Review: Where can I start. THis movie is so exciting. Robert Redford stars as the retiring spy with one last job in mind. To save his long time spy trainee that he trained a long time ago. The actors are great in this movie. And this DvD is packed with special features. Even if you dont like thrillers I think you should at least watch this one.

Summary: Outstanding thriller
Review: This is by far the best thriller I've watched in a long time. It keeps you wondering till the end what turn the plot will take next and how the main character ( Robert Redford ) will deal with it. Both Redford and Pitt's character's are well developed, there are very good dialogue scenes and one really gets a feeling of involvement with an intelligence agency's inside politics. Ok so the ending is a bit sci-fi, but I rate this one 5-stars because I can't remember a movie that kept me wondering for the whole two hours and which I was eager to review once I had seen it first time in the movie theater. Don't miss it!

Summary: OLD FASHIONED SPY THRILLER
Review: A curiously uninvolving spy flick, possibly because Redford is way past his prime and occupies far too much screen time. Pitt isn't bad as a young spy learning the game. It is not clear to me why this particular film was made, however. It has absolutely no relevance in this post-Cold War era. Older audiences might find it more edifying.

Summary: Superb
Review: "Spy Game" takes two longstanding genre cliches - the old-fashioned hero's Last Day On The Job, and The Renegade Agent - and manages to spin them into something new and compelling. Structured along the lines of "The Usual Suspects" with characters sitting around an office intercut with action-packed flashbacks all heading towards a stunning, revelatory climax, "Spy Game" never feels like a talk-fest even though dialogue is crucial. From the brisk opening sequence, rhythmic music well-integrated with snappy editing keeps things moving at an engaging pace. And for once we have a Brad Pitt movie in which his pretty-boy face isn't the primary focus. I actually forgot it was him I was watching. Tony Scott's direction has never been more assured, resulting in a better film than anything his more famous brother has done in quite a while. And it's good to see screenwriter Michael Frost Beckner's name on the big screen again: his last film of note was "Cutthroat Island", which just goes to show there is such a thing as life after death in Hollywood. This isn't a film for action fans - but for those who enjoy superbly crafted movies and clever yarns, "Spy Game" will be just the ticket.

Summary: A fun mix of drama and action
Review: Spy Game is a clever action flick with a cool soundtrack and a few fun ideas that resists becoming too gimmicky for their own good.Beginning in the early 90's, Robert Redford plays operative Nathan Muir in his last day on the job when he is brought in for questioning about agent Tom Bishop (Brad Pitt) he enlisted and trained but is now held prisoner in China for espionage. The film then goes back and forth between the drama of the present as CIA officials decide Pitt's fate, and the action of the past as Redford incorporates Pitt into the CIA. The film manages to avoid falling back on over-used and often annoying devices of most flashback movies, and creates a fresh approach using fun, zooming camera shots with an upbeat music track. There's nothing deep here, just fun action done well in a time when many action films are becoming stale retreads of one another. Much of this is thanks to action-director-extraordinare Tony Scott, who made one of my favorite films, True Romance, as well as Top Gun. He knows how to make a fun, entertaining action flick without relying too much on over-used ideas. The acting is all around decent too. The main characters have three dimensions, a plus in action flicks. This is just a fun action flick definitely worth a few viewings. Not a bad way to spend an evening.

Summary: There's a time and a place.
Review: My title comes from the fact that I made the mistake of seeing this film on a Friday night with some mates. This certainly is not an action packed thrill ride, but rather an intelligent look into the world of a spy and also friendship. A very talky film such as The Insider, can make this an effort to watch, but have no fear, you shall be rewarded with strong performances and some real time to think. The editing is fast paced and ofetn confusing but you soon get the grip of it all. Only watch if you have an attention span.

Review: I really like this movie. I had to watch it a few times to catch all the action, now I watch it for the ejoyment of watching the Cat and Mouse game Redford plays with the CIA, especially with Chuck. Great action, I like the way it was filmed with the flashbacks. I'm a Redford fan and this one is worth buying.

Review: Kinda cliche but watchable. Anything touched with the Communist China would have turned out so ridiculous and shallow by Hollywood. Please do some serious homeworks about China before shooting it. Otherwise, change the scene, please.

Review: Spy Game is a great spy thriller with a real satisfying conclusion. The film keeps you guessing at Redford's Nathan Muir "plays" the CIA to help out Pitt. A quality film.
