Summary: Ok but come on!
Review: alright it had cool special effects but the video game is known for its violence - if you play the games right before you watch the movie you'd swear it was Barneys great adventure!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: A popular video game is as real as it gets
Review: The film dose not have graphic violence in it like the video game does, because this is a kids movie.

Summary: Awesome Action & Special Effects
Review: If you've played the Game then you'd love this Big Screen Version also. Even if you haven't you'll still enjoy this. The movie has some really Great stuff of Action, Special Effects, Costumes and Set design. The plot is quite thin though, a bunch of Mortal men and women trying to save the world from the Aliens of the Outer World. The casting is also good. The movie features a lot of Martial Arts fights. If you're in for a fight after every 10 minutes then you got it. The fights are really well-choreographed. I would've loved to give this movie a 4 start rating had there been some plot also. To be honest, You won't ask for a thicker plot while watching this as the Kick-butt action sequences and Spectacular Special Effects would glue you to your seats. Buy it or rent it but Don't miss it...

Summary: Best movie ever?
Review: This movie had a sudden hit on me, and I don't understand exactly why. Maybe because of the brilliant plot, or the special effects or whatever? At the end of the day, you have to admit that Mortal Kombat is one of the best movies you've ever seen. The plot is nothing short of ( well you know, ritual stuff like in Buffy The Vampire Slayr etc) It is kind of a ritual or a religion or something. This sacred tournament has been going on for the past nine generations and guess what? The goon squad from Outworld have won them all! If Lord Rayden's team lose this time the whole world is lost! All in all, I'd say that this is deservedly one of the best movies ever made.

Summary: It was a pretty good movie with good special effects.
Review: I thought that it was a really good movie. A lot better than the second one. Some of the moves were slightly exaggerated, but follow the line of the game.

Summary: Movie's good, Video is excellent, audio SUCKED!
Review: I was into Mortal Kombat from a long time ago, I can't say I love it the same, but I still find the movie enjoyable. I had the VHS version prior to the DVD, and this DVD's video is amazing (just like the other DVDs). Everything was so clear and the blacks were, well, black.

However, the audio was terrible. From a normal setting, the center channel had a lot of "oomph" I mean that literally to, when someone gets kicked, the "oomph" has some oomph...and a LOT of it. Music is hardly audible because most music comes out of the left and right front channels. The left and right (front) were barely audible.

I gave it 2 stars because although the movie was good, the video was good, audio was one of the main driving forces in this movie. It gave you the suspense, as well as the feel of Mortal Kombat, for all its worth...but terrible audio gave a TERRIBLE viewing experience. On this one, I can safely say that the VHS is better...on a normal receiver setting... I drastically changed my dB settings on my receiver to give center channel a low volume while the front l/r's a very very high volume. THEN, the DVD was better. BUT at an initial setting, the VHS was better.

That however was the technical quality, the extras however did proove useful. It was a nice addition and being that it came from New Line, it had some nice extras.
