Summary: The Best of Bond
Review: It's amazing that the James Bond movie franchise is forty years old and still successful. Although there have been hits and misses since then (to me, the low point is View to a Kill), the series was at its best with this film.In many ways, this is a typical James Bond movie: you have the gadgets (though more limited than in future movies), the beautiful women who all fall for Bond and if necessary, are converted away from their evil ways and of course, the nasty villains. What makes this Bond movie exceptional is its diversion from the standard plot; Bond is for most of the movie an unwitting pawn of SPECTRE. Also, the villains are especially threatening without being over-the-top; Robert Shaw's killer is an ominous shadow who does not even speak till two-thirds into the film and Colonel Klebb has a cold-blooded nastiness all her own. And, of course, the best of the Bonds, Sean Connery, is in this one as well. Goldfinger and Dr. No are also especially good Bond movies; perhaps they excel because as the first three, there is less of a reliance on special effects and more on story. From Russia With Love, however, is the pinnacle of this overall good series.

Review: "From Russia With Love" is not just one of the greatest Bond films, but one of the greatest films in genral. The villan, Red Grant, is truly the most lethal in the series. Connery gives an amazing preformance as 007. The harrowing scene on the Orville Express is truly the greatest in movie history. The gadgets are the best, and the Bond girl is outstanding. My favorite!

Review: A good movie with Dr.No ranking up some good reviews. From Russia With Love got a lot of good reveiws. The point is I don't get why it seems longer then it really is? Any how you'll love this movie all the way to Russia! SO GET IT NOW!!!

Review: The second Bond adventure is considered by many to be the best (Though "Goldfinger" and "Dr. No" are excellent as well). Agent 007 travels to Russia to retrieve a top secret decoding machine. The crime group SPECTRE also wants it. Bond encounters along the way a defector from the Soviet Union (Lotte Lenya) who now works for SPECTRE and a SPECTRE assassin (Robert Shaw). Bond, as usual, gets assistance from the Q Branch and from allies on the field (One of them played by Pedro Armendariz). But, as usual, Bond gets female assistance, this time from a Russian blonde (Daniella Bianchi). The movie has a few plot holes in it (Why can't the bad guys just shoot bond when they have the chance?). Nevertheless, it's pure entertainment all the way. The DVD edition has good audio and video quality, though considering the technology available, it could have been made better. Two documentaries: "Inside From Russia with Love" and "Harry Saltzman: Showman" are included on the disc, both well made. There is a collection of theatrical trailers, as well as television and radio spots and a photo gallery. One particular interesting extra is an "Animated Storyboard Sequence", showing storyboards for a scene and a comparison with how the scene actually turned out. There is also audio commentary from director Terence Young and assorted cast/crew and a collectible booklet. This is a must add to your collection. Not only one of the best bond movies but also a great DVD.

Review: The second James Bond movie is harder-edged, less spectacular and in some ways superior to "Goldfinger", this showcases Sean Connery at his best as James Bond. Lotte Lenya's Rosa Klebb is justifiably legendary; Robert Shaw's cold-blooded menace as Red Grant remains unmatched. 10/10

Summary: One Of The Best Bond Films
Review: My title explains it all. It is indeed one of the best Bond films of all time...this and Goldfinger. The plot a lone is just great. It's very orginal and it's what a plot of a spy film should be. It's all about espionage and not "Save the world" plot like the many others. The great fight scene on the train is great, and of course Sean Connery is the best Bond of them all. He plays him very well, so smooth and suave, the way Bond should be.

Summary: My favorite Bond Film
Review: I've only seen 6 James Bond movies. They are "Dr. No," "The Spy Who Loved me," "A View to a Kill," "Goldfinger," "Diamonds are Forever," and this. And believe me, this is my favorite. The plot concerns a decoding machine which is to be stolen by SPECTRE agents, and Bond must stop them. This film marked the debut of Desmond Lewellyn as Q, with hish attache case with all kinds of bells and whistles. The best scene in the film is when Sean Connery and Robert Shaw (both marvelous actors), battle it out on the Orient Express. It's a great action sequence! And about the DVD. There's an interesting documentary on the making of the film, and I'll say the same for the one on Harry Saltzman. And I do enjoy the trailers. Listen to me. It's better than "Goldfinger."

Summary: Action, suspense, intrigue, romance - a perfect bond movie!
Review: FRWL is probably one of the best Bond movies ever made. Put simply, it has everything a Bond picture needs. It has remarkable action, (even by today's standards) a great plot, great suspense, intrigue, witt, and even some nifty-looking gadgets. The DVD package is great, with two documentaries about the making of the film and about Harry Saltzman, trailer/tv spots, a storyboard sequence, and a marvelous commentary hosted by John Cork. The commentary is so nice that it even has interviews by late director Terrence Young! Anyway, however you can just buy this DVD.

Review: That quote is from the best villian in any Bond movie. He's Robert Shaw and tells Bond that the first bullets from his gun won't kill him untill he begs to be put out of his misery. Along with Shaw is Lotte Lenya who is the best villianess in the series. So with just those two characters, the film gets a high mark, not to mention a young Sean Connery playing it straight and carrying a brief case full of gadgets. The tension in this film builds and then explode with a sting of four unique action pieces. The villiness "gets her kicks" and so will you. This film ranks #2 on my top Bond film lists (after OHMSS)so that should tell you what I think of it. If you want to see the best Bond actor in a serious Bond film, see this one. It's also the best film to introduce someone to James Bond.
