Summary: They are black
Review: The only thing i do not like about them is that if you forget to label your cdr, you can not tell if you wrote to them based off of light bouncing off of the "tracks".

Other then that execelent quality, not a bad burn yet. They seem thicker then my previous memorex pack.

Summary: Pretty cool lookers
Review: I bought these months ago and used them all on audio CD's using an HP 8230E. We had no problems with any of the CD-R's and got a great price right here at Amazon. My son loved them because they looked different. The only thing I found different was that I couldn't look at the disk and tell if it had been written to or not. Not a problem, I just stuck them in a CD player.

Summary: I like the black color
Review: I like these elegant looking CDs. I have made a few audio CDs and the sound quality is excellent. I will purchase more of these in the future. The only thing that is not good is that they do not come with any cases.

Summary: Anyone else have trouble reading these in DVD drives?
Review: I usually don't review products (other than networking and security books), but I want to share my troubles with these CD-Rs.

I have no problem burning to these CD-Rs, and I can read them in any CD drive I've tried. Unfortunately, my Thinkpad a20p's DVD drive does not recognize these black CD-Rs as valid media. At work, my Gateway Profile PC DVD drives can not recognize the black CD-R either. That problem severely degrades the usefulness of these CD-Rs.

I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this problem. I shared my findings with the maintainer of a CD media FAQ, and he stated he'd heard such problems before.

Summary: Be careful
Review: The disks look cool, but my Dell Inspiron 5000's internal DVD/CD drive completely ignores them. However, they work ok in my external sony USB CDRW drive and in the few Macs I've tried them in.

Summary: Can someone say playstation?
Review: The only reason I bought this was because it had the
cool black surface to it. I've always liked Memorex
CDRs though, and never had any trouble with it.

Summary: Buy another brand!
Review: I used memorex for the first cd I burned. Originally I bought a 650 mb CD-R's. But then I decided I needed a 700 for those times when I need some extra room. I was disapointed in the pack I got, while the the first five on top were 698mb cd's, the ones under them were 648mb, the size of the cdr's I originally bought.

So while yes, I've never had a bad cd, they don't all have the right number of megabytes. I'm just waiting for Amazon.com to come out with the 800mb ones.

Summary: I never use anything but the memorex Black cdr's
Review: I feel they are the best cdr's. there is definetly a noticable difference in audio quality compared to other cdr's, they sound great. They are rated for 100 years. The black underside looks hot, makes them look more professional than those cheesy green and light blue color cdr's, plus the black coating protects the cd from sunlight and from the laser,it also makes them more scratch resistant. I guess thats why they are rated to last so long. I cant stand to use any other cd's but these black memorex so I hope they will always be around.
