Review: My goodness! Can you say, BORING? I was enticed by all the rave reviews and saw the movie, but I lived to regret it. Horribly done, the story leaves little to the imagination. My advice, if curiousity drives you mad, see the movie. But if you can, avoid it entirely!

Summary: If you see one Miyazaki film in your lifetime ...
Review: ... see Kiki's Delivery Service. In fact, if you see just one anime film in your lifetime, make it this one. There's just so little to hate about Kiki. It's beautifully produced, the flying scenes are awesome, and the music is perfectly suited to the film. One of my friends who's more into action/sci-fi type anime absolutely ADORED Kiki's Delivery Service, even though it's not really his type. This is the perfect film to prove to American laypersons that Japanese anime is more than just Pokemon and Sailor Moon.Easily the best anime movie of all time, with apologies to Grave of the Fireflies.

Review: A beautiful film to watch for adults and children alike. The artwork is exquisite and the intricate background plates create a wonderful world in which the story unfolds. This film is both refreshing and surprising, steering deftly away from kitsch. The animation is some of the best I have seen. My favourite character? It has to be the cat.

Review: Kiki's Delivery Service is simply a wonderful work of animation. The U.S. box art does not do it justice. Hayao Miyazaki creates a simple, yet beautiful look to this story of a young witch-girl as she goes out into the world on her own. Like many of Miyazaki's films, this one goes beyond the scope of most anime titles entertaining not only anime fans, but almost anyone else as well. Although not "disneyesque" in its artistic style, Kiki's Delivery Service is of top-notch animation and rivals any disney film in its overall execution. Orginally, I saw this in Japanese so I recommend the subtitled version. I have heard that the English version is well done as too. Either way, I believe this title won't disappoint.

Review: Hayao Miazaki has given children & adults alike another wonderful movie centered around the journey of self-discovery that Kiki, a young witch-in-training, goes through. The animation is truly breath-taking! A delightful movie for the entire family.

Summary: A very Special Film
Review: No Violence, no sex, no bad languages, a perfect treasure for children. Even Disney has violence or some notion of sex in their films, but not this! A fun and enchanting film with actually REAL characters, like KIKI. Usually children's films have very two dimensional characters, be it, adventurous and fun, or just downright strict and boring. But KIKI is very real in her character. I'm 16, but I still enjoyed this and anyone from 1~100 will probably enjoy this.

Review: Another wonderful movie by animator Hayao Miazaki! A beautiful story about the emerging self-discovery & independence of Kiki, a young girl who is also a good witch-in-training. It is through Kiki's own doubts of her self does she discover her true self & ability. Visually, this is a stunning movie with astounding animation - the scenes of Kiki flying high above the city are absolutely breath-taking. Her side-kick, JiJi, is masterfully voiced by the late Phil Hartman, who endowes the black cat with wit & wisdom. If you love animation, you must see Kiki's Delivery Service & be immersed in the beautiful & innocent world of it's masterful animator & writer!

Summary: My Children Like It More Than Barney
Review: Kiki's Delivery Service is an animated masterpiece about a 13 year old witch-in-training who, as a matter of tradition, leaves home to experience life on her own for a year. This movie is such a treasure. Breath-takingly crafted it's a visual experience worth taking time out of your day to enjoy. The story is fresh and surprisingly down to Earth considering the subject matter. It's focus is more on dealing with life as a thirteen year old girl than it is about being a witch. There are two bonuses if you have children: 1) There is not one inappropriate moment in this movie such as name calling or mild violence (which even Toy Story has). 2) My children like it more than Barney.

Summary: Simply beautiful...
Review: Sweet storyline and interesting characters. Phil Hartman is charming as the cat. I'm glad he voiced it before he left us. More than anything I enjoyed the detail and care taken in the animation. The wonderful backgrounds, the characters expressions, the blowing grass as Kiki lies listening to the radio. I'm grateful to Mr. Miyazaki for giving American viewers another chance, after some of his other films were so poorly translated. I know how he treasures his work. I anxiously await the release of Nausicaa by Disney ( avoid the English translation Warriors of the Wind ).

Summary: What a sweet sweet tale about a good little witch!
Review: I've been raised on a steady diet of anime most of my life and I saw this film in the anime club at my college. And I also bought the video for my private collect. Hayao Miyazaki is a true master when it comes to animating his own creations; this film is a refreshingly innocent work of art set apart from most of the anime, which consists a little too frequently of underaged sex objects all dressed up in sailor-style school uniforms as well as gut-wrenchingly graphic violence, eye-popping gore, and sexual exploitation of young girls far below the legal age. In the film, we become one with a budding young witch first setting out on her coming-of-age journey and learning to cope with her newly found independence in another town - the kind you can find in well-illustrated storybooks. We can feel Kiki's truimphs and frustations throughout the tale, including her frostiness with a really charming young boy named Tombo. And the scene where Tombo takes Kiki for a ride on his propellel-powered bicycle will literally lift you right off your feet! However, there are a couple of things in the film that kind of disappoint me. First, there's a bit of really wild action where young Tombo is dangling in great peril from a runaway blimp. This affects the believablity of this situation quite a bit, but the tension buildup itself is marvelously carried out nevertheless. And I am really sorry that the talking kitty never spoke ever again after he made it with a lady cat. Overall, it is truly a wonderful vision all about innocence and joyness that everyone should share!
