Rating: Summary: That damned elusive Pimpernel! Review: I first saw this movie when my sister brought it home because she had seen it in school. It's now one of my favorite movies. With Sir Percy Blakney Baronet(They sink him here, they seek him there, those Frenchs seek him everywhere. Is he in heaven or is he in-hell?that damned elusive Pimpernel),the prince of wales(I might have to practice my Guadasenor.Steal her away), Chauvelin(Then your tailors will rule the land and no one will make the clothes. So much for French fashion. And French politics..),Marguerite(...is he in heaven or is he in hell?My own elusive Pimpernel), Armande(You...serious? You, who are incapable of any thought entering your head that isn't trivial? Really Percy, this is serious), and the Dauphin(let this be a lesson to you, son. dont take anything for granted) this movie is wonderful. A must see.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: This movie was great! I love period peices and I absolutly love Jane Seymour. It's amazing how beautiful she was when this movie was filmed, and she's much more beautiful now.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, intriguing, consuming, entertaining! Review: Great story! Jane Seymour has never been more enchanting, and this story is surprisingly fascinating. Historically enlightening, with an almost superhero comic-book-like storyline that is very believable. Well acted, scripted, directed. A great show.
Rating: Summary: "Sink me!" A fabulous movie! Review: 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' is the best movie in the world! I first watched this movie a couple years back when my mom rented it and forced me to watch it. Now I can't enough! Foppish Percy (Antoney Andrews),beutiful Marguerite (Jane Seymour) and horrifying Chauvelain(Sir Ian McKllenan) are funny, charming, elusive and positively perfect. It is my favorite movie of all time. I can watch it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I have to buy it from 'Amazon'. The "Pimpernel" rocks!
Rating: Summary: Sink me! one of my all time favorites Review: I first saw this movie in one of my history classes, and I loved it from the beggining. It has everything, romance, action, comedy and drama. I now look for anything that has to do with that demmed illusive pimpernel, and hope to one day have a whole collection of pimpernel stuff. Again, if you ever get a chance to see this movie, I recommend that you do.
Rating: Summary: One of THE all-time BEST movies I've seen!... A Family Fave! Review: This movie is one of our family's traditional favorites! Everyone enjoys the action (swashbuckling swordfights), adventure (daring clever escapes), suspense (secret spy missions/allegiances), and romance (Sir Percy and Marguerite) in this film, cleverly portrayed by the three main actors (Anthony Andrews, Jane Seymour, and Sir Ian McKellan).Years ago this movie came on PBS and we had copied it via VCR but lost the tape when moving and it was sorely missed! Finding this movie again here made it an instant MUST-HAVE! You will not regret buying this movie and I guarantee you'll enjoy it time and time (and time and time) again! Show it to all your friends so they will chuckle along with you when you arrive late to a party with the excuse ... (*insert snooty English accent here*) "I had a devil of a time trying to find a suitable basket!"... (Buy it now, you'll see what I mean! *grin*)
Rating: Summary: An enchanting and intriguing adventure/romance Review: This is my all time favorite movie. Especially good when you don't know anything about the story. Enough adventure and sword fighting to keep the men-folk intrigued and enough deep looks and heart wrenching twists to keep the chic-flic lovers enthralled. A completely fabulous movie.
Rating: Summary: BUY IT NOW!! Review: Great adaptation of the original novels (The Scarlet Pimpernel and Eldorado). Andrews and Seymour were wonderful in their respective roles. Sir Ian McKellan gave a fabulous performance. He is the best Chauvelin I've seen so far.
Rating: Summary: A video collection must-have! Review: This is a truly enjoyable movie, worthy of watching more than once. Don't believe me? Rent it once, and I'll bet you come back to buy it!
Rating: Summary: They seek him here, they seek him there... Review: Not only does this film give you a fresh interpretation of the Scarlet Pimpernel but it also highlights good performances of 3 excellent actors: Anthony Andrews, Jane Seymour and of course, Sir Ian McKellan. A must see for fans of epic sagas and "period" movies.
