Rating: Summary: Another Jackie Chan masterpiece Review: This movie was just great. I couldn't stop laughing. Chris Tucker was just hysterical and Jackie Chan was brilliant with his incredible stunts. I went out and bought this movie the day it was released. I just never really had the time to write a review until now. If you want to see a fantastic action comedy, I recommend you get Rush Hour. If you don't want to know the story of this film, I suggest you stop reading, NOW:). It all starts off with a crime fighter, Jackie Chan, in Hong Kong. There, he just finishes a big case where the "villain" is trying to steal PRECIOUS Chinese antiques. When his friend Consul Han goes to America, his daughter Soo Yung gets kidnapped for ransom. I'll stop right there, so that I won't ruin anything else. Even though this movie isn't a collector's edition and doesn't have two discs, the special features are still pretty good. It has a widescreen format, the theatrical trailer, informative and pretty interesting documentaries, making, and best of all, the deleted scenes. This was the Best Action Comedy in a LOOOOONG time!!!!!I definately recommend you get this movie. It was soooo good that there was a sequel to it.
Rating: Summary: spectacular Review: I cannot stand rap music, so to all you hip-hoppers out there, in the words of one of this movies digruntled cops, go screw yourself. That said, I'll add that Jackie Chan is a god -A GOD- and this movies high level of rap cannot destroy it when Mr. Chan is around. This is your standard buddy movie-Jackie being the hero, Chris Tucker the comic relief. Chris is a hip hopper, Jackie likes the beach boys, Chris is a cocky screwup, Jackie is the kung fu man, etc., etc. their matched up on a kidnapping case that leads to some cool kung fu fighting, and clever jokes, mostly curtosy of Chris ("do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?!") One of the best action-comedies to date, Jackie and Chris are likely to be buddy movie buddies for a long time to come.
Rating: Summary: FUNNY Review: AN LAPD COP [CHRIS TUCKER] AND A COP FROM HONG KONG [JACKIE CHAN] TRY TO INVESTIGATE THE KIDNAPPING OF THE CONSUL'S DAUGHTER. VERY FUNNY AND VERY ACTION-PACKED. CHRIS TUCKER AGAIN STEALS THE SHOW IN EVERY SCENE HE'S IN. THE SCENE WHERE CHRIS TUCKER PICKS JACKIE CHAN UP FROM THE AIRPORT IS A MUST-SEE. I HAVEN'T SEEN A COMEDY/ACTIONER THAT WAS THIS GOOD SINCE ''BEVERLY HILLS COP''. RIGHT NEXT TO ''FRIDAY'', THIS IS THE FUNNIEST MOVIE OF CHRIS TUCKER'S CAREER. FOLLOWED BY A SEQUEL.
Rating: Summary: Jackie Chan Speaks Out Review: Although this not Jackie Chan's first movie in a police/martial arts role, it is the first in which he has actually spoken english. In his previous movies, Rumble in the Bronx (Canadian set) and First Strike (Australian set) he was dubbed by an english voice. In my opinion, what give Jackie his "edge" is that he does all his highly skilled stunts by himself, absolutely no stunt doubles. Now, he enters the US market with its biggest mouth, Chris Tucker. The Pairing reminds me alot of Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolate in "48 Hrs", and its sequal "Another 48 Hours", but certianly a great deal more politicaly correct. Personaly, I would give this movie a 5 star because of the high-class acting and wonderful mixture of both humor and action whilst keeping them apart when required.
Rating: Summary: Currently the best Action Comedy worldwide Review: Bone crunching, gut busting action thrilling high speed chase fun, with the greatest on screen duo since Leathal Weapon, a great movie, funny scenes, outakes, audio commentary, behind the scenes and special features, this action packed DVD has it all and will keep you laughing everytime you see it. 10/10.
Rating: Summary: "Rush Hour" is the best action-comedy film around!! Review: "Rush Hour" is, without a doubt, the most funniest, most surprising action comedies ever made! I think that this was a major challenge for stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. And more importantly, I think that "Rush Hour" was Chris Tucker's breakthrough film since he first appeared in "Friday". "Rush Hour" calls the attention to Jackie Chan as Inspector Lee, a detective from Hong Kong who travels to L.A. after he finds out that the daughter of a Chinese diplomat has been kidnapped and being held for ransom. But, the FBI has dispatched a local L.A. detective, James Carter (Tucker) to keep Chan's character out of the way of things. And, of course, Tucker's character has the absolute biggest mouth in L.A. I mean, Tucker is sort of a rebel in this film, no one can calm him down! Lee and Carter can't stand each other. Much less, even like each other. But they are assigned by the FBI to go out and find the missing girl and save her life...if both Lee and Carter doesn't kill each other first! "Rush Hour" has everything that you'd expect from a Jackie Chan film...unbelievable stunt work, action, you name it! And it has everything that you'd expect from a Chris Tucker film...laughs, laughs, and more laughs! This is the greatest buddy-buddy cop film ever made since the "Lethal Weapon" series. It's like Chris Tucker is the Mel Gibson of this film (loose cannon cop, uncontrollable) and Jackie Chan is the Danny Glover of this film (by-the-book cop), but with a few surprises. Check "Rush Hour" out...I know I have!
Rating: Summary: Tuckers finest hour, Jackie can do so much more. Review: The buddy movie has been done a hundred times and although Lethal Weapon still holds the crown its time has passed. As Chris Tucker says, he and Jackie are the team of the nineties. The chemistry between Tucker and Chan is great. Tucker excels as 'the new Eddie Murphy' and Chan, well Jackie Chan is just one of a kind. Although it is no match for his Honk Kong movies (Police Story 1&2, Project A, Drunken Master 2, Wheels on Meals etc.) Rush Hour is the best Hollywood flick JC has made. And it is a breath of fresh air following the appalling Rumble In The Bronx. If only Hollywood would realise how much talent he has and let him make a proper Jackie Chan movie with their money. I can't wait for the sequel. Also watch out for the behind the scenes footage of Jackie choreographing a fight scene, it's better than the film itself.
Rating: Summary: Great Entertainment - Funny & Exciting. Review: Rush Hour revitalized the buddy action flicks of the 80's and has become a modern classic. It is a movie in the tradition of 48 Hrs and Lethal Weapon, and like those two movies, it has perfect casting. Chris Tucker is hysterical in his best performance since Friday, Jackie Chan is in top form, complete with incredible stunts, cool martial arts and hilarious broken English. The story is well-written and full of funny situations for both Tucker and Chan. Look for the scenes where Chan is in a predominantly black pool hall and Tucker buys some Chinese food from a cart. The chemistry between the two leads is probably what makes this movie so great. Great individually, but even better together. All this makes Rush Hour a guaranteed good time.
Rating: Summary: Funny, Funny, Funny Review: This movie is too funny!!! Chris Tucker(who is so sexy) steals the show. Chris and Jackie Chan are such a great duo they will have you crying from the great on screen chemistry they share. Not only is there laughter, but there is also alot of action. The action in this movie is good. A great movie to have in your possession.
Rating: Summary: Classic Movie! Review: This movie was classic and just flawless, look for Rush Hour to be a long series of movies, it will become the new Lethal Weapon. Tucker and Chan are perfect.
