Summary: This got an R-rating? What the Hell???!!!
Review: No Jackie Chan movie has ever deserved an R-rating, and RUMBLE IN THE BRONX is no exception. But something not good that it does deserve is a slap on the wrist for being filmed entirely in Vancouver (what New York golf course has mountains?) and the n trying to pass it off as the Bronx neighborhood of NYC.Still, that's not the point of RUMBLE. What it is about is action, comedy, and martial arts swirled into a neat concontion that goes great when seasoned with stunts, with just a sprinkle a story, an low in brains and running-time. On those terms, RUMBLE IN THE BRONX works. IT involes a dude named Keung (Jackie Chan), who is in New York for his uncles wedding. His Unlce's sold his grocery store to a new owner. Keung upsets a motorcycle gang when he beats up some os the members when they attempt to sholplift, and thus begins the plot, which then shifts to some mafia guys stealing some diamonds and Keung caught in the crossfire. RUMBLE has all the karate action you'd expect from Jackie Chan, and while it may be slim on story, it's still full of everything that his many fans demand. This was a great way to introduce him to the U.S.

Review: Highly amusing movie with incredible action choreography and fight sequences, some of the best seen so far in Chan's American films. I notice this film took a few thrashings for not being as, um, deep and meaningful and powerful as some of his "better" films like Crime Story and Drunken Master II. Now I've heard that Drunken Master II is incredible, so I won't touch that, but Crime Story blows. It's more serious, but in a very dull, heavy-handed, unenriching, badly done way. A flick like Rumble in the Bronx is silly as all hell, sure, but personally I don't turn to Jackie Chan for profound art. This movie is cheesy fun; the incredible action sequences make it worthwhile cheesy fun. I will concede with another review, though, in that the "big stunts" in Chan's American movies tend to be the least impressive parts. A hovercraft is fun to watch, but not as fun as Chan's nimble physical kinetics. Same with a helicopter (Supercop) and a big tractor-thing (Mr. Nice Guy.)

Review: The martial arts in this movie are awesome cause yuo know Jackie Chan does all his own stunts. There are very cool fight seens in this movie. I can't stop watching them cause there awesome. besides its only ten dollars.

Summary: One of Jackie Chan's best!
Review: This has to be one of Jackie Chan's best movies in the US and Asia. This has one of the best blends of action and plot (where others were too heavy on action) and shows the charm of Chan. While not exactly the most realistic or intricate plots in the world, it's quirky and funny and still has plenty of action and stunts to please anyone. The stunts and action are definitely some of the better ones because of the large budget. The fight scenes are typical of Jackie Chan, using many props and gags to add flavor missing to many U.S. action movies. The highlight of the movie is the main character. Unlike the typical action hero, Keung (Chan) is more a hapless victim of circumstances. His character is like a modern day mix of Buster Keaton, Harold Loyd, and Bruce Lee. Anyone who enjoyed Project A, Wheels on Meals, Armour of God, Operation Condor (Armour of God 2), First Strike, Supercop, or his newest gem Rush Hour will certainly like Rumble in the Bronx. Treat yourself and get it Widescreen!

Summary: Jackie Chan mixes it up with thugs!
Review: And teaches them a thing or two about being nice. I've been a Jackie Chan admirer since I first saw "The Cannonball Run" way back in 1981, but this was the first Chan movie I saw on the big screen. It's not moviemaking as fine art, it's moviemaking as fine fun.
An action comedy, "Rumble in the Bronx" features Jackie in the big city, New York (actually Vancouver, with mountains visible in the background in several scenes). It's a strangely clean and orderly version of the Big Apple, but no matter. Pretty soon, Our Man Chan fights a motorcycle gang, protects a store, helps a girl and her wheelchair-bound little brother, and pilots a hovercraft in a surprisingly uplifting ending.
Fresh and colorful, "Rumble" won't please the arthouse crowd, and probably doesn't even rank with Jackie's top flicks; I'll leave that for the hardcore Jackie fans to decide. But Jackie's joy in his work is contagious, and here, he's at his good-hearted best. Not only does he poke fun at himself in several scenes, but he also can't even stay mad at the kids who battered him senseless with bottles in an alley. Although the disk features a full-screen version, make sure you watch the widescreen DVD so you can enjoy all the delightful and creative fight choreography, including an amazing sequence where Jackie kicks butt with pinball machines. Also starring Bill Tung, who always seems to play "Uncle Bill" in Jackie's movies.

Review: Lets just say there is a ton of action in this movie.I believe this is the one that put him on the American map he does great fight wise in NYC.It is guarenteed to give you action.The acting has rubbed off a little but this has great scene

Review: I'm one of Jackie's biggest fan. In this one he really showed of some shnazzy moves. This DVD had a great story and it was DA BOMB. If you are a Jackie Chan fan them you MUST I repeat MUST have it!!! Jackie kicked some serious butt in this one so stop druling drooling and get it!!!

Review: Jackie Chan opens a can of woop *** on a group of gang members terrorizing the street. I'm sure the other dudes above have already told you about the movie, so i dont have to go into any detail. This movie opened American viewers into a whole new world, and its called Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan does unbelievable *death defying stunts* in every movie he appears in. Out of all his movies, I think this movie has to be the coolest (except the flaming gang members who kind of make it a riot). Jackie Chan has inspired me to become a Great Martial Artist, so you can just see the effect he has on people. I hope you get the movie, It's one you won't want to miss out on.

Review: Jackie Chan gets recognized by millions who havent seen him yet in his first english dubbed movie with him going to the bronx and waging a war on gangs and having great fights with them. though theres one scene involving violence to a little boy in a wheelchair that lets it slide but the kickbutt action in the gangs lair is great. fun and asskicking.
