Rating: Summary: is this a comeback for seagal? OH YEAH!!! Review: ah, it's great to see steven seagal back on the big screen [...]on the streets of detroit (played by ontario). i was surprised i enjoyed EXIT WOUNDS after a string of ...[bad] environmental actioners like FIRE DOWN BELOW, ON DEADLY GROUND & THE PATRIOT. he looks pretty good here but the chinfat stays as is. he looks cool in a regis philbin suit in the film's opening. the action is ok despite the fact his stunt double is seen VERY CLEARLY in some sequences and no, that is NOT seagal jumping over a car w/ bad cops as it crashes to a dead end. the guy's 48 yrs old or as a friend told me "he's 96!" even though i hate DMX's rap music, he is a good actor here though i have to question a scene where he is hiding behind some bags of cocaine from more bad cops. he takes off his belt, ties it to the trigger of his shotgun, throws the gun into the air in the direction of the cops, pulls the trigger w/ the belt and fires HITTING THE COPS WITHOUT MISSING THEM!!! AND DMX ISN'T LOOKING! WHEW! i ponder and ponder about that. i don't think in real life that that is possible. only the movies!
Rating: Summary: THE best- One of my new favorite movies!!! Review: There is so much you can say about "Exit Wounds." I went in expecting very little, and very little is what I did NOT get. What I got was, awesome action, great karate, suspense, and lots of laughs. Steven Seagal plays a great job as cop Oren Boyd, and DMX makes a great first role too. The movie is about the Detroit Police Department trying to find the heroin dealers that have been causing crime and chaos. After Oren gets involved without being on the case, he is "demoted" to a much lower rank. But that doesn't stop him; not one bit! He teams up with another cop and they are awesome. The movie is very well plotted and the action sequences are oh so good. So what are you waiting for!? Get to your nearest movie theater and check out "Exit Wounds." This will be enjoyed by all, but be aware that there's lots of violence, so don't bring little kids to see it. This is one of my ne favorite movies. This is a definite must see. Get in your car, now! Happy Viewing!
Rating: Summary: Exit Wounds Review: This is not the typical Steven Seagal film. His fighting style is different. Recall the fights when Seagal simply broke an arm and the fight was over? In "Exit Wounds," the fights last longer. The action sequences are similar to what you'd expect in a John Woo film. DMX does a decent job of acting though none of his scenes were taxing on his acting abilities. There's plenty of action. It's funny and it's a fun film.
Rating: Summary: Not a thinking man's movie, but that's ok Review: Ok guys, for all those who thinks "Exit Wounds" is a bad movie, here's the deal; it stars Steven Seagal, you know what you're getting your self into. Why is everyone so down on this movie? Is it the "Godfather"? No. It is what it is; it aims low, but it hit's it's target. Seagal plays Detriot police officer Boyd who is transfered into a new department rife with police corruption. And so a couple of broken wrists later, Seagal is in the middle of cops he can't trust and gangsters with deeper motives. This is Seagal's best movie in a long (LONG) time. He has lost a few pounds (though he still looks pretty hefty) and quit wearing the East Asian wardrobe, which was a step in the right diection. Another right move was casting DMX. I am not a fan of his rap music, but he certainly has charisma here. I was duely impressed. Jill Hennessy is around as Boyd's commanding officer. Hennessy is a good actress (look at "Law and Order" or "Crossing Jordon"), but unfortunately she isn't givin a lot to do here; just look pretty so Seagal can gawk at her. One other note worthy cast member is Tom Arnold. Thankfully he is not on screen that much, so he dosn't have time to wear his welcome out. His talk show material during the ending credits is funny, maybe; depending on your sense of humor he may be hit and miss. The action scenes are fast, exciting, and brutial; lots of gun shot wounds (hense the title) and bone crunching martial arts moves. A word on the fighting choreography; it seems a little fake to me; too much slow motion for my taste. Like I said, it isn't high art, but it is fast paced action thriller with lots of cool fights and lots of testostorone.
Rating: Summary: The Best Straight Faced, Shoot-em-up in a Long Time. Review: Steven Seagal is Well and Truly Back in "Exit Wounds", his Best film in a long, Long time. Out of All the Big Screen Tough Guys that have Faded from the Scene recently, who would have guessed that Seagal's return would make the Biggest Splash at the Box Office. Stallone's "Get Carter" and Schwarzenegger's "The Sixth Day" both Flopped in comparison to "Exit Wounds", and having seen and Enjoyed all three, I can Honestly say that the Best Man Won. Seagal plays Orin Boyd, a Clean Cop in a Dirty Town who gets Demoted and sent to an even Dirtier Town, a Police Precinct Famous for it's Corruption. Seagal's World-Famous Friend making skills Immediately come into play, every corner he turns, he has people trying to Punch him, Kick him, Shoot Him, Rocket-Launcher him and Run him Over. His Friends are Few and People to Trust are Even Fewer, he Enlists the help of Clean Cop George Clark (Isaiah Washington), Freelance Good Guy Latrell Walker (DMX), Strip-Joint Owner T.K. (Anthony Anderson) and a Bizarre Talk-show host Henry Wayne (Tom Arnold). They are Easily outnumbered by the line-up of Not-so-Trustworthy Foes, including Officer Strutt (Michael Jai White), Officer Montini (David Vadim) and a Countless Number of Cardboard Villains for Seagal to Domino Down in his Trademark Fashion. Andrzej Bartkowiak's Direction is as Solid as Seagal's is Strong. He strikes the Perfect mix of Serious and Send up, He Directs it all Seriously, the Performers play it Seriously, but you Occasionally catch a Sly Grin on the lips of a Character and you get the feeling your being let in on a Big Joke. Serious or Not, the film is a Blast. Seagal is at his Best once again, and it is Great to see. DMX is Excellent, he can Definitely have a Bright Future in films, Action or Not. Isaiah Washington lends a lot of Credibility to the film, as he is Easily the Best Actor in the cast. Michael Jai White acts with his Biceps and his Calming Voice, both turn in Good Performances. Anthony Anderson and Tom Arnold are the Comic Relief and they deserve (and received at my screening) a Standing Ovation. Getting their Characters Together at the End Credits and letting them go Wild was a Stroke of Genius, they are Hilarious Men on their Own, Together they are Comedic Legends. Joel Silver stocks the film with his Many Trademarks, Innumerable Car Crashes, Endless Cannon-Fodder Bad Guys and Beautifully Constructed Action Sequences. Like he did in "Romeo Must Die", Bartkowiak proves he is a Director, not Just a Cinematographer. He handles Action and Comedy Brilliantly, and he Connects the two genres Seamlessly. "Exit Wounds" is the Triumphant Return of Seagal, the Triumphant Return of the Straight-Faced Shoot-em-up and its Undeniable Proof that the Action Genre will Never Die.

Rating: Summary: Simply The Best Review: Exit Wounds is simply one of the best Seagal movies of all time. Far better than Half Past Dead. DMX shocked me with his acting in this movie. There is a great plot that will leave you shocked at the outcome. DMX is also played as a "good guy" in this movie. There are also some parts that are fricken hilarious such as the seen when the fat guy steals Steven Seagals grill. This movie is a must see.
Rating: Summary: Why oh Why Review: Why did I think this movie would be decent? Why did I think Seagal could actually pull off a good performance? This movie went into complete yawn-ville from start to finish. Only thing holding this movie was the co-stars, who really didnt do a good job at all. Steven Seagal has made many movies, this one has to be the worst.
Rating: Summary: Making a good movie is rare for Steven Segal Review: Check it out, Exit Wounds is about a cop (Segal) with an anger problem. It's up to him to find out who is running a drug operation. For a long while he suspects DMX, but it turns out that DMX is actually trying to pin these guys for putting his own brother away. Exit Wounds, is action filled. Great Moments that make you feel excited. Like a five minute car chase, a final battle between druglords and cops. I was like, oh sweet. DMX does a great job fullfilling the bad ass, while Steven Segal is actually in my opinion not that good of an actor. Watch this movie when your in a violent mood. It's great! and it is also hilarious!
