Rating: Summary: Generated to Excellence Review: A truly excellent moment in anime history. Generator Gawl is most possible one of the best dubbed animes I have ever seen, not to mention that the voice actors cast for each role are absolutely perfect. This DVD is packed with action, humor, and even some romance and drama; it's got everything you could ever want! The only thing I could complain about would be the lack of extra features, although the schematics of each generator shown in this particular DVD is pretty cool, since they're worth taking a second look at. All and all, this anime has become my favorite, and if you buy this DVD, you'll see why - it's addicting!
Rating: Summary: Good introduction to an anime and a great dub! Review: After years and years of crappy dubbed releases, ADVision FINALLY gets it right and makes a great dub! I was expecting horrific Nadesico/Evangelion voice "talents" (The term used very lightly.) Instead, ADV delivers one amazing dub. The voices, acting, and overall quality of the dub just doesn't get any better than this.As for the actual anime. Well, the premise isn't exactly original. It's been done in DNA^2, for one, among other shows. Three guys go back in time to stop a disaster from occuring. Despite the lack of originality, Generator Gawl is still very amusing. While nothing extraordinary, the animation is quite good. Gawl also sports some interesting music, with catchy opening and ending theme songs. The opening theme, "I Want Out", showing off some of the more serious aspects of the show, and the ending theme "Koi to iemashou ka?" showing the comedic moments in a very Kodomo no Omocha ending-ish drawing style. Another plus of Gawl is how ADV put 3 episodes on a single tape, instead of the usual 2. The first tape is also quite cheap compared to most of ADV's releases. Hopefully the prices and number of episode will remain the same in future volumes. Generator Gawl is one to own. I can't wait for the next volumes to come out, and to find out what happens to Gawl and friends.

Rating: Summary: Like Gundam Wing? Like Sci-fi? Then you'll love this... Review: Alright, an online friend suggested this to me, and let me tell you, I fell in love with it the second I started watching it. Then again, me being a total push over, so.... yeah. The reason I compare it to Gundam Wing is because of the action elements... it has mecha, but the mecha are restricted to human-skinned Generators (the anime will explain)... and it has three Bishies (anime okatus know what I mean) in it that are fighting to save the universe from its destruction in the future... Yes... want to know more? Alright then. Koji, Ryo, and Gawl traveled back from time to 2007 to stop the discovery of a creation that will instigate WW III and thus pretty much destroy the world. Koji and Ryo are young scientists, and Gawl is their creation, so to speak. They need a place to live, and they find an apartment with Masami and her mother... the conflict is that Masami and Gawl don't seem to like eachother... they have their interludes which are quite funny. I dont really want to give anymore away, because it is such a great anime and you need to be surprised! The animation is pretty good--not breath-taking, but very admirable. I certainly enjoyed it. The English voice actors are very good... so its not painful to watch in dubbed as in many other anime... the soundtrack is really good and you can't help but like the theme song... its addicting! All in all, this anime will keep you guessing to the very end. I highly suggest it to any hard-core anime fan!

Rating: Summary: .... WOW! Review: First off im not too big on anime's so any films that I do like have to be pretty spectacular, and folks this film is great! Not only do you get a good story line, great charactors, great animation and voice overs, but the story line is totaly understandable. Anyone can understand the story line, and it makes the film seem like its going somewhere. Believe me if you see this one, watch out your going to be wanting to buy tape after tape of this series!
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly Good Review: For the record, I watched this series in Japanese with subtitles and avoided reading the promo ADV Films wrote about it; that said, I liked it a lot. Your mileage may vary. I wouldn't chalk this up as "anime of all time", but it is surprisingly good. I liken it to Sailor Moon meets Evangelion...at least in this first disk. It jumps between the silly -- Gawl and his interaction with Masami -- and the serious -- the three guys trying to, y'know, save the world. The guys are drawn cute, and Gawl is an unlikely but likeable hero. The battle scenes and transformation sequences are nifty. The tug-of-war between Gawl and Masumi reminds me of Akane and Ranma. While there is very little new ground covered by this anime story-wise, the first disk was solid action with a compelling (albeit slightly confusing) storyline.

Rating: Summary: Awsome Anime Review: Genorator Gawl is a story of 3 teenagers who jump back in time to Sept. 2007 and try and save the world from "dark generators"(those are the bad guys), only problem is they were supposed to jump a year earlier. The 3 characters are: Gawl (he's the main character and has the power of generating), Koji(he's kinda the leader of the of the operation), and Ryo(he's kinda the smart guy and his name's pronounced Ro). Also there's a girl called Masami and another called Natsumi(they're friends of Gawl, Koji, and Ro). I think that generator gawl is an awsome anime saga and that it is hilarious! There's this 1 part in the 2nd episode were Gawl is trying to catch a butterfly in his hands and he keeps missing it and gets really frustrated, it's hilarious! Also there's this strange scientist called "Tekuma Nekasa" who I think cracks the gene code for generating. All anime lovers I urge you to watch it. It has fantastic graphics and battle scenes in all 3 of the 1st 3 episodes (not volumes I've only seen vol. 1). On a scale of 1 to 10, i'd give a 1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!! ADV Films really picked a good saga to translate and sell. Props to the opening theme!
