Review: I had lots of fun watching the fights in this movie, the were wicked, I wish JCVD would make more movies like this and the Quest. If you like fighting or martial arts watch it

Summary: For Sheer Beauty....
Review: The sheer beauty of Van Damme at his peak make this film watching many times over. Yes, I realize the faults others have mentioned, but just to see his balletic grace in action and his extremely buff physique have enthralled me for years. The final fight scene, in which he does the flying split kick, may not be technically accurate (yes his groin is wide open), but it knocks my socks off! As a matter of fact, I didn't even realize that there was a Bloodsport 2 until I ordered it here on Amazon, and am panting with eagerness to see it. Now if we could just see more like this, Lionheart and Kickboxer, I'd love it! (More of Van Damme's strengths and less acting and gratuitous violence.)

Summary: VAN DAMME IS A GOD
Review: OK, WE ALL REALIZE THAT JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME IS A GOD... BUT THIS MOVIES PROVES IT. YES, YES, I KNOW THAT THIS WAS ONE OF HIS EARLY MOVIES, AND THE ACTING MAY LEAVE A BIT TO BE DESIRED, BUT OVER ALL, IT WAS A GREAT MOVIE! NOT ONLY THE MAIN CHARACTER IS THE SEXIEST MAN ON EARTH, BUT THE PLOT IS WELL WRITTEN. IT HAS A GOOD DEVELPOING THEME ON PRIDE AND INTEGRITY. THE MARTIAL ARTS ASPECT IS GOD, AS WELL AS THE DRAMA.

I WOULD DEFINITLY URGE OTHERS TO SEE IT!

Summary: Highly Predictable, but with Fair Choreography
Review: Not bad work from Arnold & VanDamme. Follows the usual predictable martial arts movie plot (really, we wouldn't expect anything less!). I am however fascinated that reviewers, et al still write about the events on this movie being based upon the "real life" experiences of Frank Dux. Dux has long been discredited as a liar and fake, both as a martial artist (Dux was never in a "kumite" competition), and as a military "hero" (never in the CIA, and was only in the Marines for 6 mos., & never left the U.S. during the Vietnam era), see LA Times Valley edition, May 1, 1988 article "Ninja: Hero or Master Fake?" by John Johnson. Of course, none of this detracts from VanDamme's attempts at acting. If you want plot, you'll be disappointed. But if you like correography--then buy this movie and get ready to use the fast forward button!

Summary: Poor, unrealistic fight scenes
Review: You don't watch a Van Damme movie for the acting, which is truly awful here. You watch a Van Damme movie for the fight scenes. And this movie is very disappointing, with its unrealistic, almost comical fight scenes. Why does the Van Damme character bellow like an idiot after he strikes his opponent??? All martial arts teach the fighter to yell, or breathe, as he hits the target! A bad, bad movie and time-waster. Save your money and time!

Summary: BEST MARTIAL ARTS MOVIE SINCE "ENTER THE DRAGON"
Review: Jean Claude-Van Damme's screen debut. Newt Arnold doe OK job directing. Based on TRUE events in the life of retired UNDEFEATED WORLD KUMITE CHAMPION Frank Dux. Dux himself appears in film as one of the Kumite contestants. He's the one in the red shorts fighting Van Damme. I'm a 5TH DEGREE GREEN BELT in the style of ISSHINRYU KARATE in my dojo here on Karpathos. And I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this film NOT ONLY for Van Damme fans, but martial arts fans as well. BUY this GREAT flick. 5 STARS.
