Summary: STREET FIGHTER MOVIE a good buy!
Review: I really loved this movie. It's was great in my opinions. All of the fight scenes were awesome, especially the one between Chun Li (my fav character) and Vega when he ambushes her in her apartment. Let's just say girlfriend gives him a real reason to wear the mask... The movie stays true to the original storyline of the game. YES! I hated the Van Damm live action version. Don't even get me started on that ...... I personally thought the music was okay. It seemed to fit in particular areas (in the part when Dee Jay beats the [you know what out] of these guys in a bar hip hop music is playing the background and when Chun Li fights Vega there is this rock music that seems to fit with the instensity of the fight), although I have yet to see the subtitled version with all of the original music in tact. While the plot line predictable and some the dialogue dorky (Bison: "Your no match against my psychopower!" YUCK!), all in all very much enjoyable.

Summary: Would like it to be uncut
Review: The film is quiet good, the only thing that was annoying was that it is not uncut like the jap version which includes the chug lee shower scene

Summary: Good soundtrack, bad extras...
Review: I first saw this movie on the Sci-Fi Channel (somehow Street Fighter counts as sci-fi) and the first thing I noticed about it was the artwork quality. It's fantastic. But what about the rest of it? A painfully simple storyline? A rather 'impolite' Ryu? And if you happen to resort to buying the ...DVD in the UK... Cheap and trashy subtitles? No original Japanese voice-overs? (An anime DVD is not an anime DVD without the original Japanese voice-overs!) Well, the main menu was pretty impressive, but they could have supplied the soundtrack separately. (I can't even buy THAT in the UK!)

But, enough whining, the DVD is okay. I'm being generous with the rating and only because the artwork is impressive.

Summary: Good but bad
Review: This is just about the best Street Fighter movie made. But it sure isn't as good as it should be. First of all the American voice acting is terrible. Listen to Ken Master's dribble as Bison is taunting him. The best part is when Guile gets to fight Bison. But he loses. He doesn't get his revenge. And Chun Li never even sees Bison. She never gets her revenge. She's stuck in the hospital after a fight with Vega. The fight is REALLY cool though. At the end of the movie you see Ryu and Ken standing by the side of the road. This is the WORST part of the movie. They're supposed to be best friends but they have absolutely nothing to say to each other. Ken's ride comes and he hops in the car. He asks Ryu if he would like a ride but Ryu would rather walk. Ken says "See ya" and the car speeds away leaving Ryu in the dust. Best friends? I have better conversations with my enemies. Then Ryu goes walking down the road. All the sudden Bison pops up driving a truck. Ryu jumps to fight the truck that is speeding at him. That's when the movie ends. If it went on a few seconds longer you'd see Ryu's remains after the truck slammed into him. The only word that can describe that ending is STUPID!

Summary: Chun-li fighting Vega in her underwear. Need I say more?
Review: I don't know how they did it, but they actually managed to write a fascinating plot based on a video game that has no plot whatsoever. I have to admit that sometimes I don't "get" some of the most popular anime movies -- likely because I don't come from a Japanese background -- but this one is perfect for an American or Canadian who wants to discover anime for the first time. The artwork is top-notch, and the battles are well scripted -- they even use their trademark moves from the game.

Summary: Martial Art Anime Hit!
Review: I do agree the original version is better than the americanized one but the movie is still good. The story was kinda "predictable" but at least it stayed true to the storyline in the video game. The action scenes are just the best there is.I was so exited to see my faves character doing at least one of their moves. All of them appeared and that's something we should be graceful for.The music(The original score)is the perfect one for the mood of the story,it has some great songs.I don't think they made a good job by replacing it by "Heavy Metal",it's just not what this anime is about. The animation is great, one of the best there is.I'd seen many anime movies from 1995 or older and I got to say few of them has such a great animation. Here's my rating for it:

Story:***

Animation:*****

Music:Japanese=*****
English=**1/2

Character Development:***1/2

Sound Effect:*****

Overall:**** or maybe ****1/2 depending of the version u watch

Summary: THIS MOVIE RULES!!!
Review: Firstly, I must say, I guess I'm one of those guys who "unfortunately needs to see Chun Li in her animated underwear." Secondly, I think one should not approach a movie about a bunch of gladiatorial cartoon characters looking for a complicated storyline. It's just cool. Just watch it---and appreciate it for what it is. Even if the roles were stretched kinda thin, the movie included most of the classic street fighters. Blanka, in particular, I liked. Sagat, Balrog and Vega were of course the hired thugs of M.Bison, each of them making notable appearances throughout.

I have many personal high points in the movie. The brawl between Ryu and Sagat is rock n' roll all the way. Sagat is like twelve feet tall, as wide as a bus. You get to see the dragon-punch that left Sagat with that big ugly scar, falling back on the background info behind the game.

The fight between Chun Li and Vega. Yes, she's in her underwear, and yes, it's cool. In that scene she uses virtually every one of her classic moves from the game. Vega slices her bathrobe to ribbons, and she ends up kicking him through a wall.

Some of the Ryu and Ken flashbacks were cool, which inevitably dovetailed into the rivalry between the two friends. I liked it when they harnessed their power to thrash Bison; Bison was a motormouth that never shut up.

Guile was my favorite guy, and he sounded kinda like Ben Gazzara when he talked. There was an immediate sexual tension between Guile and Chun Li, and I was cheering him on all the way. And later in the movie, maybe Guile was defeated by a five-hundred pound Bison, but it didn't matter, because he made off with Chun Li in the end. Now that's what it's all about, stars and stripes, baby.

I think if you like the game you'll like the movie. It's just fun to watch. Yes, the story can be more-or-less mindless, so if you feel guilty afterwards, just read a book. I mean, come on, it is a cartoon we're talking about. If you have fun watching it, then it's served its purpose. So, for all of the Street Fighter fans out there, go for it. Two BIG thumbs up from me!

Summary: Story? We Don't need no stikin story :P
Review: Well.. I bet you saw this movie at hmv or some other place and your wondering what the story is like. I'll tell you what the story is in one sentance; An exscuse too show some incredibly visceral and visually dazzeling fight scenes. It's your basic jet li movie gone anime, and with the street fighters put in In jet's place. The "story" itself isn't totally horrible, but it's so forgettable and basic. there are greeting cards out there with more depth. But while Anime Has given us some of the most Deep and complex story lines ever concieved, (Gundam, Wings of Hinneomise, Patlabor,) It also gives us a medium that manages too touch our emotions and stir our thought with it's every move. And it's on the latter half that Street fighter Get's an A+ as It's a beautiful movie too watch. The only other complaint I have is that They were really stretching at some points just too show every charachter. Dee Jay, Blanka, T-Hawk and Zanghief make brief and absoloutly pointless appearances just too please the fan boys. It's boring to see five minute sequances that could have forwarded the plot or added more depth, yet were wasted just too show some charachter favorite from the game in a pointless fight scene that doesn't affect the main plot one Iota.

In the end, Street fighter is strictly a popcorn movie, something too watch with your friends or by your lonesome when the mood strikes. But did you really expect anything more? Didn't think so.

Review: First of all I just what to say that Street Fighter is the bomb! Second of all I think if you don't buy this fantastic, wonderfully animated movie you are not even from this dimension. Which is why I believe if you don't buy it or at least watch it, your just crazy. This isn't just any old movie this is one of Manga's finest movies around.

Summary: the disc itself could have been better.
Review: when I recieved this in the mail today I was pretty damn happy to see one of my first animès on DVD. first off, the presentation itself is excellent! in my opinion it rivals such greats as Ninja Scroll and Iria. if you own this DVD or have seen the packageing--you'll notice that the back of the case says that it has been restored in its natural theatrical state. meaning... it is in letterbox, includes the "cigarette burns" in the corner and some specks on the film cells. don't listen to anyone that says it's standard. that's what I thought and I was pretty dissappointed... then I slowly realised... HEY! they don't know what they're talking about! it isn't standard after all... but that doesn't make this disc better than any other animè disc such as Ninja Scroll. simply because Ninja Scroll has more features such as 5.1 surround and (atleast) a scene selection! this DVD just plays as soon as you put it in, but...! HAH HAH! you can fast-forward through the warning screen. that's what I like to see in my DVDs. other than all of this... it's just your same old Street Fighter II animè in digital stereo and letterboxed on DVD. again, this is the MATURE (cool)version. but, there are still NO boobies in this one, kids!! it's the Sony version, not the Japanese version... so if you're looking for a traditional version... try Amazon.co.jp. personally, I think the dubbing is pretty good, still cheesy...but very good nonetheless. also, if you are like me and dig bands like KMFDM, Alice In Chains, Intermix and KoRn... you'll want to get this one. I'm a bit of a metalhead, so I don't care what the other version sounds like. anyways, if you like this movie and you'd rather not spend a similar amount of cash on the VHS copy--get this one. just 'cause it's in letterbox and it's digital. if you just don't want it, it's a free world... last time I checked. I'm probably wrong there.

that's about it. hope that helped!
