Summary: Move over Rover, for Roger is taking over...
Review: Finally, the real Bond, Roger Moore of course, takes over and gives the franchise a much-needed facelift. Moore was initially considered for the Bond role when the series first began and it is a shame he wasn't there from the beginning. Oh well, better late-than-never! One more Connery film probably would have destroyed the series for good. Right from the onset, the opening scene in Bond's apartment, it is quite clear that we now have a more sophisticated, witty and charming Bond. Moore's Bond seduces his women with charm and intelligence rather than, as Connery's Bond did, 'he-maning' his way into their pants. As for the film itself, some of the highlights include the following: Bond's miraculous escape from a lake of man-eating crocodiles, the river boat chase (which is filmed brilliantly), and Bond's final encounter with Mr. Big / Kananga. All in all, this film set the stage for the Moore / Bond years and what a glorious run it was to be.

Summary: Nice special edition but...
Review: Great part of the Special Edition DVD series...lots of interesting extras but this film is not Dolby 5.1 it was only released in Mono. Would have been a better release to capture the full sound in the boat chases. Highlights are the classic boats scene...standalone for crazy Bond stunts...also interesting to see the making of the alligator/crocodile jumping scene.

Summary: 007 meets Shaft
Review: The Rob says this: if you want a movie just for watchin a damn good movie, than this is the one for you as Roger Moore takes on the role of Jimmy Bond. Everywhere you turn there'a nother explosion. Every step you take leads you down another adventure and watch out for those crocidiles, sucka! Its James Bond mixin it up with the likes of Shaft as he parades down the streets of Harlem searchin for Mr. Big, but first hes got to go through pimps, chumps, and a dude with a metal hand. Man, its wack.

Summary: This Bond movie is as good as it gets !
Review: I just don't understand why this Bond movie gets all the bad reviews, it is one of my favorites.

It may well be that the so-called critics (who in general don't like many of the Bond classics or for that matter many of the best movies) get to caught up trying to analysis movies. Movies are meant as entertainment, period. They don't always make a social comment or try to promote someones political ideas.

A general rule of thumb that I have learned over the years is to go and see the movies the critics dislike, first and foremost, as they will generally be the most entertaining!!

This Bond is action packed and frankly, I always have liked Moore a little more than Connery in the role...if only by a hairs difference.

It also comes with the best Bond theme song ever with Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die" which is another of his musical classics.

Don't let the "experts" scare you off of this one..it does exactly what it is meant to do, entertain the audience....and it does a supurb job of doing just that!

Summary: A decent movie
Review: The weirdest thing about Moore's movies is that they seem more outdated than Connery's. I'm not sure why, but for some reason they always feel un-bondish. I like this movie (he made worse ones later), but it feels strange at times.

Summary: Agent 007 must decide who he will let "Live and Let Die"
Review: This is one of my favorite James Bond movies available in the 007 film library. This particular one is very, very special to me because this was my very first Bond film that I saw. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to watch more of the Bond movies and I was just amazed at the stunts and filmography involved in them. My favorite part in the movie is the boat chase towards the end of the movie. Bond leads a team of boats through the tributaries of Lousiana and in the process ruins a wedding reception. This is a great movie making it a classic Bond movie and you should order this on DVD format (Digital Video Disc) for the highest sound and picture quality available. You're not only getting excellent picture quality, but also added features like audio commentary by the film makers and my favorite, the theatrical trailer.

Summary: Could use some work
Review: Being, Roger Moore's first film, I understand that it wasn't going to be the best. I liked the boat scene with Bond and the Louisiana sheriff and the scenes with voodoo. Something that this movie needed was a scene with "Q". Bond's gadgets needed some backup from this master of the technology. Overall I gave this movie 3 stars.

Summary: ONE OF BEST BOND FLICK!!!
Review: Roger Moore began his Bond role in this 1973 Bond release, Live and Let Die. Bond is out to save the US from a drug smuggler. 007 of course finds excitment in the women, the cars, boats, and even meets a backwoods sheriff along the way. This Bond outing for Moore was his first and his best. Possibly one of the best Bond flicks, unfortunatly for Moore though following in Connery's shoes is an almost impossible task, as you see later in Moore's Bond career.

Summary: the first and only hick James Bond
Review: And it gets Moore and Moore better with age. For 70's nostalgia value alone, this movie is a kick! Not to mention the classic, ridiculous Harlem scene and the bad guy inflating at the end.
