Summary: It's an A - maze - ing movie!
Review: David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly star in this outrageously adventurous movie! It all begins when Sarah (Connelly) trys to stay in her childhood by playing with her dolls and just living in a child's world. Her parents always make her watch her baby half brother at the last second. One night when they suprise her again, she says an evil incantation and asks the Goblin king (Bowie) to come take her brother away. When Toby really does get taken away by the Goblin King, she realizes that she has to jump in to reality. The Goblin King makes a deal where she has to find her way to the castle through a huge Labyrinth before his clock strikes 13! He does everything he can to keep the baby for the baby will turn into a Goblin if she doesn't get him in time! The Goblin King does everything possible to keep the little boy including speeding up time and distracting her with her dream of fantasy life, living like Cinderella in the ballroom, the prince (Bowie, Goblin king) wants her to dance with him, in my opinion, be the Goblin Queen! Through a Labyrinth, meeting some new friends, and finding their way through some extreme puzzles, will Sarah really rescue her brother? Or will she take the Goblin King's offer and live her dream in the fantasy world?

Summary: A Magical Journey!
Review: You'll love it! It's about a girl who wishes some goblins would take her baby half-brother away so she wouldn't have to babysit him. But when it really happens, the goblin king offers her an oppertunity to try and get to his castle in the center of the labyrinth before the time is up or the baby becomes his. She accepts not realizing that the labyrinth is magical and things aren't always what they seem. She meets some very unusual friends on the way that will for sure make you laugh. David Boweie has written great songs for this movie! Buy it today!

Summary: Mutant Fraggle Horror
Review: This movie offers a variety of frights ranging from fraggles on LSD to fraggles that got fed after midnight. Don't do any drugs before watching it. David Bowie is cool, but he seems to have a rolled up sock in his tights. All joking aside, Jennifer Connoly is right hot.

Summary: David Bowie scares me
Review: Okay, people have been telling me to watch this for years. I must say, it is worth watching. It's a well done fantasy, as only Jim Henson can do it. It reminds me a lot of the Alice books. The music really lends to the atmosphere, although I can't quite make sense of how some of the songs fit into the story line (e.g. the song in the Escher setting). David Bowie is really freaky, especially with his tight pants and wacky hair. It's a very eighties movie.

Summary: For all those who are still dreming of another world
Review: Oh my God! This is just a supreme movie which captured me at the tender age of 5 years old. When I was a child I thought I was going to get tired of it when I grew up. BUT NO. Now I am 19, and I'm still enjoying the magic and fantasy of Labyrinth, and will let Henson's bequest to my descendants. Needless to say that this so 80's look in all the hair, costumes and music has remained until today, without looking so old fashioned as in other similar movies.

From the "Underground" credits to the touching end, this movie is better than anyone could think just by looking at its plot or its cover. It's not about a girl who has to get trough a labyrinth to get back her brother. It is deeper,it's about the negation of growing up, about being in self-created world full of criatures you've ever dreamed of. Labyrinth is about me and all those people in the world who still believe in another land where you can live a never ending childhood.

At the end of the movie Hoggle and Sir Didymus say: "Should you need us, should you need us for any reason at all...". Then, I need you Hoggle, Sarah, Jareth, Ludo, all of you, just to make my own private fantasy land complete and real.

I KNEEL DOWN TO YOU, SIR HENSON

Summary: "A Fairy Tale Told Right"
Review: I love the work of Jim Henson. I enjoy watching the movies and television programs he produced and directed because he was a great film maker and puppeteer. Many of his creations are loveable and some are stunning. However, the main reason I love the work of Jim Henson is because he was a great storyteller who he knew how to tell fairy tales right.

Most people today get their idea of fairy tales from the watered down Disney variety. As much as I enjoy Disney films, it is sad that the true stories are being lost. Sadder still is that if people were to actully listen to and read fairy tales in the way they were meant to be listened to and read, the storyteller would be accused of being a sick and violent person (even though the society we live in is much more sick and violent).

Jim Henson was not afraid of telling a story in the way it was meant to be told. Jim Henson told fairy tales the right way. Such is the case in LABYRINTH.

LABYRINTH is sort of a modern day fairy tale. Sarah is selfish and doesn't want to babysit her crying baby brother. So, she wishes for the goblins to take him away. Did anyone ever tell you to be careful for what you wish for because it might come true? Well, that's just what happens here. The goblins steal Sarah's brother, Toby, and take him to the castle in the goblin city. Sarah can save her brother, but only if she can successfuly navigate the labyrinth that leads to the city in a short amount of time. Sarah begins the quest and in doing so meets up with several loveable, frightening, and confusing creatures. They have several adventures which ultimately lead to Sarah's confrontation with the Goblin King.

LABYRINTH is a delightful fairy tale adventure. It has scary monsters, a fight against evil, and a moral lesson. Children will enjoy watching it. However, I think adults may enjoy it even more because they will understand the parrell between the "fantasy world" and Sarah's (and perhaps your own) real life.
