Summary: It's a Jim Henson Classic Sleeper Blockbuster
Review: Why it is out of print is a mystery. It is a must see Jim Henson film for ages 5 to 105. It even has a cult following on the net because it is that enchanting of a movie.

Summary: A wonderful movie for the kids... Great Jim Henson fun!!
Review: I watched this movie for the first time as a young child and , I must say, it definitely appeals to the imagination of young and old alike. The puppets and the scenery are very fanciful and identify well with the fairy tale story line.Jennifer Connelly plays a young girl who lives in her ficticious dream world with princesses and goblins. When she makes the mistake of taking the fairy tale for granted, her bratty baby brother is swept away by none other than the almighty Goblin King (played by David Bowie.) She is forced to search through a twisting, mystical maze called the Labyrinth. Along her way she makes friends who are also fed up with the Goblin King and his shenanigans. The music provided by the talented David Bowie brings the story to life. It excites the kid in you and leaves you with at least one song in your heart. Jim Henson's muppets are as colorful and imaginative as ever and they conjure up rememberances of the fanciful visions that we used to dream of as children. This film is definitely worth seeing again and again and again...

Summary: I <3 Bowie
Review: David Bowie as the Goblin King was truley magical, expessially because of how gorgeous he is and because of his charming wit. the music in the film is fantastic, i highly reccomend buying the soundtrack to this film as well. Jennifer Connoly plays Sara beautifully, and this edition is absolutley wonderful. it is the ultimate item to own for any fan. It also provides a MUCH clearer picture, compared to the original. The picture is much more sharp and looks like the film was made recently and not in the 80s. i would buy this in a second. 100% viewer satisfaction.

Summary: Timeless magic
Review: On its' release this little gem of a film was overlooked and not the hit it deserved to be.
The story centres around Sarah, a teenager, who resents her stepmother and Toby, her baby stepbrother and 'wishes' for the goblins to take him away. When they do Sarah finds herself journeying through the labyrinth of the goblin king (Bowie) in order to save him.
She befriends an assortment of creatures such as Hoggle, a grumpy dwarf type being and Ludo, a massive, hairy beast who has a gentle nature. They accompany and help Sarah on her way to the goblin king's castle where Toby is being held.
Jim Hensons workshop has worked it's usual magic and the film is littered with songs written and performed by David Bowie.
This film is pure entertainment for any age group, well worth watching.

Summary: Henson's Masterpiece
Review: This movie represents Jim Henson at the zenith of his craft. Filmed in the mid-eighties, it stands the test of time very well, especially compared to the computer graphics-laden fantasies of later years. There is something about the wonderful puppet characters that computer-generated pixels simply can't match.

The plot is rather simple, but that is a plus, not a minus. Jennifer Connelly (in a great pre-Rocketeer role) and David Bowie are excellent, and Bowie's musical soundtrack brings the world of the Labyrinth to life.

There are no real flaws in the movie, it bears multiple viewings very well, and deserves to be recognized as a landmark in the annals of fantasy films. The ending is also superb - unlike many similar movies, it feels "right".

The DVD presentation is basic, with a few extra features thrown in, but they won't be the reason anyone purchases this film. The reason will be to see a prime example of what the world lost when Jim Henson passed on.

Summary: Labyrinth The Collector's Edition
Review: This is the best fantasy/fiction movie ever! I saw this movie when i was 6 or so and i fell in love with it- ( and David Bowie). I thought he was great as the Goblin King and had a crush on him despite all his make up and glammed up look. He was so mysterious and the role fit him perfectly. Full of imagination, cute puppets and a great story. I suggest you get the Collectors edition boxed set because it contains over one hundred photo gallery images, behind the scenes( case character and script), poster gallery, story boards, a inside the labyrinth making of feauturette, trailers, talent files etc...
Also contains a cool collectors edition scene composite with a story on the back of Sarah encountering (The fierys) as they dance around her. Also comes with a collectors edition picture of horetenz and drawings plus a Collectors booklet with pictures and stories. This is truly a remarkable memorable film and will be loved by all ages! Highly Recomended. 5 Stars.

Summary: One of the best fantasies I've ever seen
Review: The one thing that teenage Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) hates the most is her baby brother Toby. One night, when Sarah is forced to babysit Toby against her will, she makes a wish that he would be taken by the Goblin king, where he would be forced to live as a goblin. She didn't mean it, of course. But her wish has been granted. Jareth (David Bowie), the King of the Goblins, has kidnapped Toby and taken him to his castle. If Sarah ever wants him back, she'll have to get to the center of a gigantic labyrinth where anything is possible and nothing is as it seems.

LABYRINTH is truly a wonderful fantasy movie that will bring out the inner spirit in any adult. It's got everything a fantasy needs. Fairy tale creatures, tons of humor, and definitely tons and tons of magic. One of the things that make this a-better-than average fantasy is the people who work on it. David Bowie supplies tons of great songs for this movie that any fan will want to hear. Also, Jim Henson takes a break from the Muppets and provides some interesting looking puppets for this film.

A great thing that LABYRINTH has going for it is its suspense. Right as Sarah enters the labyrinth, you'll be on your toes, hoping she'll make it out alive. Of course, there are plenty of times when Sarah could've certainly ended up dead, but it's a fantasy. Along with suspense is romance. David Bowie plays a character deeply in love. Forget the fact that he's probably over a few centuries old, and she's only a teenager. This is definitely a must-see for any fantasy fan who hasn't seen it yet.

Summary: Absolutely hilarious!
Review: Just forget the plot of the film or the themes of adolesent responobility yada yada yada... this film is worth every single penny just to see the sheer hilarity of some of the things that crop up!

Now i'm older, I appreciate more the little glow worm that talks to the girl... it is hilarious! The film is worth every penny for that scene. Secondly, seeing David Bowie jump about in those revealingly tight leggins is strangely funny and entertaining (i'm suprised they let children watch the film after seeing him in those leggins!) Thirdly, the way he dances and chucks a fake baby around during 'Magic Dance' is totally hysterical!

Other funny things are watching that fox riding on a dog... what is that all about! And seeing the 'Bog of Eternal Stench'! Okay, so maybe i'm being a bit immature now, but essentially this film is great! A cult classic! Everyone loves it!

Summary: Crystalline Dreams
Review: This is definitely a five-star film for me. It's a lot of fun and I know a lot of people who really enjoy it. I've even been able to convince some of my friends to watch it a few times, and got them into writing Fan Fiction for the movie. The movie is very colorful and has some great characters.Sarah and Jareth, are the main two characters. They work well with each other. Both characters have flaws and really harmonize well in that sense.

David Bowie is great as King Jareth and Jennifer Connelly is good too. I love all of the funky costumes for Jareth and the puppets created by Jim Henson. Henson does a great job directing this movie. It's really good for kids because they get to learn about friendships and having to grow up. It's good for anyone though, really, because it's so creatively vibrant and wild creative.
