Rating: Summary: I Don't Like Violence...But This Was Smashing! Review: I liked the hip hop talking of Chris. Jackie is cute and I like his idea of not showing so much blood and gore. The action was fast-paced and funny. Of course, much of it was unbelievable, but, what the heck! It was just a movie. No OSCAR winners, but fun.
Rating: Summary: Undeniably good! Review: I am a big fan of the original "Rush Hour" and I didn't expect the second one to be as good as the first one. I think the first one is still better, but the second one has more personality to it. For example, instead of just focusing on Chan and Tucker the movie focuses on them and two absolutely STUNNING women!!! Roseyln Sanchez and Zhang Ziyi from Crouching Tiger. The action was toned down, but there were still plenty of memorable moments. Perhaps the reason some critics gave it bad reviews are because either they are too uptight and stuck up or they just don't get this type of humor. Which isn't a knock on them because everyone is intitled to favorite brand of humor. To me and most everyone else I see... Love this movie! There are several laughs to be had and the bloopers at the end of the movie puts the icing on the cake! I definitely will go see it again and get the DVD, which should be out in time for Christmas.
Rating: Summary: Will Rush Hour 3 be even better? How? Review: Wow!!! I thought Rush Hour was great but Rush Hour 2 blows it away. This is Jackie at his best. It's just one amazing stunt after another. It proves that Jackie has not only the physical talent to do this but has a keen sense of how to put it together to make it seemless. Chris Tucker makes an excellent buddy for Jackie's minimal dialogue (Chris never stops talking). See it!!! How will he top this with Rush Hour 3 ?
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: I liked Rush Hour 2 better than the first one. In the second the script was funnier, the stunts were crazier, and the producers remembered that good-looking women sell movies, so there is an abundance of those, including Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have a great chemistry on the screen. Jackie Chan does some amazing martial art stuff, using for that purpose pretty much any conceivable item, while Tucker spits out outrageous lines and insults a mile a minute. The movie is really funny, really entertaining, and after this summer of one lousy movie after another - it's definitely a sight for a sore eye. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Funny, but obnoxious. Review: There were many take offs from Rush Hour in this sequel, as we all knew there would be from the commercials. As an owner of the first Rush Hour dvd, I'm rather irritated that most of the jokes in Rush Hour 2 seem to come at the expense of women. Breasts seem to be the highlight of the film...seemingly Mr. Ratner was now fresh out of ideas and had to go to stock. Misogyny abounds in this film, even comparisons of women to buffets. Even Jackie Chan has now taken part in such ludicrous objectification. I'm highly disappointed with the quality of entertainment. Zhang Ziyi and the Chinese Vegas partner were the only pure joys in the film. Of course, Zhang Ziyi's fighting scenes didn't do her justice one bit. Tucker and Chan seem to have outworn their charm.
Rating: Summary: laugh out loud comedy Review: the slapstick duo (jackie chan and chris tucker) are back with ruch hour 2. this movie is sooooo funny! even better than the first. an awesome mix of comedy and action. a must see summer movie! jackie and cris make the perfect comedy/action team! what are you waiting for? get your tickets now!
Rating: Summary: From a Scale 1 - 10, I give it a 11! Review: This movie was so good that I watched it TWO TIME!! TWO TIME!!! Twice on the release date. This one was as good as the first one, if not better. It was really full of comedy and tons of action. If you're a Jackie Chan fan, you'll love this. If you're not, you'll become one after this movie. Lataz!
Rating: Summary: Better than the first? Review: Of course it's better than the first. Though it falls very short of the best movie of the summer, it was a very funny movie. Jackie Chan as usual was great, and is it just me, or is his English getting better? Chris Tucker's high strung comedy made you laugh, as well as his "martial arts" abilities. It starts out with a bombing at the US embassy. After that, we start to see how Chan and Tucker have made out, and it seems they are on vacation. Well Chan gets a call from work, and that's when all the fun and action begins. We see some new faces, and also some very mean new faces. Good casting all around, and the plot was better than the first one. This movie is fun for the whole family in most parts. Go out and pay the 5 or so dollars to see this movie. Mark_Sigel
Rating: Summary: this movie is better than candy and milk and cookies Review: this movie is so good I can taste it it's so much fun because jackie chan is the man and chris tucker is extra funny so if you haven't seen it you better get your behine up and go buy them tickets and don't listen to people like ebert and his big musty looking friend roeper rush hour 2 is off the hook.
Rating: Summary: here's a surprise...a good sequel! Review: "Here I'm Michael Jackson, you're Toto" Walking into the theaters i was thinking 'how can they make a sequel to a film that was one of genious creativity' i mean when you have someone like Jackie Chan and someone like Christ Tucker, about as different as different gets, then you really have something special. now to the review. i really enjoyed the first 'rush hour' film, i thought it was cool to see the Jackie Chan action with the Chris Tucker humor, it was just something that clicked. so when i walked into the theaters to see this movie i was expecting something that was just put together in a few months to make sure people wouldn't forget about the 'Rush Hour' franchise. Boy, was i wrong. taking nearly 3 years to come out (with Chris Tucker personally saying he would like to wait awhile before a sequel) you would soon realize you were in for a treat. this movie takes off right where the first one ends, with inspector lee (jackie chan) and LAPD dective carter (Tucker) going to China for a vacation. well a bomb goes off at the US embassy there and of course its out heroes to the rescue. With chris tucker trying yo learn some chinese language 'i want some mushu' (if you dont know what that word means in chinese, look it up, you'll laugh for awhile) you have some plot twists from the first film, for example the introduction of inspector lee's father's police partner, ricky tan. you see ricky tan murdered inspector lee's father and is lee is out to get revenge, and a whole lot happens. from hanging from bamboo, to a fake death of detective carter to the detective carter being in vegas winning a lot of money, every plot twist and turn was there. i thought that this film surpassed the first film in enjoyment except for one thing. jackie chan's action performance. you see jackie is pushing 50 years old so naturally he is slowing down (but he still has some good action scenes, such as squeezing under a ticket booth that's caged off) but with him aging a little you can't help but notice his slowing down, so naturally a lot of his action sequences were turned over to Chris Tucker. there were a few highlight scenes (for example the gay character in Las Vegas, or the shootout scene (also in Vegas). this will be a film to have in your collection when it comes out. and by the way, stay for the credits, as in all Jackie Chan films there is a blooper reel with a great one of Chris Tucker's cell phone going off in the middle of the filming, and there is another prolonged one with that gay man, its well worth it. and now to finish up with another blooper from the film. with a man just being thrown off a building and landing on a car Chris Tucker says: "DAMN! he's not gonna be in Rush Hour 3!" go get the popcorn and enjoy the flick.
