Review: I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS MOVIE 100,000,000 STARS BUT UNFORTUNETLY I COULD ONLY GIVE IT 5. THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE! JOHN TRAVOLTA AND NICHOLAS CAGE ARE NO DOUBT, SPECTACULAR. THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN, AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO IN THE NEAR FUTURE, AND ALWAYS.

Summary: The Stuff Masterpieces are Made/Off
Review: What does it take to make a masterpiece? Talented, charismatic actors; great aesthetic sense, in form of color, camera angles, and editing; a twisted, intricate plot; and great directing. Face/Off did succeed in all these prerequisistes with a style that is filled with passion. Passionate characters, whose actions, which could seem absurd in everyday life, are perfectly reasonable inside the tangled web of sky-rocketing events that happen around them. All in all, a movie made with passion. In the hands of other filmmakers, it could be called corny; in John Woo's hands, it becomes a tragedy-like drama.

Review: An uncomfortable marriage of Woo's brand of violent melodrama and Hollywood assembly blockbuster, FACE/OFF is so out-there, loony, exciting, flimsy, bathetic, and occasionally profound that it would either leave you breathless or bemused. The opening action blast-off and the final mind-boggling boat chase sequence are pure Woo; maniacally choreographed, they are somekind of religious celebration of montage, slow-motion, and other barrages of techniques delivered with frightening dexterity. Cage is great in his dual roles, perfect for Woo's operatic excesses, but Travolta is a lightweight chipmunk. The film is shamelessly ludicrous, scientifically and psychologically. You either draw a series of "Getouttahere" blanks or get into it (I am somewhere in-between). The anamorphically enhanced DVD looks superb, almost too perfect. The soundtrack will give your system a good workout. Watch out for the bullet ricochets. The lousy cheapskates at Paramount only give you a trailer. But I'll bite.

Review: Okay, yes it was kinda fun watching Nicolas go to town as the bad guy. But I'm kinda old fashioned, I like to be able to be listen to the dialoge without cringing, and the in your face forshadowing was a little annoying, no, it was alot annoying! But If you liked "Con Air" I guess you will love "face off"

Review: I was one of the lucky ones, and spent seven precious dollars one of the best action flicks ever made. Face Off is a brilliant movie in which Dirctor John Woo deserves a pat on the pack. Nicholas Cage, and John Travolta are amazing as well. This entire movie is a "MUST SEE!"
