Summary: My least favorite Lethal Weapon movie.
Review: The first two films in the Lethal Weapon series were excellent! The third was pretty good. They should have stopped there! Lethal Weapon 4 is a tired retread. The beginning scene with Danny Glover in his underwear doing a chicken imitation? PLEASE spare me! Did we run out of good ideas here? Gibson and Russo had some real chemistry in #3. They looked like they were just going through the motions in this one.

Joe Pesci was hilarious in #2 (now there's a movie!)with his complaints about take out, the way he was "abused" by Riggs and Murtough; #3 only slightly less funny with his hospital experiences. In #4 his monologue is old and contrived. He seems unable to work up any real energy.

This movie is some old friends making a home movie -- more for their benefit than for ours. They never sell us, and I never forget that these are a bunch of actors. It doesn't move or touch you.

Summary: What more can I say!!!
Review: I just saw this film for the first time yesterday. I have been wanting to see it, but just haven't, but I was not disappointed with it, and enjoyed it. Now, there were some things I didn't care for. Now, why would they withold from Murtagh that his daughter is pregnant AND married to a cop? Why did Jet Li and his gang burn down Murtagh's house other than the fact of the Wongs? The whole crew was great. I love the part when Chris Rock jumps on the fellow who was an innocent bystander and tells him if he gets Johnny Cochran, he's going to kill him. And Joe Pesci, he is classic. And Danny Glover stripping down to his drawers to divert a shooter just for Mel Gibson's kicks was another great scene. All in all, a good movie.

Summary: Great Addition (Conclusion?) to the Series
Review: I admit it. When I first saw the commercials for this movie, seeing that Chris Rock and Jet Li were going to be in it, I was immediately annoyed and mad at the makers of this movie. I have never been a fan of Chris Rock, and I think that martial arts movies are boring, so I figured that they would ruin the film. As a result of that, I stayed away from this movie until well after it was released on video.
I finally saw it last summer when my best friend and I were sitting around his house wondering what movie to rent. Upon learning (gasp!) that he had never seen the Lethal Weapon series, we headed to the video store to rent one of the movies. Knowing that my friend often has different tastes in movies than I do, I decided to increase the odds that he would enjoy this series by renting the one with Chris Rock, since he is a fan of him. So, after picking up some food, we got back to his house and popped it in. Boy was I ever surprised! I discovered that, even though I never find Chris Rock funny, he works in this movie, and even has the funniest line! Jet Li also makes for a great adversary to Riggs. I would have to say that this movie is even better than LW3 (though that might be because I have seen that one too many times). It has, as all of these movies do, the greatest action scenes combined with hilarious comedy (at one point Riggs, Murtaugh, Rock, and the old chinese guy whose name I can't remember are inhaling laughing gas in a dentists office-you have to see that!).
After watching the movie, apart from going back and rewatching some favorite scenes, we spent the rest of the day going through the fantastic special features. First off, there are interviews with everyone involved with the movie. There is also bloopers from (I think) all four movies. There is a fantastic behind the scenes documentary. There are deleted scenes from all the movies (including an alternate beginning to the first one, where Riggs gets into a bar fight). We didn't listen to the commentary, but the rest of these features alone make this one of the best DVD releases ever, and an example for all future DVD releases of what a truly great DVD should be. (By the way, it is a double sided disk instead of two seperate ones, but hey, it's only a mild annoyance and it saves you another 10 bucks!)
So, if you were staying away from this movie because of the new cast members, do yourself a favor and buy this. You will not be disappointed. Riggs and Murtaugh, while they may be getting "too old for this sh#t", have not changed at all, and God knows that we don't want them too!

Summary: The last of the entertaining Action Series.
Review: This time Riggs (Two Time Oscar-Winner:Mel Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover) are batting an Asian Ganster (Jet Li), who is smuggling immigrants and Counterfeit Chinese Currency.

Directed by Richard Donner (Lethal Weapon Series) made an Entertaining Action-Packed Sequel that is Better than the last Sequel. DVD`s has an strong anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) transfer and also an strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD`s Extras are:An running commentary tracks by the filmmakers, Deleted Scenes, Alternate Endings and Outtakes from the First Three Lethal Weapon Series. Documentary also including and More. This is the last of the series, made by the same cast & filmmakers, who made all the Lethal Weapon Series. Chris Rock makes a nice welcome to the series with a nice sense of humor but it`s actor:Jet Li, who is the real High-Light of the film. Packed with good action scenes and some over the top comedy. A winner. Panavision. Grade:B+.

Summary: The final entry in a great series
Review: I couldn't imagine a better way to end the series than with Lethal Weapon 4. It's a very good movie, with a great plot and great actors. I love how every character in these movies has been played by the same people. The chemistry, not only between Gibson and Glover, but the whole cast is very evident in this movie. It's a little more light-hearted than it's sleazy predecessors, but it is still true to it's form and very entertaining. Jet Li is probably the best enemy yet. They put up quite a fight just to bring him down. Joe Pesci is at his best in this movie, and even softens up a bit (note the Froggy story). Chris Rock was a GREAT addition to the movie as well. He is nothing short of hilarious. His monologue in the car about his childhood was so funny, I don't know how the actors kept a straight face. The ending pretty much sums up the whole series and pretty much confirms that this is the last movie. If you have watched the other Lethal Weapon movies dozens of times like I have, you will love this one just as much.

Summary: AWESOME...AWESOME!
Review: This movie is flat out awesome. The "Lethal Weapon" series is flat out great as well. What sets this series apart from other action series is the great combination of comedy, drama, and action.

This series(and this installment)has it all. Great acting, a easy to follow story, exceptional character development...I could go on forever about how great this movie and series is.

If you like action, martial arts, Chinese food, and awesome acting...BUY THIS!

Summary: ALL 5 STARS GO TO JET LI
Review: Never mind the plot; it's fairly lame like all the other Lethal Weapon series. Let it be enough that Gibson and Glovers interactive chemistry is enough to make this movie enjoyable. Unfortunately, they are both completely eclipsed by Jet Li, whom, for someone with little or no formal training in acting, has more presence than both Gibson and Glover combined, and that's before he starts kicking people. When he does let loose, you can only stand in awe while watching a master practice his craft. Even if you don't like martial arts or action movies, Li's balanced combination of grace and power is just wonderful to watch. And in this fourth installment of the Lethal Weapons series, the only thing to say is, Li IS the movie. When his character isn't on screen, you're merely waiting for him to make his appearance, and Gibson and Glover are little more than filler. Sorry Danny and Mel, but there's just no comparison.

Summary: Lethal Weapon 4 is a better follow up to the original
Review: Certainly better than 2 & 3, this is by far the closest one that measures up to the original, the villian in this one (Jet Li) practically puts Gary Busey's character (The first film's villian) to shame, In this one Riggs & Murtaugh are up against chinese counterfeiters who will kill without hesitation, but the beginning is real cool as Riggs & Murtaugh try to disarm a flamethrowing-trigger-happy individual, who is causing havoc, Riggs disarms him in a rather comical scene, but Jet Li is definately a cool villian,(almost reminds you of Darth Maul) who not only displays martial-arts very nicely but kicks the hell out of Riggs & Murtaugh, when they infiltrate his operation that involves smuggling less unfortunate chinese members & their families who he uses as slave labor to print his counterfeiting operation, at one point he tries to kill them & Lorna Cole(Renee Russo) who is pregnant as well as Murtaugh's family, Rianne(Murtaugh's daughter) is also pregnant,by burning their house down, they escape & what follows is one of the best car chases not seen in a while, one sequence involves Riggs & Murtaugh crashing into a building & coming out the other side (unreal) but a fun scene nonetheless, the showdown between Li & Murtaugh & Riggs is a tense scene in itself, but satisfying, Chris Rock is on hand as a fellow detective as well as Joe Pesci's Leo who appears only as a but of jokes, the ending is a little idiotic in that it makes fun of a woman in labor, but overall a good follw-up to the original & much better than 2&3 I think.

Summary: One of the best in the lethal weapon series
Review: Iv been a huge fan of the lethal wepon series and I gota say this is the best of them.Very very funny and they even added in a few other great charecters to make the movie even higher quality such as Jet li and Chris rock. Both play very good roles in the movie especaly Jet li,He makes the movie alot more action packed but Chris rock was mainly put in the movie for the comedy side of it.Joe pecsi is in it and he also makes the movie alot better.Iv been looking at other reviews about this movie and alot are calling them low quality and the most part of the movie they are complaining about is that it has to much swearing, well you know what,I hate to see unpositive reviews about a good movie such as this one and I got somthing to say,if you think its to violent and you cant handle the swearing then dont watch it you little babys.I say this movie is high quality and it has lots of swearing THAT MAKES IT EVEN BETTER.Buy this movie, you wont regret it.

Summary: Have some fun
Review: The "lethal" part of the title may not fit this franchise anymore, but I still had fun. Riggs is shown as a real person, grappling with being in love with someone and feeling he's betraying his dead wife because of it. I thought Leo's little parable about his frog was quite well done. They should have given Jet Li a lot more to do, since he steals every scene he's in anyway, but I thought the showcase of his talents was handled well enough...for an American film.
