Rating: Summary: One of his best movies..... Review: This movie is one of his best action roles. ok i liked his other movies with him in the past but this i really enjoyed. This movie had great stunts, great action, good acting and also great directing. please if you want a great action movie borrow this.
Rating: Summary: Has Steven lost his touch Review: This film started off with great promise but then suffered a stream of badly filmed 'one-man-hero-saves-all' cliches. Can you really take seriously the thankless police commander who demoted our man when he saved the day on the bridge at the start of the movie, or the woman boss who would not have looked out of place in a shampoo advertisement or modelling clothes?? The fight action scenes were reasonable. As a biker, I loved the Ducati but why the wheelie? It slows you down when you have three vehicles of bad guys and auto weapons chasing after you while you only have a never ending supply of bullets in your one and only handgun. I know we should not take this seriously and I am very fond of films where you can just watch and not believe all that you see, but this was a poor attempt at revitalising Stevens career and would fit better in the 'film spoof' category. Come on Joel... give us another Matrix.
Rating: Summary: Not a disapointing moment Review: Steven Seagal always does good movies. But this is his best. I loved it...I didn't move. It had a story..just enough humor..and the right kind of action. And even a lil bit of suspence to it. I wasn't sure what was going on with DMX there for a little while. Is he a good or bad guy? "On the commercials he was a good guy...what's goin on with this?" Give this movie a whirl.....you can't go wrong if you like action.
Rating: Summary: very good Review: i thought this book was too good. even though i was a liitle shock to see dmx play in this movie as one of the main characters he really did a good job. there are some twists in the movie and its action packed. steven segal never seems to amaze mean with his talents, but dmx relally surprised me and he deserves praise on this movie
Rating: Summary: Not like the good old Seagal's movies... Review: This film really disappointed me. I watched it expecting something like the excelent Glimmer Man or Under Siege series, Under Deadly Ground, Above the Law or Out For Justice. But unfortunatly what meant to be a good story, ended meeting Joe Silver, producer of The Matrix, which is an excellent movie. But I trully don't understand why Joe Silver keep insisting in his formula of impossible jumps. This might be the right thing to do when Keanu Reeves or someone else is running the show, but surely it isn't a good thing when Seagal is on the stage. Seagal does not need any "turbo" effects to make his fighting nice and thrilling. This film totally screwed up Seagal's talent and his reallistic fighting. The only nice thing in this movie is the end when the fat guy is in a talk show. I really hope that Steven Seagal also noticed this and his next movie will be free of "Matrix kind" special effects.
Rating: Summary: So Bad It's Sad Review: WOW!! This movie is bad! Not Michael Jackson Bad, but really awful. I cannot believe that some of the same poeple who helped create the Matrix were involved in this pathetic excuse for a movie. Where did they get the machine gun noises from? - recordings of cap guns? The opening action sequence on the bridge is done so poorly that I literally cringed in my seat and started laughing in amazement. How could a director watch that and say "Print!"?? Tom Arnold and a few topless dancer shots help make about 5 minutes worth of the movie watchable. Can you name ONE character that Steven Segal has ever played?? Neither can I. That's because he is one of the worst actors ever put on film. His calm, Zen, toughyetsensitive guy schtik has been soooo played out over countless mediocre films. Segal is as out of shape as ever in this one and it is tough to tell whether the fight scenes were shot in slow motion or if the actors are just tired. I won't even start in on DMX...Didn't people learn their lesson from Belly?
Rating: Summary: An entetaining action film. Review: Orin Boyds (Steven Seagal at his best since Under Siege) is a tough urban detective who pushed the law too far in order to serve it and has been sent to work in the city`s worst precinct. It`s aonly a matter of time before he stumbles on the seeds of an inside drug opeartion and the one person who can help him uncover the truth is not a cop at all but crime boss Latrell Walker (DMX).DVD`s has an impressive anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) transfer & Strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak is a lot better than his first film-Romeo Must Die. It`s a clever well done film. Panavision. Grade:B+.
Rating: Summary: steven... steven... steven... Review: well, I have learned not to expect much from segal movies and I was not expecting much when I watched this one. I was expecting a average movie with nothing spectacular and that's exactly what I got. The same steven senario happens over and over in his movies: bad guys concieve evil plot to get rich, steven gets wind of it, bad guys mess up BAD by trying to kill steven and therefore [upseting] him off, Steven takes it to himself to stop the bad guys single handedly, Steven kills all bad guys by simple moves sort of like yanking there arms and thereby causing their necks to snap off while not getting scratched himself, Good guys AND bad guys tend to then sprout lines after they have felt the full wrath of steven like: WOW this guys good!, this guys the best! or, going after him is suicide! (you get the idea) Then after all the bad guys become terrified of him and the supporting characters clearly state that they are glad they are not Stevens enemy Steven goes in for the final showdown, usually alone, And then teaches the last boss a hard-earned lesson. That basicly sums up this movie. I was sorely dissipointed when he would not even take his shirt off ... when he is by getting zapped by an electric gun while his rival did take his off. Also they should have had a less obvious stunt double when riding a motorcycle. How did I know it was not steven? simple, because the double had distinct grey hair while steven has jet-black dyed hair ... . all in all, this movie is not bad, it just could have been a lot better.
Rating: Summary: 2nd review,am i being deleted? Review: this movie should have been deleted.i dont mean to mash up others opinions of this junk but when people say this was the best movie of the year i must ask if those people were accompanied by an adult.they have to be kids.i equate this to van damned knock off.only without the pre-requisite rapper as a sidekick/villian(i think).anyway, how bloated can steve get?how typical can the action sequences get?how lame and completely unbelieveable can the plots get?do rappers/singers/models spell doom for every movie they are in?(excluding ice-cube)and people are ready to give dmx an oscar.PEOPLE,PLEASE!might as well give ice-t a lifetime of direct to video lifetime achievement award.i wonder why the speilburgs, scorsece's,woo's,or any RESPECTABLE director/movie maker would NEVER sign off on slop like this.and i doubt if youll find a rapper/singer/model in any of their films either.lets review, shall we?want a flick to appear quickly at the video rental store employ the ''lets make a movie with a has been,a trillion bullets flying, bones breaking,a really loud sound track, and the artis whos on the sound track, and no one will notice how god awefull this is.a plot and people who can act will only get in the way'' school of thought.i can only guess at what people who liked this consider a BAD movie!
