Summary: Why Didn't They Get Brosnan Sooner??
Review: Bond has been away from the big screen for 6 years before this movie, and now he's back, and he's great! This movie is more like 4-and-a-half stars...I didn't want to give it 5 stars, because it's not as good as "Goldfinger," but I don't think anything ever will be, so this is a close, VERY close second. Pierce Brosnan is great as 007, I can't figure out why they didn't get him sooner, they could've gotten him, instead they got Dalton, who in my opinion, didn't make a good James Bond at all. This movie has a great opening sequence, which serves as a primer for the great action to come. Sean Bean is great as 006, Onatopp's character is good, as well as Natalya Simonova's. This movie has a great plot as well, I don't want to give it away, because there are a lot of surprises. So, in conclusion, this is a great movie, and a renaissance for the james Bond series,... BUY THIS MOVIE!!

Summary: 006 and 007 Together!
Review: This is a film about two men, 006 and 007 who grew up as children and were recruited to work for their country. Its the story of James Bond, and of Alec Trevelyan, played by Pierce Brosnan. Sean Bean has a death that is "stagd" in the beginning of the film, and his death haunts James Bond for over ten yars, and then he is given the chance to go after the general that killed his best friend, only to have a surprise middle of the film and the resurrection of Alec. He is totally converted by the Russians, sarcastically renounces his citizenship and his affiliation as a friend and a co-worker with James, and wants to use GoldenEye to do damage to London. He is brash, rude, methodical to the point that he can put a gun together and do it with hardly any effort. Its a terrorist role, and its one that Sean Bean does very well. Don't miss the two boys with toys 006 and 007!

Summary: A Better Sort of Bond
Review: James Bond was getting a little tired in the Eighties, and it was definitely beginning to show. However, Bond is back in Goldeneye, "new and improved" for the Nineties. The story is the same, of course, with a villain set on world domination whom Bond must defeat with the help of a dazzling woman.

Pierce Brosnan is definitely the best Bond after Sean Connery (and in a few ways, perhaps better) - he's suave, debonaire, and looks stunning in a tux. The villain, played adroitly by the British Sean Bean, is also a welcome change: this bad guy's an ex-best-friend of Bond's, who's going to use the INTERNET to dominate the world! The women are a treat as well, especially Famke Janssen as the *very bad* villainess.

All in all, though "die-hard" fans of James Bond may disapprove of some of the newer elements (James Bond has a lady boss, who calls him a "sexist, misogynist dinosaur" - fancy that!), if one can look past the updating for the new century, it's still a very enjoyable romp. And it's still far better than a Licence to Kill.

Summary: An entertaining James Bond film.
Review: The world best Spy 007-James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) years before James Bond had lost his partner in a mission & he blames himself for the death of his Spy friend. Now he's team with a gorgeous computer programmer (Izabella Scorupco), Bond battles a renegade Soivet military officer (Sean Bean) planning to wreak worldwide havoc with a lethal orbiting setellite.

Pierce Brosnan is Perfect as the new James Bond. Famke Janssen is a hoot as a Horny German Hit-Woman. Directed by Martin Campbell (The Mask of Zorro, No Escape) shows flair & he also helps, an above average script making the film looks good. A suspense Spy thriller film mixed with good action scenes & humor. One of the Biggest Hit of 1995. Panavision. Grade:B+.

Summary: limited availability
Review: Why is this no longer available? I'm glad I got it when I did, note to all wanting their favorite films on DVD. (don't wait!) This 18th Bond film is the best, Bronsnan is perfect & Sean Bean is perfect as his adversary, I can't think of a better actor for this villian, Famke Jensen is also great as a seductive but deadly villian, the film does make references to the cold war being over, but what is neat is the Soviet dictator who can't accept it, he conspires with Bean for world domination with Jansen as their personal assassin who seems to get off (literally) when she kills. But Bond's love interest is by far the most beautiful Bond girl i have ever seen, this woman is a knock-out, I can't spell her name without mispelling it, but she is perfect, her and Brosnan's chemistry really clicks, the two films that followed this were not as good, but this is the best of Brosnan's three Bond films.

Summary: The best Bond yet!
Review: "GoldenEye" is a must-see action/adventure film that combines a legend with a great script, wonderful cast and a spectacular director. First, Piere Brosnan is a great Bond compared to the others and even gets 1st place on my list. He's great as 007! Sean Connery was excellent also. Roger Moore and Timothy Dutton were good, but not great. As you know, Pierce Brosnan ("The Lawnmower Man", "Mrs. Doubtfire", "Dante's Peak", "The Thomas Crown Affair", "Grey Owl") plays the suave, secret 00 agent with a license to kill, James Bond. Bond is out to secure the "GoldenEye", a mass destruction weapon that wipes out anything with an electronic circuit. A Severnaya work station in Russia was already wiped out by this weapon after everybody being killed by Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen, "Celebrity", "Deep Rising", "Rounders", "The Faculty", and in the upcoming "Don't Say A Word") and General Ouromov who work for the double-crossing, evil-turned villain, agent 006, Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean, "Patriot Games", "Don't Say A Word") who wants to use the Goldeneye with the help of a Severnaya level 1 programmer, Boris Grishenko (Alan Cumming, TV's "God, The Devil and Bob", "Josie and the Pussycats","Eyes Wide Shut", "The Anniversary Party"). Bond, who gets help from a Severnaya level 2 programmer Natalya Simonova (Izabella Scorupco)learns about the weapon and how it can be stopped. With lives and money at stake, Bond must rush to obtain the GoldenEye and must prevent it from being used to destroy electronic files. Joe Don Baker and Robbie Coltrane co-star. Martin Campbell directs a great cast into the new century of Bond films."GoldenEye" is truly the best Bond yet. Also, 'M' is now a lady and is played by Dame Judi Dench ("Mrs. Brown", "Chocolat").

Summary: One of, if not the best 007 movie yet
Review: Goldeneye packs a great storyline as well as great special effects. Pierce Brosnan plays Bond as well as Connery. Sean Bean also plays Trevelyan/Janus perfectly. You've gotta buy this if you are a fan of 007. This will movie'll have you on the edge of your seat!
