish, i could find no flaws in the intentionally cheesy story, or magnifecently written script. the dialauge was top notch, savvy, and just plain funny. the special effects were also terrific, especailly for 1986. the only problem i have with this film is the fact that no sequel or tv-spin off has been produced. This movie is film-making fun and entertainment at its truly best.

Summary: Kurt Russell and John Carpenter at their finest!
Review: This movie was made for Kurt Russell. No one else could play his part in this off-beat film. The story is interesting, the photography is colorful and the direction is masterful. And the character of Jack Burton has never been matched. This is a totally unique movie and can't be compared to anything else. John Carpenter has made some great movies, and some not-so-great, but this one stands head and shoulders above them all; and is nothing like anything else he has ever done.

It is by turns suspenseful, action-filled, scary, and most of all, humorous. I enjoy this movie every single time I see it. It succeeds at everything it sets out to achieve. All actors brilliantly portray their parts. I can find no fault with this film---except that there hasn't been a sequel!

Summary: .
Review: Truly an underappreciated gem of raw, frivolous, kinetic, unpretentious imagination. A thoroughly silly but incredibly original, funny, and enjoyable movie with amusing performances, a witty script, cheesy but highly entertaining special effects, and a fantastic soundtrack. This movie has been a treasure to me since I first saw it as a kid. Far superior to other John Carpenter films. Personally, I feel it deserves a high ranking on AFI's top 100 list. : ) It's true! Art at its finest.
