Rating: Summary: THIS IS ACTUALLY JUST AS GOOD AS THE ''RAIN MAN'' Review: A COP [JACKIE CHAN] IS FORCED TO TAKE CARE OF HIS RETARDED BROTHER [SAMO HUNG]. BUT, HE MUST FIGHT TO PROTECT HIS BROTHER WHEN HE IS ACCUSED OF A ROBBERY. THIS MOVIE REALLY DID DESERVE RECOGNITION. TO MY SUPRISE, THIS A FLOP WHEN IT WAS FIRST RELEASED TO THEATRES IN HONG KONG! I WAS SUPRISED BY HOW EMOTIONAL THIS MOVIE WAS. THIS MOVIE TENDS TO FOCUS MORE ON ITS PLOT THAN ITS FIGHT SCENES, WHICH IS SOMETHING YOU DON'T REALLY SEE TOO OFTEN IN A JACKIE CHAN MOVIE. SAMO HUNG PLAYS JACKIE'S BROTHER TO PERFECTION. I'M TRULY AMAZED AT HOW WELL JACKIE CHAN AND SAMO HUNG HANDLED A MOVIE LIKE THIS. THIS TRULY IS ONE OF JACKIE'S BEST MOVIES. I GAURANTEE YOU THAT YOU WILL BE AMAZED WITH THIS MOVIE. BUY THIS NOW! AVAILABLE IN DUBBED AND SUBTITLED VERSIONS.
Rating: Summary: Too much missing from a great HK film Review: Although a great mix of action and drama, this movie made in the mid-80s, which has recently seen the light of day in the states, is missing too much. This movie is missing about 2 fight scenes that add nearly 10 minutes. Two fight scenes mean too much missing. Some of the action in the finale was deleted also. Where would a Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Hong Kong action film be without numerous fight scenes? Some of the music has been changed or taken out that enhanced the mood of the scenes. I am a great fan of Jackie Chan and Hong Kong cinema but I am tired of seeing fantastic action films cut of their action. This movie would have been 5 stars had it not had too much missing.
Rating: Summary: Far from his best. Review: Although this movie way enjoyed by many people, I cannot be one to share in that class. Jackie was made for action and will always be made for action. There acting was far from his best and the "emotional" scenes were more insulting to the audience then heartbreaking. If your a Jackie Chan fan, see it once. If not, don't look twice.
Rating: Summary: It ain't Of Mice and Men Review: Awful dubbing and terrible soundtrack are but two of the reasons you should skip this film. The tired cliche of a man who must sacrifice his own freedom to play caretaker for a gentle mentally deficient adult male is trotted out once again in this film that does not know what genre it wants to be. Sammo Hung plays the rotund brother of police officer Jackie Chan whose dreams of becoming a sailor are superceeded by his obligation to his brother. Althought the movie tries to generate pathos through Hung's character, many of the mishaps he falls into due to his deficiency are played for laughs, resulting in an uncomfortable mishmash of comedy and drama. In addition, there are several action scenes that are played "over-the-top" that seem ridiculously out of place in a movie that spends the first two-thirds at such an excruciatingly slow pace that you may be tempted to turn it off. There are numerous plot holes that leave the viewer scratching his head and the ending montage is laughable in its sentimentality. Plus, there is more than one shot of Hung's naked buttocks which will haunt my nightmares for years to come.

Rating: Summary: Hong Kong Rain Man Review: First, this is not your typical Jackie Chan movie. Although the action's there, it's sandwiched between the real focus of this movie--a touching tale of a man torn between responsibility towards his handicapped brother (portrayed memorably by Samo Hung), and the chance to realize his dream of becoming a sailor. If you're looking for action, you may want to look elsewhere . . . if you want to be suprised by Jackie's acting range, or if you're a completist, don't miss this one. It's certainly a quality film. And if you're into sappy foriegn films, you may be suprised just how good this one is. Samo and Jackie are brilliant together.
Rating: Summary: another side of jackie Review: Heart of the Dragon is not for people who are looking for action jackie chan movies this is a somewhat comedy and a somewhat soft movie and a side of chan
Rating: Summary: This is one of Chan's rare dramatic films that is surprising Review: I enjoyed this film since it had Chan and Sammo. Their chemistry in all of their movies is great. In this film Chan is a policeman that is burdened by having to take care of his mentally retarded brother(Sammo). Chan wishes to get out and see the world and almost resents having to take care of him. There is a fair amount of humor in this film that makes it more enjoyable. While Chan is out being a policeman Sammo gets into all kinds of situations with and without his friends. When Sammo is suddenly caught in a robbery and kidnapped Chan must rescue him at any cost, and it does cost him too. This is a film everyone should enjoy. If you like seeing a drama with Chan and Sammo this is for you. If you want to see classic Chan action you won't be dissapointed either. The 20 min. fighting finale makes up for the serious movie. The action scenes are right up there with Chan's inummerable greats. A rare treat this is. Try to find the dubbed version(if you speak English)it helps alot.
Rating: Summary: Jackie & Samo Review: I like this show because it shows how Jackie is a caring person. They are just like brothers. The part I didn't like where the people hitting Samo because he didn't have enough money & Jackie was put in jail.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Movie! Review: I LOVE this movie! It concentrates on Jackie and Sammo's acting abilities. Very refreshing to see if you are weary of the comic slapstick of his earlier movies. The english subtitles are far more indepth then the American verson... The Scene with the teacher tears me apart every time.. The fight with the brother does the same thing. I have been through all the fights and the verbal abuse too. I am disabled too. This film really opens your eyes to how people treat the disabled. I think that Jackie was aiming for more films like this. Shanghi Noon is another example of what he may have been trying to do. Heart of Dragon is my personal Favorite... I liked it better then Shanghai Noon.. Jackie and Sammo's best film to come out of Hong Kong.. Hope to see it on the big screen someday...
