Summary: EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS
Review: A DETROIT COP [STEVEN SEAGAL] TAKES ON CORRUPT COPS. THIS WAS ACTUALLY OK. THE THING THAT HURTS THE MOVIE IS THE FIRST 30 MINUTES, WHICH ARE KINDA MEDIOCRE. BUT ONCE IT GETS PAST THAT, IT'S PRETTY ENTERTAINING. DMX ACTUALLY DID A GOOD ACTING JOB IN THIS. I WILL ADMIT THAT SEAGAL IS KINDA FAT AND I'LL ADMIT THAT HE DOESN'T LOOK AS COOL AS HE USED TO, BUT, IN THIS MOVIE, HE DID SOME PRETTY GOOD ACTION SEQUENCES. THIS MOVIE ALSO PROVES THAT MICHAEL JAI WHITE [WHO PLAYED SPAWN] DESERVES MORE ATTENTION THAN WHAT HE'S CURRENTLY GETTING. I'D SAY THAT THIS MOVIE IS WORTH A WATCH.

Summary: No Exit for Seagal
Review: Critics love to hate Steven Seagal, and he is the one actor that people would seldom admit watching. Yet to be fair, although his chances of delivering his award acceptance speech at the Oscars are pretty slim, he is not a bad actor.Like J-C Van Damme, and Dolph Lundgren, he has made his fortune making films based on his martial arts expertise and his physique rather than his ability to play the lead in Hamlet.Stallone's (whose speech in the closing scenes of First Blood was a mix of unknown languages that has yet to be deciphered),and Arnold Schwarzenegger's careers started off this way, but they were lucky enough and with probably the right contacts to branch out into other genres. Seagal and co. remained faithfully in the action genre, making films that alternate between the good, the bad and the simply awful.
Exit Wound is an ok film, and if you watch it like it really is, and I dont think it pretends to be anything else, just an action entertaining movie, then you will probably enjoy it more.
Though the plot is lame and predictable, as you expect from these movies, the actions sequences are well made.
But why my four stars?
Well simply because of the very last scene in the movie, it is unexpected, a touch surreal and totally hilarious. Anthony Anderson and Tom Arnold do a fantastic job as two TV show hosts talking to each other! Arnold I believe is an underrated actor, and he has a lot of comic potential (his brief cameo in Austin Powers was very funny and a scene stealer), while Anderson whose character in the film reminded me a bit of Joe Pesci's in Lethal Weapon, was a great match to Arnold.
It is worth it to buy the film just for this scene alone!
So Exit Wound is not a bad film, nor it is a great one.It is just a Steven Seagal film, one that at least you know what to expect from, and that is fair enough.

Summary: Awesome flick
Review: So action packed and really shows how good of an actor DMX can be. I never really like Seagal movies, mostly because all he does is beat people up. I understand that's the point and that it's exciting. It is fun to watch. However, it gets to the point where it's basically always the same thing anyway. I feel the same about Jackie Chan movies now. However, adding DMX into it and having like so many different turns on the actors made this a great movie.

Summary: Old Action Heroes never die, they just fade away.
Review: Instructions: rent Steven Seagall's latest action movie knuckle-fest "Exit Wounds". Insert in DVD player; watch first 15 minutes of movie, remove from DVD player. Return to video store.

If you follow those instructions to the letter, you'll have fun with "Exit Wounds", which features one of the best opening sequences of any action movie in recent memory. There's also a great scene where the hipster uber-villain (played convincingly by rapper DMX) and a henchman go on a shopping spree in an exotic car lot (ultimately settling on a Lamborghini Murcielago, paid for in cash) which is so cool it just makes you grind your teeth as you begin, over the course of two hours, to realize that the rest of the movie just can't hold a candle to its opening minutes.

An action movie should be exciting; after Seagall foils a neatly organized assassination attempt on the U.S. Vice President (a brilliant little sequence which merits one star on its own, and from which 95% of the trailer material was taken), "Exit Wounds" is not exciting. It's stale. It's rehashed. Honestly, were it not for DMX, the few riffs from the movie's excellent rap soundtrack, and the equipment, I would have thought I was watching an eighties Seagall flick. And that's surprising, given that the movie is helmed by "Romeo Must Die" director Andrzej Bartkowiak, who also did the cinematography for Speed, Lethal Weapon 4, and Devil's Advocate.

The plot, what there is of it, deals with police corruption, and features a major twist near the end that takes the punch out of the story and doesn't make any sense---but by that time you've stopped caring.

Worst of all, Seagall is just too old to be a credible action hero; he's reached that wheezing, shortness of breath stage that afflicted Roger Moore back in "View to a Kill"---except Seagall doesn't have the acting chops that Moore was able to fall back on. Tom Arnold is thrown in for laughs, but the laughs are so feeble, and the jokes so stale, that you're laughing *at* Arnold and Seagall---not with them.

Midway through "Exit Wounds" I was fighting to stay awake, and that's a shame, given that the first 15 minutes of the movie contained more sheer, hectic energy than any movie I've seen since "Face/Off". Rent the DVD for that opener if you dare, but if you stay any longer you'll see it's true: Old Action Heroes never die, they just fade away.

Summary: How 'bout that for Steven's comeback?
Review: The plot is just a weird, pseudo-intellegent cops-goin'-after-drug-dealers-and-bad-cops-and-kickin'-alotta-[butt]-as-they-go, but Steven Seagal is why you watch it. I particularly loved the scene where the gang is trying to break into his car, and he beats them all senseless. Don't see this film for the riveting "story", descent actin acting, or the ridiculously [messed] up soundtrack, headed by the king of bad music, DMX (who may want to consider giving up his day job, since his acting skills are actually exceptional), go to it for the action. After all, isn't that what it's about?

Summary: Yet another failed seagal movie
Review: this is without doubt seagals worst. He looks stupid in every scene, and he flips and kicks like in some kung fu movie. Thats just not his style, (not that hes got style anymore)hes style was raw aikido bonebreaking and his typical "acting". that was the now is now, and I recommend seagals first movies to the one who thinks of bying or even renting this one.

You have a choice remember that!!

Summary: Embarrassing, violent american junk
Review: I saw this movie because of a friend. Unfortunately, it was just very boring and glaringly stupid. "Since when did cops make things better?". If you like chest-thumping action men in violent sellout films, enjoy. Otherwise give it a miss.
