Rating: 3 stars
Summary: I've seen worse! But not much worse!
Review: Kung-fu's response to Plan 9 From Outer Space. Sadly, the action sequences cannot compensate for wretched dialogue, stale directing. But Lundgren and Lee do fine with what they're given. And I have this on video! Somebody PLEASE rescure Dolph from this! Did anybody pay money to see this!

Summary: Showdown In Little Tokyo REVIEW
Review: Looking for good pointless buddy action? Look no further. Before Brandon Lee's unforunate and tragic death and Dolph Lundren's exile to straight-to-video fare, the two did this average and predictable but fun and fast-paced action film. Lundgren is the American trained in the Hong Kong style while Lee is vice-versa and the two are looking to track down the always-evil Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who is the distributor of a new lethal form of drugs that is killing kids on the streets. If that's not enough, Tagawa murdered Dolph's parents when he was just a child so this is a mission of revenge.

At just a little bit over an hour and ten minutes, this movie gets right to the point and fast. You get a whole lot of kicking and shooting but not too much of anything else. If you are a fan of either Lundgren or Lee then it's worth a look but non-action fans may want to skip this.

Summary: Rent it then forget about it
Review: Movie critics often make the mistake of attempting to review martial arts films as serious pieces of work. So naturally they end up trashing the film because 'it' doesn't have the chops (no pun intended). But this 87-minute total rental is worth every penny. Park your brain at the door and enjoy the snappy cliche dialogue which actually has a lot of humour, the superb (for a low-budget American production) martial arts editing, and most of all the looks on the actors faces, most of whom look like they can't believe they did this film for the money.

Summary: Forget Martin Lawrence and Will Smith
Review: Showdown in Little Tokyo features some of the original Bad Boys of police movies.

I admit, it's a little cheesy, but it has everything you'd expect from a movie made for a male audience: Topless girls and kung-fu fighting. There's even a scene where a samurai uses his razor sharp sword to cut people into pieces. COOL!!!

Summary: Nice action/martial arts movie to add to your collection
Review: The keys to a great action/martial arts movie is you need a great villain and believable heros. This movie did it right. Unfortunately it isn't widescreen format.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Kinky Interracial sex scene was funny, and cool...
Review: The scene in which Japanese-American actor Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa (who also played the father in the children's TV series, "Johnny Tsunami") and the actress playing a *smoking-hot* blonde drug addict engage in sexual "foreplay" with the kantana blade was actually very hot, in a cheesy yet very original and sexy sort of way. Totally worth the viewing just for that scene!

Summary: really uncool woman scene
Review: The scene with the woman and the bad guys, just couldn't watch it and, therefore, made the whole movie seem evil.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Guilty Pleasure is Written all over this
Review: There is a Reason Dolph Lundgren has been around and it's not because of his incredible acting skills. The reason is that he is one of the icons of cheesy action films. So when you get an action comedy such as this it makes for a fun little trip for an hour and a half.

The story here is that Dolph Lundgren is police officer on the trail of the iron claw, a group of yakuza run by a man who murdered his parents when he was a child. He teams up with a wise cracking Brandon Lee and together along with a sexy Tia Carrea they take down the Sinister Drug Lord.

What makes the movie funny is that Dolph Lundgrens character is an america who is totally into the Japanese way of the Samurai while Brandon Lee grew up an American Mall Rat and is a fish out of water at some of the places that they go to search for these criminals.

Overall this is a simple early 90's action film that appeals to those who like to spend an afternoon hooting and hollering at bad guys getting their @$$ handed to them as well as the usual gratiouse nudity and one liner moments. Leathel Weapon this is not but for a good low price, you can't go wrong.
