Summary: Alright! - the Return of the Slasher Film!
Review: Even though I was excited at the prospect of Freddy vs Jason, after years of rumors and false starts, I was trying not to expect too much. Most of the recent "shocking" horror releses, except perhaps Wrong Turn, have been disappointing, watered-down, faux-horror made by people more interested in demographics and "market-share" than making a good film. Jason X was funny, but a poor substitue, the Halloween series has definitely fallen in a deep dark hole, and don't even talk to me about Jeepers Creepers.
And wonder of wonders - I was NOT disappointed! In fact I was very impressed. The storyline was inventive (considering what they had to work with) and the acting was above average for a slasher flick. It's not going to win any oscars but Freddy vs Jason marks the return of the slasher! Two horror icons dueling it out over the chance to massacre a bunch of teens. Both villans in their element, if at different stages - and Jason surprisingly adaptable away from Crystal Lake. I just wish Jason could have been played the indomitable by Kane Hodder to add a bit more personality to the character. Freddy was his usual vicious self - but not as silly as in some of his sequels. If you're a fan of Jason or Freddy you should be satisfied with this film. All I can say is "Where's the next one!" (hopefully Freddy vs Jason vs Ash - Bruce Campbell rocks!).

Summary: Faithful to both franchises, nothing to complain about.
Review: This movie was handled with care by everybody involved, no doubt about that. It was totally faithful to the spirit of both series, and that means that, if a person is fan of franchises, it will surely like it; if it is not, no matter the budget or plot qulity it will would never like it.

No doubt the main character could have been played by a better actor than Jason Ritter, and the pop female singer from Destiny Child is also annoying. Bu the plot is not so full of holes as a lot of people mentioned. The so called "holes" are in accord to the tradition of the series, who never aimed to be respectable, but only to get some bucks out of cheap productions.

For example, like in the Elm Street series, people fall asleep anytime, anywhere, anyplace. It's really fun...! The biggest hole, however, (spoil here), is about the two guys that scape from the asylum. They are being hunted, and one of them calmly "hides" in his own house, lends his brother's car to his friend and keeps in home researching about Freddy, all very natural for someone who is being hunted...!

Sean Cunningham is the producer, and he was also the director of the first Friday 13th. Altough it sometimes failed, it's clear that the people involved tried honestly to explain to the audience what is happening and how.

This time, there's no dubious ending. It gets clear, once and for all, that Jason can not die. Future writers will not have to lose any time trying to figure out explanations to Jason's dozens of ressurections...

The batle scenes were well coreographed and developed, first class action scenes. The final result was also well thought. Also, there's not so much gore as many reviewers talked about, compared to other films from the Jason franchise, and a lot of the killings don't show the actual fatal strike coming from Jason. The most violent scenes were in the battles between Freddy and Jason, and this makes sense, because both of them are totally and utterly evil and very strong.

This is a B movie, almost a C movie, and it's one of the best of its kind. This cross over was very well produced, it was not a dissapointment at all. It has all the qualities and flaws of previous films of the series, but with better production (more budget), better direction and a marginally better screenplay.

Summary: Finally the Fight you've been waiting for on DVD
Review: I had to see this movie twice in the theater, definitely not a disappointment. Since everyone else seems to have already touched on the story, I will talk a little bit about what I know about the DVD. First I do know that the alternate ending is supposed to be on there. If you don't know, just wait, it's a wonderful surprise. Also, there will be commentary from Ronny Yu, Ken Kirzinger and Robert Englund which I think will be a beautiful compliment to the film. Supposedly there was another opening for the movie and that too will be included on the DVD. Overall there should be 20 deleted or alternate scenes which will be great! I'm hoping for some more of the scene between Kia and Freddy, I've seen pieces on TV that included different dialog. Also, another great feature of this DVD will be the jump to death option. You can jump to your favorite deaths or you can tell it to choose a random death. How much more fun can you have? There should be plenty of storyboards, photo galleries and a lot of behind the scenes stuff on the film, including TV Spots(such as E! and MTV) and you can't forget all the fun trailers. As an added bonus to those who love the "FvJ" soundtrack(like I do), Ill Nino's video for How Can I Live will be included and that is only the beginng of the extras available on this DVD. I think it will definitely be worth that wait, I've already laid the money aside to get it as soon as it comes out. I think this will make all the people that downloaded the poor quality bootlegs feel dumb because this is an amazing amount of stuff and overall a wonderful buy I think. I definitely feel that I won't be disappointed. Keep the faith, dEx

Summary: Can Freddy kill the Creeper
Review: Can Freddy kill the Creeper?

Rating: R
Year: 2003
Producer: New Line
Running time: 98 min

Did you know that it takes the devilish actor of Freddy Krueger six hours to fully put his makeup mask on which also includes his other body parts?
More at www. Movies.com
Unlike Freddy the actor of Jason takes at least two hours to put his stuff on. He also has a main roll in the movie Freddy vs. Jason that is a good movie to compare to Jeepers creepers 2, which I did. The graphics on Freddy vs. Jason are very leaned upon Freddy and Jason knowing this and how long it takes them to get ready should blow your mind on how sweet the graphics are.
Compared to Freddy vs. Jason jeeper's creepers 2 had some pretty pathetic graphics. For example the creepers face and body was so pathetic that
Some of my brother's friends fell asleep because there was nothing interesting to keep them awake. During the movie my little 8-YEAR-OLD brother also fell asleep for the same reason and when he woke up 10 minutes later his friends and him left to go to the arcade because the movie was so boring.

The sound of the creeper was even stupid it sounded like a balloon popping .The graphics on jeepers creepers 2 were as you can see completely boring.

Freddy vs. Jason is an all out hanging movie. The director did this so you would want to watch it again and again until you get sick of watching it.
This movie has the most hanging ending of any Freddy or Jason movie ever made. It leaves you after Freddy and Jason have fought to a draw, but fallen into Crystal Lake and days later Jason comes out of Crystal Lake with only Freddy's head and Freddy gives you a wink.

Know that you know why Freddy has to put the make up on to keep you interested in the graphics. In my opinion Freddy vs. Jason beats jeepers creepers 2 graphics and plot. Unless you want to see the jeeper's creepers 2 and take a snoozer, then spend your money wisely on something that it is worth it which in I hope you choose Freddy vs. Jason.

Summary: Blood, drugs, nudity, language, and more blood.
Review: Okay, heres what I thought of the movie: The best film I've seen so far this year! Freddy was cruisin, Jason was bruisin. They were doing the right thing by introducing some new stuff like the new and improved "Martial Arts Freddy". It's true that we never saw Freddy do all that stuff in the original "Nightmare on elm street" movies. But let's put it this way, if you think you know the old Freddy movies like you think you do, then you'll realise that Freddy wasn't even putting any effort into his killings. He was just toying with those teenagers. He just laughed with satisfaction and slashed without hesitation. However, he wasn't laughing when he realised that Jason doesn't die as easily as his other victims did. The movie had plenty of blood(probably more than we would've asked for), a couple scenes of nudity that every slasher flick must have, and something we here every day: language. Freddy really introduced a new hobby of his in the movie: He called almost everybody a *itch, which was pretty funny, yet annoying. Okay, let's talk about Jason: Jason was very strong, and sometimes unparticular with his killings. He also got pretty pissed off when he found out what Freddy had done. Now let's get something straight: anyone who is a Jason fan would know that Jason is not afraid of water! In the old "Friday the 13th" movies, Jason would sometimes hide in the water and wait for some stupid teenager to carelessely walk in the exact place where Jason is hiding and idiotically put his/her
self in danger. I'm not saying that was a bad idea because it did put some of the storyline in place I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one who noticed. Anyway, Jason didn't
throw as many hits as Freddy did but when he did, it really knocked Freddy senseless. The only problem I had with this film
was the fact that you had to sit through an hour of recognizing the plot, than in the last fourty-eight minutes, it was just pure claw to mask cat-fighting. I almost gave this movie four stars until I realised that I got my money's worth.

Summary: Winner kills all....
Review: The gloves are off the machete and razor glove are on...those twin titans of terror are back and ready to beat the crap out of each other in Freddy Vs. Jason. I hear that its a 2 disc set complete with a shiny foil cover, the flick gets 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen and full screen transfers, a Dolby Digital EX track (note no DTS option will be included), an audio commentary with director Ronny Yu and slashers Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger(!!), 18 deleted and alternate scenes including alternate endings (quite possibly one where Freddy wins?? that would be awesome!)and opening (one without the cheesy Freddy dialog??), multiple featurettes, a visual effects exploration, storyboards, still galleries, Ill Nino "How Can I Live?" music video, trailers and TV spots, and ROM exclusives including an enhanced playback mode, a script viewer and the "Cutting Room Floor" editing activity i think it will be like that Men In Black version from a couple years ago where you make your owns scenes which is very cool.
While a sequel is almost certain. I defintely recommed purchasing this great popcorn flick and watching it before New Line beats this newfound franchise to death. no pun intended.I personally am looking forward to the commentary myself, i can imagine jason actor Ken Kirzinger being the first to admit he had big shoes to fill replacing longtime jason actor (15 years and 4 four films-the only to play him more than once)and cult figure Kane Hodder. some would simply say all you have to do to play jason is put a hockey mask on and be intimidating well that's just part of it. what many don't know is that Kane was responsible for many of Jason's killing scenes and would actually tell the director or writer "no, jason wouldn't do that". There was maybe the folding the bed in half and spinning the boys head around that i liked but it was mostly hack/slash for Kirzinger. But i've heard so many differenty stories as to why he was replaced:
1)he wanted the same pay as freddy actor robert englund and producers said no which i don't believe i read in a fangoria interview Kane said anyone who knows him knows that to him playing jason was never about the money.
2) ken kirzinger is canadian and they filmed in canada so it was cheaper.
3) director ronny yu wanted an actor with "sympathetic eyes".
4) Yu wanted an actor in proportiate to englund (i.e. not so hulking) which i don't believe because Kane is reportedly 6'3" or 6'4" and about 250 lbs. while Kirzinger is around 6'5" or 6'6" obviosly he's nowwhere near the 250 lbs. of muscle that is Kane Hodder.
5)Kane has been known to be too difficult to work with because has his own agenda for jason. I'm not sure about this. I read this one on a IMDB message board so its not from a credible source by no means.
6)They wanted an actor who would do more moves. This one bugs me the most because there wasn't anything that i noticed that kane couldn't have done himself.
there are countless other that i've heard also. but from the look of the flick in theatres Kirzinger obviously watched film of Kane Hodders Jason and others. Plus, I've heard since he and Kane are both professional stuntmen they're quite close friends (a little bit of trivia for you: Kirzinger actually appeared briefly in Jason takes manhattan as a cook that Jason/Kane throws to the ground) so I'm guessing Kane gave him some of his pointers. here's to Kane finally getting back the role in the sequel!
**UPDATE** I read in another review that someone was asking about Jason being afraid of water. I personally think that it was only during his dreams that he was afraid of water. Which makes some sense to me since we've never (until this point) seen Jason dream and see what makes him tick(his mother). Basically we've never really seen "acting" out of the Jason character. Thanks, Freddy! After all, didn't he swim all the way to Manhatten in part 8? plus he wasn't kicking around and curled up in the fetal position at the end of the movie when he sank to bottom of the lake (or when he came popping out for that matter)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Looking Forward to this DVD!!!
