Summary: The video game is much fun that this movie!
Review: This movie su**s big time!!.The plot is stupid and monotonous. And,every 5 seconds, there's a fighting sequence!.For example, the characters are walking and BOOM!,they begin to fight, two characters are talking and BOOM!,another fight scene!,and it's like this every 5 seconds or so.The special effects are "average" compared to other great movies like Star Wars or Terminator. All of the money that was spend making this crappy movie should've been given to a good cause. Why all video game based movies s**k big time!?!.Don't spend any money on this DVD,never!!!

Summary: Dont wast youre time with this movie.
Review: After watching the first one I guesed that annihilation would be better I was wrong the movie was one the most dumbest movies that I have ever seen. The special effects were cheesy the fighting was like something out of power rangers. Stay away from this movie.

Summary: Rubbish
Review: I won't bother saying much here because most people have said it all already- although I am a fan of the games and first movie this one sucked and had no plot and did complete injustice to most of its characters. The gorgeous Talisa Soto does her best, but fails to provide a strong performance because of the weak dialogue she is given. The actor playing Shao Khan is so bad he's laughable. The only good thing is that Musetta Vander is great as Sindel and Nightwolf is good, but sadly we don't see enough of them. Avoid this lame excuse for a sequel.

Summary: Too much stuff in it.......
Review: I liked the first movie a lot so when the second one came out I went to see it,I jus have to say one word about it: CRAP.

I have to admit the effects and the fighting scenes were not bad, but I think there was too much characters (many of them appeared for seconds) and the story went too fast, it seems like the producers saw that MK was going down in popularity so they decided to put three movies in one.

Summary: This movie is like watching the video game!
Review: Okay, okay...you people are putting too much emphasis on plot and character development. Keep in mind that this movie was made purely for the ones among us who drop quarter after quarter into the machine this movie was spawned from. Those who play the game already know the characters names, their backgrounds, and their role in the "plot" of the video game - all they care to see are the characters brought to life on the big screen. That is what this movie does and on those merits it stands as highly entertaining. If you know nothing about the video game, why would you bother seeing this movie in the first place? And if you are a fan of the video game series, then you will enjoy this movie.

Summary: Sequel is Lacking...
Review: I loved the first Mortal Kombat. Excellent soundtrack and focus on three protagonists with outstanding plot weaving to integrate all the stories to feel like one. But the sequel went too far. It's like they experimented and said, "Let's see how much MK stimulus we can possibly pack into one story." The result: a plot which is understandable and coherent but underdeveloped and non-engaging. They incorporated way too many characters with shaky plot-lines. It's like a really bad martial art version of Major League (double the characters). Example: In one fight scene you have Liu (saving the planet) fighting Shao Khan (wants the planet), Montoro fighting Jax (technology-buffed dude), Sindel (mother) fighting Kitana (daughter), and Sonja fighting some Red dude. What you find out in these monster fights is that monsters look terrible when they are fighting, there is no flow in the action. The computer animation is kinda wack. The few pluses: Talisa Soto and Robin Shou. Talisa is a babe, straightaway. And you got to give it up for Robin Shou, his movie-martial-art style is great. He makes rigid non-flexible actors look like karate beasts! (reminiscent of the Philip Rhee choreography in the Best of the Best Series) This movie is best for people who love the video game and want to see all their favorite characters on the big screen.

Summary: The movie was pretty good, but needed more features
Review: When I finished watching the 1st mortal kombat I was so pleased by the movie, and begged for a sequel. So i saw the sequel when it came out and was pleased, yet displeased. The Fighting is excellent, yet the 1st had better/longer fight scenes, but just not enough of them; where as its the exact opposite in the sequel. Here is a list of the negatives: -Johny Cage died a quick death, c'mon, he's funny! -Some characters actors were changed -Rayden's plot, and the change in him(brother?) -Kitana didn't wear the simialar outfit style of jade and Mileena, and cindel should have just been shao kahn's queen, not kitana's mother! -The short fights provided no background on the characters like mileena, jade, rain, ermac, motaro -Shao kahn was supposed to be more intriguing. He shouldn't have had a father, and was often just seen in a black suit. The actor looked liked he was the one who learned from Shang Tsung! In the first mk, shao kahn's power is nicely shown. -Instead of bringing back old characters that died in mk, they should have introduced new heroes and villains -the plot on shao's unallowed arrival was horrible -give some backround on jax. I mean in mk we see him last when he tries to stop sonya from pursuing kano, and then in the second, he's rescued from a lab? knows how to fight? -The emperor killed off his own men

thats just about it, and I must state I gave it a 3 star because of the quaility martial arts, effects, and new appearances of many fighters. It was just a movie that could have been beautifully done, but spoiled by the outrageous plot, change in character, non-stop(time taking) fighting. It was all in all farely decent though and would be a good movie to buy as a COMPANION to the original 1 question~ what the hell is the plot of the 3rd movie supposed to be?

Summary: Viewing this movie may kill brain cells
Review: I saw the first movie 4 times in the theatre, and this one once on video. Once you get past the recasting of actors, the addition of too many new characters for the length of this film, poor dialogue, bad acting, and the lack of plot, you have a couple of really good fight scenes (and a few attractive women in leotards). But that doesn't rescue this movie from a fiery, downward spiral. The sad part was, I didn't think any movie based on a martial arts video game could be worse than Street Fighter, but this one was (but not by a whole lot). Please do not waste your time with this movie - Utterly Horrible!!!

Summary: Man, this movie sucks!
Review: This movie was a letdown in every possible way. Bad acting (not to mention many of the original actors are not in it), cheesy fight sequences, cheap effects, and most of all, terrible plot. Even if you are obsessed with the games, the storyline of this movie can become almost unintelligible at times. Not to mention the fact that many of the characters (such as Shiva or Motaro) looked awful. Remember Goro from the original? There is an example of a well done monster; huge, mean, and intimidating. The monsters in this movie just look ridiculous. And finally, what's the deal with killing Johnny Cage in the first five minutes of the movie? Common! It's just not Mortal Kombat without Johnny Cage! However, I would highly recommend the first one. The original was well choreographed, entertaining, and had a suprisingly good plot. Just don't waste your time on this sequel.

Summary: This is the worst sequel I have ever seen
Review: I enjoyed the first movie but this one was terrible. The effects were less than satisfactory and the story line was weak. It seemed like they were trying to make this movie for a very young audience and the fight sceens seemed more like power rangers action than martial arts. I do not recomend this movie.
