Summary: "Are you Ready"!!! For Street Fighter
Review: Street Fighter 2:The animated movie is much better than the the one universal made with Van-dam as Guile. First of all the begining is where Sagat and Ryu faced each other. At that part where Ryu scared Sagat's torso was freaky but cool. Mostly all the main story is how M.Bison is looking the data of Ryu's Fighting ability and searches for him. The meantime Ken was invole in this search when the montior droid found same the equal ability Ken fights. But Bison has others tracking him Guile and Chun Li to destroy Shadowlaw and avenge their deaths of people that were important to them. The animation was good with great music. The effect of the Hadoken was shockfully excellent just to add the effects it was a great movie that should want you to pick this powerful game to movie.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great animation, fair plot.
Review: Strong points: Great animation, the music (not the songs)is very good, the opening scene is superb. Shortcomings: some characters didn't have their share of the action. Eg, Guile was completely escluded of all fighting scenes.

Summary: A great movie but a bad dvd...
Review: I like this. This is the first animated fighting movie I saw. And it is still the best. Fluid animation and beatiful backgrounds makes this one defintly a looker. The story is so-so but that not why you watch this. It's the fight and boy are they cool. Very realistic.

But there are some bad things. And that is the DVD. It's old and censored (Chun-Li's breasts isn't showed in the shower scene). It does not contain anything except the movie and a bad menu. I found nothing wrong with the video though.

Summary: Please !! Do it again!!!
Review: I agree 110% w/ the guy that said the "Cry" song from the original soundtrack is a great song. It makes the whole movie. Enough said. I prefer the Japanese version language and all to the corny U.S.version. Please God hear our cries and redo this movie with the original soundtrack. Amen.

Summary: Street Fighting Champion
Review: Street Fighter: The Animation Movie is one of the best fighting animation movies of all time. The story revolves around many of the SF (Street Fighters) characters, mostly on Ryu, Guile, Chun Li, and Ken. The plot is very simple. M. Bison is recruiting fighters by sending out cyborgs to get information on fighters so that he can turn that person into an ultimate fighting machine to destroy anything. M. Bison has set his eyes on Ryu after receiving information on his ranking skills during a battle with Sagat. But the problem is that Ryu can not be found so he then turns his sights on the 2nd best fighter on Earth, Ken. Now Ryu has to find his long time friend before M. Bison captures him. The Movie is good on many levels. The animation is smooth and very detailed. And of course, the fights are incredible and very violent (Bloody). The best fight is Chun Li vs. Vega, a very intense fight with music from KMFDM's "Ultra" playing in the background. There's also a brief guest appearance from Akuma, so watch out for him. Also the origin of Ryu's red head band is revealed. Though this movie was in 93-94, it's still a great watch. I'm a street fighter fan since it came out and I really recommend that you buy or at least rent this movie. :D

Summary: DO NOT buy this! Get a dubbed version if you can!
Review: I saw the dubbed version on VHS many years ago and loved it. When I found out it was being released on DVD I immediately bought it. What a mistake!

Ok, here's what is BAD. 1) There is no menu, AT ALL. The movie plays, then ends. No commentary, no extras, NOTHING! 2) It's dubbed ONLY. The voices aren't that bad, but still I prefered the dubbed version WAY more. 3) The music was changed. In some scenes I can see, but most of the darn movie was remixed!!! WHY?! I thought the Japanase soundtrack was much better. During the first Sagat/Ryu fight scence, Chun-Li/Vega (ahem, Balrog), etc.

I guess it's better than nothing, but I definitely am disappointed and honestly can't recommend it unless you really gotta have it.

Summary: I'd give it 4 stars if it weren't so Americanized.
Review: This has been called the best fighting game anime.. But, this was one of the first anime to suffer from Americanization, and that doesn't sit well with purists such as myself. While the dubbing may be cheesy here and there, I actually liked the voices for the characters. The animation is superb.

My only two complaints are that Chun-Li's shower scene was cut from both the PG-13 AND the Mature version. Why both? My second complaint is that the music has been changed to suit the "mainstream" audience. I haven't heard the Japanese music, but it's probably better. What we got is actually not too bad, though. The story itself is incredibly basic, and it needs to drag sometimes just to make it seem less so. Overall, if you like Street Fighter, check it out, or if possible, grab the fansub.

Summary: "Have you ever felt the fighting spirit of another?"
Review: For a veteran of fighting video games like myself, to see a game come alive in the form of anime brings a certain level of giddiness that's almost indescribable. It brings such a rush to see the actual fighters from the game in animated form, beating the living snot out of each other in different locales of the world. But that's not all it takes. You need a good story, fluid, high-quality animation, and character designs that are at least close to the ones in the game. What a relief it was to find that "Street Fighter II" had all of this and more! Anime based on fighting games is pretty hard to pull off well, but this is one of the few exceptions. Not only is this one of the two best fighting-game anime ever (the other being the Fatal Fury movie), it's one of the best animated action flicks of all time. The plot/story is right out of the game itself, but with an added depth to it that keeps you interested through the whole film rather than just waiting for the next fight. The fighters interact with each other on a personal as well as physical level; you see just how deep Ryu and Ken's relationship runs, as well as the inner workings of the evil M. Bison's Shadowlaw organization. The animation is so fluid it could almost pass off as live-action at first glance. The fight scenes themselves...wow. I've never seen fights so spectacularly done in anime. Word is the crew actually choreographed the scenes with actual martial artists before drawing them out. Seeing is believing! The character designs are right on target, and most every fighter from the game is in here. Street Fighter fans have reason to celebrate about this one. About the only problem I saw with it was in the soundtrack. It was completely redone for the American release, with lots of alternative songs by popular artists of the time. The songs fit okay, but I at least would've preferred the original soundtrack. All told, though, this is the total package. For once, somebody got it all right. Even if you don't like fighting games but still want to see great action and a good story (and incredible fights!), get a hold of it. This is one of the new anime classics.

Summary: The best animated movie ever made!!
Review: Simply the best animated movie ever to be made, not the original version but it is excelent anyways. The action scenes are wondeful and the animation is great.Lets be honest, this anime is better than many new "animated movies".This movie with its original music and the original dialogal would a blast!Buy it but remember there are two different version of this movie.Buy the mature version, after all it is the more similar to the original version(Japanese version) but if you find the japanese version just don't stand there,it would be your lucky day!

Summary: Best fight sequences and character history storylines!!
Review: Are you tired off all those cheap attempts by untalented people to bring Street Fighter to life? Then get this, this is the COOLEST anime I have EVER seen! If you put all the characters into a tournament it would be really dumb and you would never really learn about them...that is why this anime is so cool..it doesnt do that...you have a story behind the movie...

Each character has his/her own life and ambitions...the movie is very emotional!! You get to explore the history of Ryu's and Ken's friendship...the movie has EVERYTHING, -

EXCELLENTLY CHOREOGRAPHED FIGHTING - real kung-fu and karate movies and styles were studied by the creators to bring this to life...the fight are very smart and emotional..and totally exciting, which make you wanna scream " yyyyyyeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" at some points!!!

EMOTION - the movie deals with such things as friendship and love...it emphasizes on something which is very rare in cinema at all, - affections and emotions of 2 friends! you CANNOT stay untouched after very strong emotional scenes in the movie...some would make few people weep..

MUSIC - From fast-paced rock songs to beautiful and calm Japanese music...the movie integrates it all very smoothly..

I am not really that GREAT of a Street Fighter game fan, but this is the best ANIME i have EVER seen in my LIFE! ANd I have seen alot of anime...

I recommend this with all my heart!! =)
