Summary: Great Film, Can Bypass the Previews on DVD
Review: This a must for all families! It does however have a few flaws in sound and the previews. They put the previews at the beginning of the DVD so you have to sit through them, once these previews start, you can not go straight to the menu. You instead have to forward through them. I have found a way to bypass the previews and go straight to the menu. If you turn on the DVD and before the licensing information starts, hit dvd menu and it will take you straight to the menu. (At least my Sony DVD player will) If you hit that menu button to late, though you're stuck or will have to turn the power off and try again. Otherwise, a great story that all ages will love. My 8 and 9 year olds have watched it 12 times already. Phil Collins does an excellent job on the music.

Summary: Caught again!
Review: I just read that Disney will be releasing a "Special Edition" of this video mid-April. They did the same with "A Bug's Life". I love the Disney Movies - but I'm not fond of this release the VHS version on DVD and follow it up with the "real thing". I purchased Tarzan - I don't know if I'll take the risk in the future.

Summary: Breathtaking
Review: Excellent effort from Disney. The animation is absoluteperfection. It almost seems three-dimensional sometimes. All thevoice talents did great jobs and the music was (surprisingly) outstanding. My only regret is that I didn't catch this in the theater. I'll definitely be getting the special edition DVD in April. END

Summary: THIS IS ONE FANTASTIC MOVIE
Review: I loved this movie nearly as much as my 2 year old daughter. The story line, although somewhat off the well worn path of past, was, in actuality, an improvement. The animation is indescribable. The pace could not have been better. Don't rent it, buy it in DVD form because if you buy the tape, your kids will wear it out.

Summary: Better than the Lion King?
Review: I recently got Tarzan on DVD and was fearing the worst (what with all the talk about a mislaid 5.0 DD soundtrack and all). Anyway, to my surprise, the DVD looked and sounded wonderful! This IS a reference quality DVD (however, the surrounds could have been more active). Be that as it may, the picture is stunning, the story is magnificently told, the music is great, Rosie IS appropriate and on and on. I was really looking forward to The Lion King as it WAS my fav. Now, I have a new favorite (and I already own it - GREAT!). I guess you could say I whole heartily endorse this DVD. I'm even going to buy the extended version. Keep up the quality Disney and you may get all your animations as #1 sellers yet! What a flic!

Summary: Worth Viewing But......
Review: Once again Disney has found the formula for a great animation film. The colors are vivid and the story line held my entire family's attention.

Here is where Disney drops the ball. Most DVD owners take the movie experience very seriously. Adding movie trailers to a DVD was not a smart move. Second, placing the Dolby Digital logo on its packaging when the movie plays back in 5.0 and not 5.1 is clearly a Mickey Mouse flaw.

Also, there is an unexplain pause around the thirty six minute mark (what up with that?). I realized that Disney was one of the last to join the DVD field. And Im sure they will realzied their slight annoyances and correct them on the next blockbuster.

Summary: What's all the hype about?
Review: I recently viewed Tarzan with my children, and truthfully was a little disappointed. Does anyone else feel that Disney's formula is wearing a little thin? OK, so we've got the middle-aged rock star scoring the music. And we've got some famous movie stars playing the characters. Disney obviously has the corner on the family market, but won't somebody in the entertainment field come up with something new and unique? What's the choice for us parents of small children? R-rated flicks or Disney? P-l-e-a-s-e! I am a subscriber to the Disney channel, but it all seems like a setup to me. Watch the Disney channel, see the movie, buy the video. Where are all the Frank Capras of this world? I'm tired of fantasy, I want some really inspirational stories from real life everyday people. HELP!

Summary: King of the Movies
Review: My previous Disney favorite was "Mulan", which had it all: humor, action, romance...but "Tarzan" beats them all. Not only does "Tarzan" have all of those aspects, but it also has incredible effects, heartfelt music by Phil Collins, and a stunning cast of voices. There's no challenge as to who is now the ruler of Disney animated movies.

Summary: Disney does it again
Review: Another classic has been added to the Disney line of films. The graphics are outstanding. Disney has always set the standard for animation starting with the first full-length classic "Bambi." Children and adults are both entertained with the sounds of the great Phil Collins. Recommended for all.

Summary: Great fun for all ages
Review: Not only did my four year old daughter love this movie, but the entire family enjoyed it. I applaud the strong female characters in Tarzan and Mulan. Disney had a long road to win me back after the flops of Pocohantas-incredibly racist movie-and the ridiculous Hunchback. Finally something worth watching! Tarzan had a great soundtrack, great visual effects, and likeable characters. Great choice for family viewing.

Warning-the leopard that kills Tarzan's parents can be a bit scary for the little ones. But, he overcomes his loss by standing up for his ape father in the end of the movie.

Despite the scary parts, my daughter loves it, and says, referring to Phil Collins: "Tarzan is a good singer."
