Summary: and the legacy goes on..........You rule Terry McGinnis!
Review: Just when I thought the Batman animated series were starting to lag, Paul Dini and Bruce Timm are out at it again! Being a fan of the Batman series for almost eight years, this series brings back the same rushing, breathtaking, and excitement feeling back to you just like the one you felt when you started watching Batman in 1992. Only this time Batman Beyond is more darker with more action drama. Will Friedle is perfect as the voice of Terry McGinnis and Batman! The new era of villains are quite more better and exctiting, the animation totally rocks, and what's even better is that Barbara Gordon can still kick some butt! Kevin Conroy.....you rule baby!

Summary: Batman Beyond Pulls Off The Impossible
Review: Let's face it - we NEVER ponder what superheroes become when they get old. But Warner Brothers delves into this angle of Batman's life and produces a stunning story.

The tape consists of the two-part pilot episode of the series. It is the year 2039. Batman, now wearing a superpowered suit that increases his strength multifold, saves wealthy type Veronica Vreeland from kidnappers. But in his advancing age, he must do what he swore he'd never do - use a gun to defend himself. He thus realizes he must end his days as the Caped Crusader, and the supersuit is placed in a transparant case - a chillingly touching scene.

Bruce Wayne's company has been bought out by Derek Powers, a ruthless corporate shark who has a burly henchman with a scar under one eye named Mr. Fixx (voiced by Star Trek's George Takei). They're making an extremely virulent nerve gas and trying to sell it, but one of their engineers, Warren McGuiness, steals a disc with the formula and gives it to his son, Terry. Warren McGuiness is later killed, the crime appearing to be the work of a motorcycle gang enamored of the late clown prince of crime - hence their name The Jokerz. Terry is attacked by Jokerz and in the ensuing chase stumbles onto the identity of elderly hermit Bruce Wayne. Stealing the supersuit Wayne retired years earlier, Terry learns the terrifying truth about Powers' nerve gas and the role played in his father's death - and in the process reignites Bruce Wayne's will to live, and fight crime.

Though the ultra-synthesized score is something of an annoyance, the overall quality of the show is superior, from the animation to the ever-reliable voice performances. A new and genuinely innovative chapter in the Batman mythos thus takes off.

Summary: Adventure Is a Time, Not a Place
Review: My friend from England once said: Adventure is a TIME not a place. And this aftermath of the phenomenal Batman series of the early 90s is proof. If you're not a fan of the early 90s Batman series, you may like this. But if like me you were a fan of the early 90s Batman series, chances are you are going to be REALLY disappointed by this. I will not simply say: "Bruce Wayne is Batman." But here are the problems. Any original Batman fan knows that while Bruce Wayne was ALIVE, he NEVER would have hung up his Batcape while crime was out there. Second, what made the early 90s episodes were the villains like the Joker, the Penguin, the Madhatter, the Scarecrow, and the Riddler. The people who imitate the Joker are quite close to laughable. I am not saying we can not reuse old ideas, and that we can't expand a little on the past. But throwing name on a wonderful old series proves the saying: "Adventure Is A Time. Not a place." With the exception of the one good scene where the real Batman saves Terry from a bunch of Joker wannabees, (the only good scene in the moive) Batman is really not given any justice....But what kind of reviewer praises everything he reviews?

Summary: The legend recreated
Review: Oh if only the live action films of Batman had the strength of character and storyline that the animated releases aspire to.Batman Beyond is the masterpiece that they should have been. This DVD has over 2 hours of fast action including the pilot movie that gives us a look into the bleak future of Bruce Wayne for whom you cannot fail to feel pity, and a new character, Terry McGinnis,a young man that revives the fading light of Waynes dark and lonely life. If you liked Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, then get this, it won't dissapoint. PS Warner Bros. Keep them coming on DVD. Thanks

Summary: Batman goes high-tech...
Review: Terry McGinnis stumbles upon Bruce Wayne's secret, that he was once Batman! McGinnis needs Batman's help, but when Mr. Wayne refuses, Terry has to BECOME Batman himself. Armed with a advanced flying, super-strong, loaded to the gills with weapons, suit and with the help of Mr. Wayne's knowledge, Terry McGinnis brings to Gotham City what it needs most : The Dark Knight!
I had to take a star away because I don't feel the future Gotham City or the new Batman are as dark or as impressive as Batman:The Animated Series. Bruce Wayne used smarts as much as devices to get out of the traps set up by them, and the fact he wasn't just a copy of Superman made him even more interesting. Also, the old fashion evildoers were just better designed. I mean, THE Joker was ten times better than a room full of Jokers! And he had better lines.
Still, the DVD has the first movie and four bonus episodes, so it is good value for your money. The artwork and plots also improved as the series developed, so I will be picking up more DVDs of the new Batman.

Review: This is a great movie and an amazing start to the series. It has action and cool music! I think that Blight is really neat too. And the 4 bonus episodes really gives another good reason to buy this! DEAD MAN'S HAND is an episode in this DVD and is a great love story about a girl named Melanie Walker, who's family is a gang of high class robbers, falls in love with Terry. But Melenie has a secret. She is a villain named Ten who rides around on a hover card and is an expert in electronics! So this is a great deal of trouble for these two love bugs! All in all this is a great episode
