Summary: Style over Substance
Review: The MTV, jumpcut style, of action in the opening prison breakin, the later fight in the bathroom, and the warehouse fight (with the mirror gag) is first rate. Nobody does it better. The plot is melodramatic without earning it and the stylized look is extremely gooey. Post modern flash.

Summary: MADE FOR DVD
Review: This movie is from 91' so it couldn't have been made soley for the purpose of being put on DVD but it sure looks good on it.This movie contains probably the best cinematography there is out there, all the sets in the movie were designed specifically for the most extreme dynamic filming, and gives everything a beautiful 3-dimensional effect. As for the fights they are pretty few and far in between but deserve alot of credit for being extremley origional, and I must say that a couple of the fights were realy done well but should have been longer, but to say the least this is more movie than fights(so keep that in mind)I did enjoy this movie very much though and it is one of the few asian movies that could keep me entertained without all the fights. One of the best filmed movies out there, which is almost like watching a moving piece of art,I would have to say that this is only for the open minded to appreciate as it might send Kung-fu lovers a-stray,the only thing that would make this one better is more fights(highly reccomended on DVD)

Summary: Pathetically stupid and disappointing
Review: This sequel of "Saviour of the Soul" will put you to sleep within the first twenty minutes - unless you're a major Andy Lau fan. This movie succeeded in being corny, stupid, and uneventful in every way. The actors failed, using the worst acting I've ever seen, and the dialogue makes the movie even worse because it attempts at being funny. (It fails.)

The plot is completely unrelated to the the first "Saviour of the Soul" (which is much better). While the first movie concentrates on the romance of Andy Lau and his "lover", "Saviour of the Soul 2" completely shuns the female character. She's not even in it. Doesn't make sense, does it?

Bad editing. Bad sound. Bad fighting. Bad dialogue. Bad acting. Bad cinematography. Bad sets. This film asked to be bombed. - Priscilla
