Review: This film, although it has some differences in the plot (small details that JRR's fans will recognize) was made beautifully, and is a must-have for all fans of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The animation is well made (even for a 1977 film!). I suggest, anyone who likes to explore new worlds should buy this movie (and read the books!), you won't regret it.

Summary: A very great attempt at retelling the classic story
Review: This is a great video, and, in my opinion, it works to a great degree. If you have read the book (that is, paid attention to it, not just skim through it in 6th grade or wherever), you will note that most of the movie is correct. There are a few discrepencies, but that's ok in my opinion. If you are a roll playing game fan, I highly recommend you buy this movie (and book)! The series of Tolkein books (and movies) is recommended RPG reading. Cheers!

Summary: Hey, at least they tried!
Review: If you're a big fan of Tolkien, this version of "The Hobbit" will probably be a big disappointment. I just don't feel they did a good job of capturing Middle Earth. The soundtrack is awful, Gollum is awful, and the elves look like evil gnomes! On the positive side, I liked Gandalf & the Dwarves OK. They also changed some of the plot for no good reason.

Review: I listened to the cds and loved them; of course the book is better but the movie was awesome! It's one I've gotta get; same with the LOTR movie. If anyone has not seen or read the book and movie, they really should! Tolkien is a great writer!
