Rating: Summary: Can I see it again Review: i love this movie the reason though i give it 4 stars is because they left two main parts at the ending and the middle but it was great ps read the books their also great. First when Harry didnt know he was a wizard he had a horrible life but soon he was in the spell of magic AS always expected Harry was so magical. Youngest wizard soccer player and other things make Harry great if the added one part at the end that they took off i could gladly give it a 100 stars (5 stars now!) but from two left out sceans i must give it four but it should be 5 a wonderful movie you can't not miss it if you do your missing a year a wizardry!
Rating: Summary: The Books Are Better, But Still Good Review: OK, I have see the movie, but I must say that it's very much a kids movie, very entertaining & I did enjoy it, but I really like the books better. They did change a few things, from the book, but I can't really compare the two, that's not fair! But I do have to pick at 1 thing & that was, did they even name his owl? Because I can't even remember Harry calling her Hedwig!!!! I am more a LOTR fan, But I did enjoy both (LOTR more) & won't compare them too each other :) All I have to say is, I hope the DVD version is much more longer!!!! Still all the best to the kids :)
Rating: Summary: A great movie for all ages Review: I enjoyed this movie, as did everyone else who went with me, including those who didn't read any of the books. It was just the right length (no boredom!), scenery and costumes were similar to what I visualized while reading the book and the plot was very close to the book. I'm looking forward to the next movie in this series. Great movie!
Rating: Summary: The best movie of all time Review: This movie was definately the best movie I have ever seen. Their were somethings left out but it was still excellent. The cast was amazing and everything from the quidditch scene to the size of Hagrid was excellent. This is definately a movie worth seeing and I will definately see the second installment to it. I highly recommend seeing this movie it is awesome!
Rating: Summary: The Wizard That Started A World Craze Review: I saw this movie the second day it came out. I had read the books (like almost everyone else in the world). *Haha* I knew it was going to be a hit as soon as I sat down in the theatre. It was captivating. (I mean there (or course) were kids all over the place. They were regular kids, noisey, loud, full of energy but, as soon as the movie started it went dead silence. I've never seen a theatre go so quiet so soon. There was one little 6 year old boy that was sitting in front of me. He was really wild. But, I noticed that when the movie started he stopped almost imediatly. I glanced at him a couple times through the movie...he never moved. I'd never seen a 6 year old sit still so long.) The special effect in this movie were great. Chris Columbus did an awesome job. (Thank you, J.K. Rowlings for finally agreeing to make "Harry Potter" into a movie.)
Rating: Summary: Great book, great movie Review: I've read all of the books twice. I've seen the movie twice. I just loved the movie. Sure, it didn't have any great social commentary or deep insight into human nature but it was just loads of fun. It was almost exactly like the book, the parts that were left out were understandable, and it worked because of that. During the quidditch match my palms were soaked. This movie was just pure fun from start to finish.
Rating: Summary: What!!!??? Review: Beware they left out a whole lot of stuff but that didn't change the quality.ALL the actors were terrific and reely express their charecters. However it did not win any golden globes which stunned Harry Potter fans ,or me anyway. If you liked it in theaters this one should be better it has; - hours of new footage - a tour of Hogwarts - you get to perform tansfiguaration -mix potions -and explore diagon Alley Well thats what I hear any way so if you like Harry Potter this is the king of must haves! :)
Rating: Summary: wonderful piece of fantasy Review: I will be glad to see this on DVD. Can't wait to see all the extras. This is by far the best FANTASY(not SCI-FI)movie created to date. LOTR is good too but, lacks action. It is refreshing to see someone take the book and transform it to the screen. Although there were too many "jumps" in the story for my taste; I understood the reasons for them. I saw the movie twice in the theatre(lack of money for more times). What more can I say??? BUY THIS MOVIE!!!!
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the books Review: This is a good movie, but not as good as the books. Its slow moving sometimes, and the special effects and acting are great. I just think that the books are better, and the movie is not as great as I thought it would be. I was expecting something a little more than I saw. Clearly everyone's going crazy over this movie, but I think this movie is more one of those "rent it on video" movies. In my opinion its a dissapointing transition from book to film.
Rating: Summary: Dare I Say I Thought the Movie Was Better! Review: I adore "Harry Potter", the book. But, with a capital B-U-T, The movie was absolutely awesome. It stuck very close to the original story line, only deleting a few scenes that had no effect on the movie. I was in awe of the visual effects. I haven't seen anything so alive , real, and "wild" since "Labyrinth" or "The Adventures of Baron Munchaussen". The characters, some you would not believe COULD be brought to the screen are, with absolute perfection. Not a single drop of their quirks and funny dialect lost. I mean, I never expected Hagrid, the sorting hat, or the Quidditch game to be as visual as they were in the book. I was dead wrong. My husband would look over at me in the theater (which at 2pm, was filled with adults trying to see the movie without the kids) and would tell me to close my mouth. Apparently I had my mouth hanging wide open through the whole movie. I have a countdown calender in my house for the movie's release. I have no children. This movie only requires a love for the unbelievable.
