Rating: Summary: CLASSIC ACTION! Review: THE BEST ACTION PACKED MOVIE OF THE LATE 80'S.ALOT OF STUNTS THAT INVOLVES HIGH JUMPS,FLIPS AND ECT.IF I WAS YOU BUY IT JUST TO HAVE IT.IT'S A CLASSIC THAT YOU WOULD NOT FIND IN THE STORES.YOU WOULD MOST LIKELY ENJOY IT.
Rating: Summary: Somewhat Above-Average Reagan-Era Action Review: The hero's lack of emotion is reminiscent of the lead character in 1984's black action flick "The Last Dragon" (American Ninja is a much better movie). Soap opera veteran Don Stewart ("The Guiding Light") is pretty good as the lead bad guy "Ortega." This movie usually rises above its modest roots and never lets the pace slow very much. If you like it, check out 1991's "The Perfect Weapon" with real-life martial artist Jeff Speakman.
Rating: Summary: Michael Dudikoff is a True American Review: The silent Joe Armstrong (Michael Dudikoff) minds his own business until soldiers start bugging him. Well, he puts a bucket on his head and uses a hose to flip around Jackson (Steve James). Pure ninja. He fights all kinds of ninjas in warehouses and a complex place. An ultimate ninja with a scar on his face tries to fight the "American Ninja," but he gets sliced. Michael Dudikoff is a real American hero. Nobody slays ninjas like he does. This movie is almost a masterpiece.
Rating: Summary: Believe it or not, I'm a deadly ninja Review: There is but one "Greatest American Hero," and, as Michael Dudikoff shows, it isn't a big-haired William Katt in a red alien-leotard. A film that will surely endure for the ages, along with the Cold War-inspired "Gymkata" and Jackie Chan's infamous second American effort "The Protector," "American Ninja" is one of the many '80s martial arts flicks that, if released today, would have found itself sitting on a Blockbuster shelf collecting dust with the other straight-to-video B-fare. Dudikoff plays Joe, a silent soldier with a shrouded past stationed in the Philippines. During an attack by mercenaries on an army convoy, Joe shows-off his martial arts skills, single-handedly taking out several men armed with automatic weapons. Too bad Joe leaves his other army buddies behind when a band of ninjas come. After the deadly ninja-slaughter, Joe is ostracized by the rest of his camp who all blame the deaths of some good soldiers on his flashy hot-shot karate. He wins back his comrades' respect like any average Joe would: beating one of them up with a garden hose and dowel rod while wearing a bucket on his head. After a series of army double-crosses, motorcycle jumps, exploding jeeps and attacks by foreign ninjas, Joe comes to learn about his true and martial arts-filled past. It turns out that Joe was raised by a Japanese soldier who trained him in the art of the ninja. Injured by man's drive to subjugate nature, Joe gets separated from his pseudo-adoptive ninja father when forested area by their home is blown up to make way for a highway. Joe, now realizing he's not just a real American hero but also an American ninja, fights ninjas and mercenaries to save his superior's daughter and even gets to run through a ninja obstacle course reminiscent of a "Double Dare" physical challenge. But at the end of the day, Joe's still Joe and the movie is still great grade-B cheese.
Rating: Summary: "Tons of Fun" Review: This movie had me laughing at Dudikoff's acting alone. Sure this movie is fun, but-?
Rating: Summary: Brilliant martial arts Review: This movie is definitely worth seeing....It has incredible action sequences that move at break neck speeds. When Joe Armstrong (michael dudikoff) and Jackson (Steve James) team up, not even the biologically engineneared ninja's can stop them. Armsrong is a master at the nija arts with the ability to slice and dice anyone or anything that gets in his way. There is only one word to describe this movie and that word is scrumtralacent. If you havn't seen this display of martial mastery then you havn't lived yet...do yourself a favor....and go se it.

Rating: Summary: US armys Joe Armstrong kills a smuggler & hundreds of ninjas Review: This movie is the chop sockiest ninja flick since Jackie Chans fests. It centers around Joe(The none too articulate Michael Dudikoff),a ninja with amnesia who joined the army after nearly killing someone. After getting into a fight with smugglers,he causes the death of 4 soldiers,(By ninjas)putting his reputation at stake.Joe rescues the colonels daughter and falls in love with her. After scrapping with Curtis Jackson(The too articulate Steve James),a corporal, they become friends. It turns out a smuggling operation is going on,and they want Joe dead for he knows too much. The black star ninja (Tadashi Yamashita) nearly assassinates him on several points. Eventually Joe learns the secrets of his past and.....watch the rest yourself! Its a great martial arts movie, and so was #2. Unfortunetly,3&4 are not worth mentioning. "He possess great skills!" END
