Summary: What a big disappointment
Review: What a big disappointment. I am a huge Street Fighter fan- of the game, the toys, the movies... but this has been the worst. The plot line is slapped together, the animation is surprisingly bad with bad edits and the fight sequences was just poorly done. They have Akuma for all of 5 min which is a huge bummer and nothing new is said about any of the characters. Do not buy- definately rent.

Review: I am a HUGE Street Fighter fan and when I heard this movie was coming out I was extremely excited. After I finished watching it I was very depressed. First of all it's very misleading. Akuma is a big part of the cover of the box. He's in it about a total of 1min. He doesn't fight once unless you count the one jump kick at the end. Second, Chun Li is UGLY! I'm a major Chun Li fan and to see her as ugly as that is very disappointing. Third, Ken and Chun Li fight great but they don't win a single fight in the entire movie. Fourth, Shun, Ryu's brother, is STUPID! Instead of him following Ryu would it have killed them to make it Sakura? That's how it's supposed to be. Fifth, Sakura is barely in it and she doesn't have a single fight and she breaks her leg on a rock or something. Sixth, at the end of the movie they bring in all the Alpha characters and have them fighting for no reason. Plus you only see most of them for a split second. The WORST part of the whole movie is the villain. It's this nerdy mad scientist who's goal is to steal the Alpha characters moves in order to become the strongest fighter for reasons unexplained. His main goal is to steal Ryu's "dark hado" which is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. Every fight Ryu gets into brings out his dark hado. Rose comes to him to give him advice even though Rose is supposed to be going after Bison who isn't even in the movie. Chun Li tells Ryu and Ken that she's going with them to look for her father even though she never even tries. I had such high hopes for this movie. The first one was FAR better than this even though the voice acting was terrible in it. The best thing I can say about this movie is that the voice acting is great with some truly beautiful artwork except for Chun Li and some other characters.

Summary: a worthy continuation
Review: "Street Fighter Alpha: the movie" is a no hold free for all filled with beautiful animation, incredible fight scenes and decent music. Where the film falls short is in a sometimes overpredictable story. The voice cast does a good job. Yet I was dissapointed that Ryu never fought Akuma in this film. Compared to "Street Fighter II: THE MOVIE" this film is quite a few steps down. Yet for those of us whom have loved the game and the anime since it arrived this is a fun film that is a worth watching. Note only diehard Street Fighter fans should buy the DVD. Anyone else woulf\d be better renting this movie. This film contain no rating yet I would rate it PG-13 for non-stop martial arts violence, and some gore.

Summary: Original and a new beginning
Review: Fist of all if you are a die hard ryu fan it's not a mistake to buy this.. i'm pleased with it, and it's not mean to be compared with the other street fighter series.. alpha has it's own story line .. why expect bison in there ? it's a fresh attempt to define a new style of SF taken from the alpha version of the game (utilizing the art style) which must develop.. it's not an all out every sf fighter from the game in a game style tournament.. just a particular time and even in the life of ryu and ken..there is also going to be a sequel this is 1 of 2 parts .the artwork is beautiful.. the emotion is real.. if you are not a serious anime fan who gets into your films and feel the charachter's (particularly why it's suited for ryu fans)identity then u should just rent.. this is for real ryu fans ..and the movie builds the charachter of ryu.. i hope more series will follow.. it would be good to grow with ruy.

Summary: It was okay.............
Review: This Movie was good, the fights scenes are, in my opinion, nicely done and the story is interesting. But my only fault with this movie is that it didn't develop around any other characters besides Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Sakura. Oh well I guess since it was only 90 minutes and not a whole series that has to be forgiven. Oh and Charlie isn't in it like I'd expected and he is one my second favorite character aside from Ryu, oh well, all in all a decent movie.

Summary: Good anime for anime fans.
Review: I personally liked this movie a lot. I know some Street Fighter fanatics will most likely be turned off by the unrelated story line and focus on only several of the characters, but despite some minor gripes - the movie was fun to watch. I'm a general anime fan, and from what I have seen, SFAlpha has some excellent animation. Character design is simple (just like the Aplha games) and the signature character moves are generally faithful to their digital counterparts. There was way more talking than I expected, but the fighting scenes were up to par with the original movie (if not better). I thought they should've focused more on the Alpha characters instead of these new people (the kid and the villan). Akuma is also severly underplayed - but nevertheless, he's hella cool looking when he's on the screen. Dan is also around for the comic relief (gettin' his rear kicked). Again, this is my opinion - but I really liked the movie and I think that the money put into the DVD was worth it. If you're an anime fan, check it out. If you're a street fighter fan... rent it before you buy it.

Summary: DISSAPOINTING
Review: SO much hype for this movie..... too much... and was my antsyness fulfilled? Definately not... the animation was poor, storyline so so... only a few characters introduced... blah! The trailer is deceiving.. "5stars" "best SF anime" whatever man! I am a really big SF fan, saw every anime and played every videogame out there. Rent this one first...

Summary: .....Terrible
Review: Capcom...why oh why have you done this to us? With the first Street Fighter Animated movie, I longed to see Akuma thrown into the mix. And I thought this was my chance. But alas, no. Capcom has instead, ruined the awesome Alpha storyline by deviating from anything related to it.... I hope you like Ryu and his struggle with the Dark Hadou. Because that's what you're pretty much forced to look at for an hour and a half. And yet! The back of the DVD box shows the movie's running time at 2 hours. Not to mention this movie supposedly follows the SFII V too, but it doesn't at all. The characters are very dull, and they like the plot, struggle to hold your attention after the first 15 minutes. The villian in this was one of the lamest things I've ever seen in an anime. Who is this guy? Or better yet, who cares? There's no Bison here folks. Just some mentions of Shadowlaw. The action is few and far between, and when it does come, it's cheesy. The animation quality is really suffering in this movie. While the style is true to the Alpha series, it's not very vibrant. I would suggest if you want a good SF anime movie, get the first one. It has the Classic Chun-Li vs. Vega fight. Oh yes, and a personal note on Chun-Li in this movie. I'm not saying it's a totally bad thing her... Perhaps this is more of a personal thing, but I found it rather annoying and demeaning to Chun-Li as a character. With myself and a group of friends viewing this movie, 50% either walked away, or fell asleep. And the other 50% (with myself included in that percentage) was bored. End of story here: Rent it, but for all that Street Fighter, don't buy this.

Summary: Terrible excuse for a SF movie
Review: This movie was extremely hyped up. This was an extremely big disappointment.

It was disappointing for these reasons:

1. The movie did not follow the storyline to the Alpha series, and not enough characters were in the movie.

2. The new characters should not have been included in the first place(i.e Shun!!!)

3. The plot was too childish. What I mean is that Manga and Capcom should have just marketed this to kids, and removed the blood.
